    OFP is still a great sim, even the graphics can be nice --it's only a matter of good selection of addons smile_o.gif

    My fastest PC (it's a laptop actually) also denies to run Arma, so when I have some time, I'm launching OFP. There are still some cool addons coming out /not to often but it's something/ like the latest KC-10 with refueling scripts, so it's still a great killing platform and I love it biggrin_o.gif

    it would be great to have

    - anything BAS'

    - anything UKF' (faces in arma still look unrealistic --they would look cool only under facecovers and goggles biggrin_o.gif)

    Polish publisher representatives said that the delay is caused by the change of a database --BIS replaced excell with another db crazy_o.gifbiggrin_o.gif (excell is not a "real" db biggrin_o.gif )

    They said also that it's 90% sure that the final release date will be changed one more time bcause they have still much to do with the localization, disks yet have to be burned, etc.

    I thought a demo was going to be released before the final product ?? Now I see you can buy ArmA polish and german from the ArmA website.....what happened to the demo huh.gif?

    Are the polish and germans that gullible to buy a ArmA beta or are they the selected nations to get the cheat packs rolled out. whistle.gif

    you mean "chosen nations"? hehe biggrin_o.gif (actually there is a nation which has been "chosen" couple of thousand years ago wink_o.gif )

    (and these lucky countries are Germany and Chech republic, not Poland btw)

    I totally agree with Sharez.....BIS has gone back in time with this release. There is no way in the HOT place that this distribution nightmare should have ever happened. The way it looks right now....Outer Mongolia will ship before North America....so does that mean I should get on my trusty yak and ride to the nearest postal outlet in OM and hope my copy arrives.....I don't flippin think so. The last time I looked....we ARE in the 21st century....and there is this thing called the internet...and you CAN buy things online....but you SHOULD NOT have to buy the OUTER MONGOLIAN version just so you can play the game. Yup...I'm an unhappy camper..... banghead.gif.

    hmm.. I hope you used "outer mongolia" as a metaphor only... (I have nothing against Mongolia but comparing this far east country to Poland or Chech Republic is an evidence of.... guess what.

    And who said that every new (computer) game should be released in north america first??? --have you ever heard of the japaneese console games..?? or European movies which usually can be seen in european theaters first...? (and sometimes need to be re-produced for the specific US audience before showing them in usa biggrin_o.gif )

    be patient btw --we have been waiting for a year now, so couple of days more is not a tradegy after all... [edit]patient[/edit]

    (I said that I don't belive that ArmA would be released in Q4 2005 but will be rel. in 2006 and will be called OFP2, not Arma wink_o.gif --all right, IT IS called Arma, but it's only a "bridge" game, between OFP and OFP2, which will share the engine with VBS2.. (if i'm not wrong --I'm not up to date on this because I already lost my patience smile_o.gif )

    is it only me who has the laser pointer problem? -it appears that it has been created using two different beams (which is very cool if I'm right bcause it will looks like real laser beam) but only the first one is loading, second is not (..?):

    (and it's just the second addon I know which has the same issue)

    Mercs are awesome biggrin_o.gif, no doubt -Jeniffer model with Neph' made head is really cool.. I wish all heads in ofp would be replaced by those... notworthy.gif

    (NVG animations also really cool..)

    bugs (except those already mention above, like IR Designator CTD, etc.): funny carry/use enemy as human shield issue: get one when you carry a beretta [edit](or with a rifle but crouching or lying down, now I'm not sure; I can try to reproduce this)[/edit], then leave him;)

    Neph, one more think: Jennifer supposed to be a medic (Grom medic actually hehe) but she has no healing skills... (only "First Aid" kit on the left arm....)

    it would be great / at the other hand in real world if you carry two weapons and want to pick up another you have to leave one of them before.. so maybe your script should only check if 2nd/LAW slot is not empty and handle this in appropriate way so it would not return any error and say for example "sorry man, make some room first if you want to pick up that cool think" biggrin_o.gif

    anyway it's a great and very unique work -even if this will not be released for ofp it's worth even $140 for... v***s product biggrin_o.gif (actually I saw beta pics of your mercs some time ago at v***s.com site and it was one of the reasons of starting thinking about getting into this... wink_o.gif [edit](really -I'm serious)[/edit]

    btw please don't take me worng: I dont' want to discuss here just for prove that I'm right because (for example) I'm insane or have some other problems biggrin_o.gif -but only because I have one problem now: to buy VBS1 now or to wait to the end of the year or more for Arma[edit]or OFP2[/edit]..... (why to go with VBS..? --it's a different story...)

    (and I'm a pessimist as you probably already know  wink_o.gif

    [...]I think your mistake was throwing vbs into the mix, VBS1 is not a home entertainment product, it takes advantage of available technology and is tailored and licensed for military use with BIA creating specific material on client demand.

    This is my perception of things to come, ofcourse nothing is definite but it seems to be what BIS is planning to achieve smile_o.gif .

    biggrin_o.gif no, it's just my h opinion, based on tactics used by other software companies.. wink_o.gif lets face it: look at the screenshots published officially by bis: there aren't many differences between them, and if you know (i know smile_o.gif ) that at least one person affiliated with bis is working on ofp2/next gen.pc/whatever it's called game only, theoretically you have the answer... ([edit]which is actually very sad[/edit]) if arma = VBS1 it will not be rel. -without any major update to VBS bis will never release anything which is almost the same but for less money -it's obvious.... personally I think that there will be two new games next year: 1st VBS2, then OFP2, both based on the same engine.....

    -those are OFP2 pics, not Arma, and I know that BIS team is currently working on OFP2 with few freelancers, so.......

    (but I can be wrong of course wink_o.gif and maybe  xmas_o.gif will give me something what would help me save the money -otherwise I will spent $$$$ on VBS  confused_o.gif (or even $$$$$$ ) biggrin_o.gif

    or anyone with VBS --send some pictures of the VBS-only troops --as far as I remember there will be only 7 of them in the ofp release so we can check what will not be in the ofp package...

    (for me it's one of the most awaited addons but I'm afraid that I will (finally) have to buy VBS to have these guys and Neph herself looking realy good...)(I hate this (not the author biggrin_o.gif ) but it could be the final reason to get a copy of VBS..... I can't wait any longer for ofp2 or whatever this will be called..)

    (besides I'm afraid that Extraction's CIA guys will be much much worse for many reasons so Neph's mercenaries will be the only good contractors- and CIA-like troops available for masses)

    Neph, this is great work smile_o.gif -realy!

    (you should work with Alex C. -this would definitely help some (already good) team working currently on something... biggrin_o.gif )
