    ubermachtig presents - Transport Inbound

Thanks for informing me about that, I wasn't aware it could cause issues;) Humans learn every day:) Enjoy the mission:)
  2. Hello everyone, Recently, I've made a singleplayer mission. very unexpected, it was downloaded over 200 times. However, there are still a couple of things not entirely done yet. I've created 7 choppers, named M1, M2 and so on. At this moment, the mission ends if M1 is down, However, I would like to fix this so all choppers have to be death to trigger the mission end. I'm 90 percent sure this is a problem in the ENDMISSION trigger, the current code in there is !alive M1. Can anyone tell me how to adjust this to make it work the way I want it to? (I've tried adjusting the code above into !alive M1, M2, M3 etc. but it didn't matter in any way) Thanks,

    A small trigger problem

Thanks, that one works excellent:) I've now managed to get my mission fixed and even add some stuff:) I have 3 other questions for my next project. * I'd like to create an ambush, and want some of my allies to lay down on initialization. (I tried multiple codes, and ArmA 2 also came up with a suggestion, but it didn't work) * I'd also like one of my men to speak, when I try Say: "Hello" , it starts looking for a speech called Hello, but that's not what I want, I'd like my soldier to speak in text instead of speech:) Last question * I've tried to make a video with crashes and all that stuff in it (eventually I got it to work out in an alternative way), and I wanted the console to set the damage to 1 for multiple units when being in the trigger area. I wrote in the ACT bar: (A1 SetDamage 1) && (A2 SetDamage 1) etc. but it didn't work as well. Was there anything I needed to add on the bar above on act (forgot it's name)?

    ubermachtig presents - Transport Inbound

after a couple of requests of community members, I've updated my Transport Inbound mission from 1.0 to 1.1, it includes the following fixes: * Triggers are now working correctly (In 1.0 only one specific chopper being down triggered the end) * Environment improvements (UH-60's taking off, Crashing A10) * Choppers do not land behind the trees anymore * AA support squad reduced to 2 members (Was 4 in 1.0) http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6911 Thanks go to armaholic for hosting my mission
  5. Hello everyone, This thread is about the map you bring up when pressing "M" ingame As we all know, ArmA 2 is a game with a realistic base, which makes it a very tactical and challenging game. When playing multiplayer, you can't control everything like you can control AI in single player. However, sometimes it's necessary to make a "Plan of Approach" or just an attack plan with your teammates if you'd like that more:) At this moment, we can only drop markers while being ingame (double click on the map; a black circled marker with a black cross in it will appear, you can even add text). Although this really helps when using a realistic approach to achieve a certain goal, it's not enough. Sometimes, you want to inform your team about the route you're going to take while flanking the enemy, or the chopper flight you're going to take to reach a LZ for example. At this moment, it's not possible to show that in any way (unless you want to place 100 markers). My suggestion My suggestion to make a better war plan are red arrows which you can drag to a certain location while being ingame. This will greatly improve the gameplay, and gives you the ability to work better as a team together with your teammates. I hope something like this can be added in the next patch:D (the problem with mods is that not everyone has it installed, resulting in people who can't see the edit's you've made in the map)

It's not that hard to understand;) Choppers are flying towards a side of the chernarus map, and you're in between with a Shilka to kill the choppers:D edit: Added Armaholic's link now, I was pretty busy, I forgot about it;)

    co30 Domination! One Team

Can someone help or guide me through how to install those maps on my server. I´m a beginner in setting up servers, and I currently only have the default maps. I´ve just downloaded the newest package, but don´t know where to extract them. EDIT: Figured it out 1: Download the maps 2: Extract them to a map on your desktop (I do that to keep an overview, probably not neccesary) 3: Copy them to your MPmissions folder ( C:/Program Files/Bohemia Interactive/ArmA 2/MPMissions in my case) It's so simple, but I couldn't find it anywhere;)

    Airplanes automatic rudders

I don't get what the reality of this effect is. When you fly straight against the wind (probably doesn't even matter with those kinds of speed), the rudder is actually "Pushed" straight when flying completely straight. It's a bit hard to explain this without aerodynamic pictures, but I'm sure you get the point
  9. He has a valid point there, Your current computer can't handle 8GB's of ram. I don't want to push to buy a new windows version (when windows 7 will be released this might be the best moment to do this switch), but you'll definitely see an increase in performance in both games and 3d development programs (if you use them). Especially more requiring games like ArmA 2 can perform better with the high amount of ram you have build in your computer. I'm sure this advantage will increase while ArmA 2 gets updated and optimized:)

