  1. I noticed if a vehicle is upside down if you try and fire a jav at it will usually hit the ground in front of it seems when you mark the tank even if its upside sown it goes for the turret.

Here is an example sometimes when a tank is about to fire at you move you barrel to the far left or right then if u can time it well you can move the barrel up or down and avoid the shell (learned that from OFP and strangly still seems to be in arma)

Only works against AI of course people would just shoot you anyways but sometimes it can work against Lock on Rockets from AI or Human

  2. hmm i got a GF8800GTS-640 dint see the "fog bug" or i need just to test it a litll more .. tounge2.gif

compare two games running side by side

one with a 8800 and one with a 7xxx and with the same settings and view disatance the 8800 card looks like there is some kind of forest fire like where i live it looks like that in the summer when there is forest fires. Its bearable but annoying

  3. well again i will put my expience in for u all inlove.gif

    7950gt

    7950gt SLI

    7950GX2

    8800GT

Problem one they all CTD with that bloody error

Problem two all CTD on these ones stopped when disabling Shadows.... Low Shadows would delay the CTD tho.

I have tested them on the following Configurations for your Interest

    3x Socket 775 Systems with E6850s

    2x Socket AM2 Systems with X2 4600+

    1x Socket 940 Dual Opteron 250 system

2GB memory and 4gb Memory Configurations

    Windows XP Professional X32/X64

    Windows Server 2003 Enterprise X32/64

    Windows XP Home

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition X32/64 (it was the worst never could get it working with Arma but Vista is crap anyways just collects dust now)

Interstingly enough most of the configurations mimic each other except when using VISTA and its just totally Unstable.

  4. Heh I get Teleportation with arma dedicated server in a closed Gigabit Lan Network and the CPUs are event breaking over 50% so i have not seen anything as of yet to cure this so far

If your using a dual core or a p4 with hyper threading enabled, windows will only say its using 50%, if its dual core its only using 1 core because thats all it can use, or if its a p4 disable hyper threading so it uses 99% which may help you lag. I run a dedi on q6600 2 gig ram on a p5wdh, @ 2.80gig. on a lan, still get this prob though.

    Cheers

    GC

using 2 Opteron 250s actually 2 actual CPU's no Dual Core but i know it plagues it as well

  5. another thing that ails Arma AI is the Size Movement grid which shows why the AI has trouble moving through Tight towns and bridges I have seen a AI go to the middle of the bridge (Soldier) and the other soldier walked in a straight line and would not walk around the soldier. I bet its possible to Lower the Size of the AI Movement Grid to say way smaller like OFP. I know in OFP my ai had no problems using the bridge except once in the while they would drive over the side randomly.

Arma 2 supposedly has the smaller Movement Grid but I dont see why it could not be implemented with a patch since AI in OFP moved more better then AI in arma cause of this
