true the useage of supressing/covering fire in OFP is pointless and a waste of ammo i agree,and is nothing more than watching and like you say shooting anything that may come running,although there is some benifit of having people in a firing position while the other move as they can react in a split second and at least put some concentrated fire on the enemy while the other take cover not that the enemy will hide but the will be dealt with quicker and maybe save people from getting killed i was more thinking along the lines of say.. as llauma says he and bals have played ofp for a long time and know how each other works and wot there gonna do, so if say llauma was squad leader he could just tell bals short orders where he wanted to other fireteam and not have to worry cos he trusts bals. teamspeak has it benefits here obviously but also the more people you have on ts the patter about the weather/wot you ate for your dinner kind of talk increases not that this is a bad as people get to know each other better but can sometimes get a bit hectic when everyone talks at once

maybe you could when possible split the people up into 2 fireteams(when there are 8 or so players) and have someone as second in command responcible for fireteam 2.that way the groupleader doesn't have to worry about everyone all the time and can just give orders to fireteam 2 leader then he only has to worry about his 4 men.this will allow easier coordination between the players and also allow for realistic tactics, providing cover fire while the other team advances etc. the problem with public games or in this case semi public games is that you always get 1 nooby twat coming allong and thinking its safe to blow that satchel up he left behind at the last objective ay donner ? last time i joined i seem to remember bals shooting me in the face in 1 mission .lol shit happens sometimes i guess but i think you'll have calmed down now lol. hats off to you CIA guys for hosting this night cos coop takes patience n dedicated players and all in all seems to work pretty well at you coop nights and i like to pop in for a game now and then cos its the only real chance i get to play finmod.. thnx

the problem is with that version nvidia driver nv4_disp.dll 6.14.10.7184 uninstall and go back to version b4 this one .. or as i just checked nvidia site there was a new driver released (probably due to the fact they broke everyones computers last month :P ) Version: 66.93 definatly works go back to that one or try the latest version which i am about to do drivers

out of interest wot refresh rate u usually use ? saince you say you upped it to 70 ? u want your refresh rate as high as as you can have it ..it nicer on the eyes when playing for a while. n next time try msn :P

dxdll crashes if you try and change res,says in readme changing your refresh rate will change the size of the picture on your screen just resize and position it with the controls on your monitor. @placebo changing refresh to 100 might not be a good idea, if his monitor doesn't support that refresh rate at that resolution it will just make a nasty mess on his screen..mine i think only does 85hz with plug and play drivers but if i install manufacturer drivers i get more refresh rates available on a side note the newest nvidia drivers version 71.84 do nasty things to your games...

flashpoint has always been a bit crap for alt tabbing.although i rarely have problems with that now. just just keep your desktop res different from your game , but everyone knows that right ? it still occasionally just vanish tho instead of alt tabbing

i hardly ever download SP missions cos i only play MP most of time and if i got no one to MP with then i'll usually just mess about in mission editor and go back thru the 20 ton of "addons i downloaded and looked at once". munk put me onto this mission and luckily i had all except the pick up truck.the orcs stuff i dl and looked at once so i dl this mission mainly so i could play with them or i might have just put this mission aside to dl the stuff later and forgot about it. good job i didn't cos after 5 mins i was blown away by the scale of this mission and reallly impressed by how much playabliity it had with the random locations

i'm with them on that one.AI with pistols and binoculars are completely dimm.. enemy with binocular is just as bad as u can shoot them and they think "shit i'm getting shot" then stand there with their binoculars out looking round to see where from. @ homer i believe they are working on a coop templete, which will be great @acecombat whine

holding the shift (run button) alt tabs you out on windows xp ,but it also gives you an annoying popup box about sticky keys..so guess its not that

couple of days ago i installed the newest nvidia drivers played a few games of flashpoint then got lock up for about 10 seconds during the game which then carried on as normal only to do same a few minutes later then CTD when i restarted OFP i got this same error and flashpoint would not run at all ..as there are a few thread about this i came on forums n tried evry suggestion people had and none of it worked . so i gave up and went to play LOTR middle earth thingy and that wouldn't run either giving a slightly different error along the same lines.. so i'm thinking something terrible.. after a restart LOTR ran ok . then next day went to run OFP and still wouldn't run giving same error so i unistalled nvidia and reinstalled the last version restarted and everything was A ok .. i told me friend wot had happened and he also said he had to unistall latest nvidia drivers as it had messed up eve online for him so i'm guessing the new nvidia drivers are just crap

now now kiddies chill out ..he's entitled to his opinion .. no matter how pointles a statement like "theres to much desert in this desert" is.. he might have a phobia of sand :P AGS thnx for taking the time to do 2 versions of this map . cant wait to see this map with those original textures back. i dont think mirrors will be a problem -