    Airplanes automatic rudders

Wow, I'm pretty glad reading this thread. When I've noticed this, I thought fade kicked in for some unknown reason, especially because it seemed so instructed (left, right, left, right, left, right). This thought became stronger after playing the 6th mission in "Single player scenarios", called "Bear Rising". It had a flickering map icon and the player abbandonned the tank right after the game was loaded. I'm pretty glad to see this is just a bug, instead of fade. I do agree, of course, this should be fixed. Something must be pretty wrong if people confuse the real thing with fade.
  11. Don't forget to give it a try with "Physics accelerator" switched off. This is a function that can be switched off in the Nvidia control panel. It boosted my frames per second with 5-10 frames or so:)
  12. Hey guys, Just to keep you updated, the 190.40 Beta drivers are released on Guru3d, I have no personal experience with them yet, but they're might worth a try for the ones with problems with the other 190' serie drivers. 13. Hello everyone, Since I've heard good things about Windows 7, I've decided to install it on my computer, in order to reach higher performance in ArmA 2. The problem is, I would like to keep my savegame. Could anyone explain me which files need to get back-upped in order to keep my savegame? Thanks in advance, (BTW, It won't trigger FADE, right?)

bad graphics performance - BiS confirm?

We with the 9600GT"s seem to be quite lucky:) I have around 30-40FPS with my 9600GT and Core 2 duo @ 2.13GHz:) I'd have a feeling the game needs to get some more optimization, but I have no doubt that'll be done in the near future:)

    Set Priority Task Manager

Personally (If I got time) I switch it to "High Priority", switching it to realtime causes major problems, mostly resulting in a reboot.
  17. Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising community VS ArmA 2 community The reason why I'm writing this thread is because I've recently seen an increase in trolling, flamefights and misunderstandings between both communities which are completely unnecessary. A small introduction To outsiders and people who're not familiar with one of the games and their history, the whole fight between the communities may seem weird, or even geekie. For those people, a small explanation: In 2001, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis was released. OFP:CWC was developed(made) by BIS (Bohemia Interactive Studios) and published(Taking care that everyone can buy the game somewhere) by Codemasters. OFP:CWC featured a completely new way of playing shooters. Most shooters before OFP:CWC where Run & Gun games, However, in OFP:CWC, realism was the key. OFP:CWC became a very successful game which earned multiple rewards, like the GOTY(Game of the Year) reward. Because the game was getting sold at an enormous high rate, the game was supported from 2001-2005, which was quite a long time in that period. But, Both companies wanted more; In 2005, during the development of Operation Flashpoint: Elite, both companies struggled with eachother, resulting in the split-up. Codemasters achieved the rights to use the "Operation Flashpoint" name, and BIS achieved the rights to make a successor for Operation Flashpoint (Pretty weird, isn't?) And, that's when both companies started to develop their own game; Operation Flashpoint 2, later called Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was developed and published by Codemasters. ArmA, the successor of OFP:CWC and OFP:E, was developed by Bohemia Interactive Studios and published by Atari and 505 Games. The Highlighted part: Codemasters achieved the rights to use the "Operation Flashpoint" name, and BIS achieved the rights to make a successor for Operation Flashpoint Is the biggest reason for the fights between both communities. And that's the long story of the whole split up. An OFP: DR community member once said: "Girl meets boy, girl has boys baby, boy & girl fall out, Girls makes own baby with test tube, boy finds other girl." And that is a very long story as short as possible, but still true. Examples of Hostilities Besides both forums, IRC is also used as an important tool to cause troll fights. A typical example from a week ago; Someone from one of the communities went to the forum from the other communities, annoying and trying to get people angry with saying things like "Your game sucks" and then proudly went back to his community's IRC chat to show how many people he annoyed on the "opponents" forum by sending links, claiming them being dumb fanboys. This is just one of the dozens of example both communities have seen. Besides they're just immature, they also represent someone's weakness. It's easy to anger people on the internet, but what do you achieve with it? Personal satisfaction? Respect from the community you're "working" for? Now, we all know the weaknesses and arguments used against the "Opponents" game, So I don't feel the need to post them all over again, because it'll only make this thread another big spamfight, which both communities have seen too much. The goal of this thread The goal of this thread is to cease the immaturity from both sides. Although It'll be difficult, there are a couple of key parts that'll make this easier: *Both games can be considered as "Mature" games, attracting an older crowd with more experience in gaming. *Both communities are somehow looking for the same kind of game. *Both communities have experienced people that had a huge experience in mod development, key fan site leading and talking to other people over the internet (Believe me or not, that's also a skill that only a few people have) Personally, I think we shouldn't judge a game by its name, Quality and gameplay should be the primary goal from the developers. OFP2 has just as much chance to become a success/failure as ArmA 2, Both games have the ability to achieve the same level of fun and addiction as the old Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. I've spoken with people from both sides, considered as people playing key roles within their community, and they agree with this. We should try to stop the troll fights together, and try (in somehow) to reunite as one big crowd looking for the same kind of game. I won't deny I've also made non-friendly messages sometimes, and in some way, I guess all of us did, However, we shouldn't live in the past, but make now and the future a better place for all of us. To make this message effective as possible, I've decided to put it on both forums from both communities, they can be found here: To the OFP: DR community: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5393594#post5393594 To the ArmA 2 community: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1363243#post1363243 Please, don't turn this thread into another flamefight, we've got more then enough of them already. I'd rather like to see positive messages about this issue which is bothering both communities. Together we can cease the immaturity from both sides. Note 1: I'll fix any errors in the text ASAP to prevent misunderstandings and increase the readability Note 2: Admins, please feel free to move this thread to another location if founded necessary. Note 3: Please read the thread carefully before responding to it
  18. I've ordered my copy of the game at Wehkamp.nl, It's a dutch site, that for as far as I know only delivers in Belgium and The Netherlands. The price was €32,50, which I consider pretty cheap for a new, full game. Unfortunately, they messed up big time with the distribution. It was suppost to be released at 3 July (according to the site) but they'll probably deliver it on tuesday and perhaps even later this week. I'm looking forward to play together/against community members here:) By the way, is there any special server dedicated for this community??? Name : www.wehkamp.nl Price : €32,50 Availability : one week till delivered Delivery : €2,95 (deliveries in Belgium and The Netherlands) Date : Now available Notes :
  19. My system is very similar with yours Vista 32 Bit Home Premium SP2 Nvidia 9600GT 512MB 186.18 drivers Core 2 duo E6400 @ 2.13 GHz (Not overclocked) MSI MS 7318 Motherboard 2GB Kingston DDR2 6400 Default medion case, everything cooled pretty well Default Medion screen, 1280x1024 LCD I've got everything maxed out completely, I think I'd have to set somethings different to achieve higher performance. I'm now getting 23FPS in the benchmark test, which is quite reasonable for my system specifications in my opinion.
  20. Core 2 duo @ 2.13GHz Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 2GB ram Vista 32 bit Home Premium Runs very smooth at Medium, and also acceptable on high and very high:) To be honest i'm actually surprised about that, due all the comments regarding performance in the full version. I can see BIA put much effort into this demo, Despite a couple of small bugs. The parachute controls are bugged after you open the command interface, that's the only thing I've noticed so far.

