Since Arma is one of the few things that have a huge influence on the choices I make on / with my PC, I would like to know if Windows 8 will be "supported" by Arma 3. Or should I stick with good ol' Windows 7 for some more time? This subject might be a bit early at this moment but nevertheless it would be good to know what BI has to say about it. Is the team already working and having experiences with the preview versions of the OS (together with Arma 3) or are they waiting for the full Windows 8 release before they even look at it? In the Arma 2 and Windows 8-topic people reported some issues but I'm not sure it it is related to Windows 8 at all or just to the fact that atm the OS still is in beta status ("Consumer Preview")...
-
Yeah, they said the same about Windows 7 when Windows XP still was state-of-the-art. At least I didn't read anything that would confirm this theory for Windows 8 (that it isn't made for gaming PCs). And also my rig is not exclusively a gaming PC (unfortunately...) - everything else runs on it too. Even though, as I wrote, Arma has a big influence on it. Anyway I hope that the game runs smooth on the OS.

Yeah, it's just the question, because Arma 2 has troubles on the OS. But it's the question if these are OS-beta related or not. I would say that this is something everyone can decide for him / herself, so it's not a kind of discussion point here, IMO. :) If I or whoever wants to buy and use it - what now? :D The original question of the thread still remains.
-
Yes, that's the man. :D Knight Sir Crowe.

Great. :) One small unimportant note: That butterfly: Is it a secret weapon or did it just slip into the wrong section? :D Also: The UGV Arma 3 link is corrupted.

By saying river I didn't necessarily mean running water which comes from a higher point. :) Thus I said "something like a river". Yeah, something like this would be enough for an underwater infiltration of the inland. The "cut" could be a bit longer though. ;) A bit offtopic but: In of Iron Front (beta) the AI crosses bridges without problems. They even do it in two lanes. So I say that the engine itself of course is capable of it. It's up to the island editor I would say - or the addon editor, in this case, as the bridge in the video is a mobile one.
-
I hope that Limnos also has something like rivers, so we could enter them from the ocean and thus even approach inland targets without being seen... :)

If I'm right, people still are trying to make the game run without issues on Win 8. See the thread about it here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?131764-Arma-2-on-Windows-8

LOL :D Those mics with fleece really are a trademark - but only with the sandals! ;) Cool pictures - thanks. That one in the snow looks like Ondrej is on a real battlefield together with the other buddy, getting pounded by enemy fire. :681:
-
I also never saw it. Are there more? :)
-
Big beer belly (not my statement, but from BI themselves), microphones covered with fleece, sandals with or without socks -I'm sure that this has to be Ondrej Matejka. :D
-
Maybe they just forgot to use this while making the video. :)

New PR special agent Dwarden is quite active, sharing some more info. :D http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/04/19/arma-iii-announces-new-island-incredible-new-video/#comment-966841 ---------------------------- http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/04/19/arma-iii-announces-new-island-incredible-new-video/#comment-966844 ---------------------------- Random guy: Dwarden: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/04/19/arma-iii-announces-new-island-incredible-new-video/#comment-966775

PC Games (German) about the new intel: http://www.pcgames.de/Arma-3-PC-236876/News/Arma-3-Neuer-Trailer-und-frische-Screenshots-zeigen-die-kleine-Insel-Stratis-878966/

It's normal Arma AI behaviour, I would say.
-
Yeah, the one with the weapon ready is super great:
-
Wow - that island is just beautiful... :) And the lightning - as the project's name says: SPLENDID... :) But where is the new info about the Community Alpha? I noticed that there are walking animations with both hands on the weapons - however I have to say that especially in terms of the walking anims (didn't see much others so far) I liked the Arma 2 ones more - please don't stone me now. In A2 they just looked a bit more... "normal" - not so "bad ass" or uber-relaxed... Just normal. Other than that - thanks a lot for the new intel! Edit: Perhaps the A2 ones looked a bit more natural because they were a little bit faster. Not sure... Love the game nevertheless. :)

Nice! Didn't know that one before! :D This.
-
Damn - it was a LONG time since I was RR the last time - but now it happened again... :( But at least it was by an BI agent. As punishment I'm listening to the whole RR video right now... :cc: Tonci - do you know ProxTube (a Firefox addon, which unlocks that GEMA shit)? EDIT: Nevermind - now I understood what you meant. :D
-
Yeah, but BI didn't say 19. of April of Clarkey's time zone - or did they? :)
-
Read RiE's post again. Edit: Ninjaed :)
-
Nice screenshot! :) :)
-
Really?? :butbut: <- search for link
-
Right - as I guessed. :) Probably some will get pissed off again if the news don't come at 12:00:00 czech time even though BI never has set the exact time.

But who said that it would be at that time?