The windows have to stay there. And I'll not modify the texture itself, because I've already used it on other objects plus it'd have to be in higher res to be the same quality after the windows are added I don't want to do that, as this would siginificantly incrase poly count. I'd rather have a few flickering windows than more lag. Hope you understand. Uhmmm yes... but I'm gonna need your help. IIRC it was you who offered to help to create transtions in Visitor, right? I think I'm gonna need your help. I tried to install Vistor but I gave up after 3 hours of constant failures with importing the island. So I need somebody to do this transitions for me. If you want to help, that'd be great! Stay tunned for more info soon. yer i forgot to mention that cutting up the walls would add more faces raising the poly count .maybe make 2 version of the wall texture 1 with windows (i dont think it look too bad if the where scaled right)and one plane wall to keep for whatever else you used it on.or just leave it i can live with it, its a great improvment on how the mosque was anyway. visitor cannot import wrp files so you cant edit the textures directly onto your map i think theres 4 texture in orig CAT island that need transition making, but more might crop up as you start retexturing the newly made bits of your version with CAT textures wot you have to do is start an island off in visitor and start texturing it with the textures from CAT that need transistions visitor will then freeze up once you add second texture and so on, as it is creating transitions.when it comes back to life all the created transition will be in the island folder.everytime a new transition crops up it creates them so try and and not texture the island but make a little system with patterns that you think will cover all needed transitions .take the newly made textures and get wrptool to sort out the transistion. note. visitor will only make transitions if the base texture has a 2 letter name. i think that makes sense.. i did fix the single missing transition on your revisited version .. worked out the missing texture set up visitor and created it only to find the texture was already in the pbo it just wasn't working corrrectly seems wrptool will not use as a transition cos it was in a different folder (i think ) so the transition tool in wrp tool would not find it i had to reset all transitions then get it try and do it ,it would then leave the dodgy transition selected then used the replace texture tool to put the correct texture in the selected cells then save.. gimme a shout if you A cant be arsed with vistor or B havent got time and i'll make transistions for you .. -

on the middle eastern mosque the easy ways to fix this would be to either romove the polygons that the black windows are on and edit the wall texture to include the windows. or cut the wall up so the mesh shape of the window is part of the wall mesh then slap the texture in that. then you wont have 2 surfaces trying to compete for the same space.. just wondered smith if your still planning to make 2 textured versions of the island cos i was looking thru my old screenshots folder yesterday and found some old afghan shots of V3 and got a bit gutted that it was gone well not gone but you know what i mean. (hopefully not for good ) -
i was under the impression that verticle sync locked your fps to half of your refresh rate so at 60hz you wont get more than 30 fps. the tearing is more noticeable in the corridors of games like halflife because the image is being rendered faster than the monitor is displaying so when you turn your mouse from side to side vertical lines (corners of walls, pillars )apear to break up slightly as if cut in 3 or 4 places.people playing these faster cs and halflife type shooters tend have Vsync turned off to get the most fps posible.hl2 looks much better with Vsync on (evereything is much more solid)but there a performance hit and you need a high refresh rate to get a decent framerate. but because of the natural enviroment of OFP its not really noticable at all ,unless you go into a forest on everon(or somewhere like the big city on tonal) and start waving your mouse from side to side

( we both learn something new the one on that model aint too good but the turban is ok and may be of some use if i cant be arsed to make one. so thnx hats in o2 @firefly it does work scroll to bottom and click free download then it will say when your download is ready.i was a bit confused at first -
i might doat some point but i'm having too much fun nicking the pickup trucks and seeing how much air i can get from mountains on the way back to base plus me n munk busy trying to get u some proper civillians..