    i7 + GTX295, what's the deal?

I'd just read this in a Dutch forum, ArmA 2 related: " quote: Dani86 schreef op zondag 21 juni 2009 @ 00:08: Heb arma 2 een beetje gespeeld vandaag, hij is echt superzwaar om m'n systeem. It basically says his overclock really messed up the performance in a negative way. When clocked it back to stock speeds, his FPS boosted up.
  23. Interesting Threat, I'm also a 9600GT owner. These are my specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 2,13GHz (Stock speed) Point of view 9600GT 512MB (Slightly overclocked) Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit Service pack 2 RTM 300GB 7200RPM Seagate harddisk, 175GB free 186.18 WHQL GeForce drivers 2GB DDR2 800MHz Ram With this mid-range cards, it's essential to keep all drivers up to date, since they can really mean something to the performance. This is my primary suggestion to everyone owning one of these 2 cards.

    i7 + GTX295, what's the deal?

Hey there, I've just found out that Guru3d made the 190.15 drivers available, they're originally designed for quaddro cards, however, with a easy modification, it's now capable of handling all other GeForce cards. (Guru3d already applied the fix) You can find it here: Vista/7 64 bit: http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-ForceWare-190.15-Win-7-|-Vista-(64-bit)-download-2309.html Vista/7 32 bit: http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-ForceWare-190.15-Win-7-|-Vista-(32-bit)-download-2308.html XP 32 Bit: http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-ForceWare-190.15-XP-(32-bit)-download-2307.html I couldn't find the 64 bit version for XP. It's might worth a try, so I thought I'd mention it here:D I've heard that FSAA function (Or something like that) Requires new DirectX updates, This web installer will automatically scan for new DirectX updates, It's really useful: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en (It doesn't say it does, but it also updates DirectX 10:)) About the bashing a couple of posts ago, It was absolutely unnecessary. Will I ever buy a 2000 Dollar pc? No. But if that is what other people want to do with their money, just let them do that... Also, with such systems as these guys have, running games on high should NOT be a problem. I think Bohemia Interactive has to admit something is terribly wrong with ArmA 2, this kind of performance on such computers don't have any other explanation then a bad-functioning game.

Wow, people with this kind of systems experiencing difficulties with the game? I'm now highly in doubt if my system would run it:S Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit Service Pack 2 Nvidia GeForce 9600GT Point of View 512MB Intel E6400 Core 2 duo processor @ 2.13GHz (Not overclockable) 2GB DDR2 800MHz Ram 300GB Seagate 7200RPM Harddisk 19" monitor, maximum resolution at 1280 X 1024
