DayZ Zombie RPG (Unofficial Mod) Alpha

I would in contrary say that only with Arma as the engine the mod can be what it is: Successful. It's because of the realism that this engine delivers. For this reason it does very well make sense for this type of game. -

Thx, Trapper! I'll look into it and release a (hopefully) final version sooner or later. Good that you could finish the mission, thanks for the feedback.- 166 replies

Arma 2 returned to No. 1 at Steam's top sales. :D Even WITH the Dear Esther offer still being active. :) WTF!? :D -

I think that the marker showing the exact position would be a bit too much - but your idea goes in a right direction, IMO. Maybe a marker could just appear at the spot where a kill happened, not at the player's position. That would be cool - another player who has a map, can then search for the murderer and try to track him as new murder scene markers appear. -

This mod is a great Arma experience! :) Too bad that many servers crash after a while. Other than that also from me: Congratulation for this great mod which is getting much attention in the gaming scene (not only the Arma one). -
The one, single thing you're most looking forward to?

Great! I hope that some of the players who played the 1.7 version can give me a bit of feedback if they saw any bugs or something. Thanks!- 166 replies

Not at all! Many I saw are very good. And animations are not just the animations but also the programming, additions of new control possibilities and other stuff, we heard about, which will surely be great. But the team also has to live with the fact that not everything is that great (in the opinion of a number of people). But I think tehy can accept it, since things are still in development and BIS is one of the few studios worldwide that gives attention to what its community has to say.
-
BIS, you may be a bit surprised to see criticism towards the new animnations, as people cried out for new ones. But not all of the Arma 2 ones were bad. There were some that begged for new versions, but e.g. the walking animation and jogging (with rifle) were pretty good and looked very realistic. Damn, they were so great that I even remember where I saw them the first time! In the trailer about the USMC faction. Unfortunately I have to say that I can't say the same positive things about the new (armed jogging) animations. So far it does not top the old one but rather seems to be a step backwards. Of course, this is only my own opinion. I'm looking forward to see how the anims develop. Other than that the game looks absolutely amazing and it will be hard for me trying to resist to try out the Alpha! :D

[SP] For The Life Of A Friend
Undeceived replied to Undeceived's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Hello everyone. I updated my mission and the new version is in the first post. I worked on some cutscenes (and other minor parts) and removed showstoppers which a small number of players experienced. If you see anything odd or buggy left, please report back so I can fix it. Thanks and have fun playing.- 166 replies

Some great ideas in here, really! Stang69, my mission For The Life Of A Friend (see my sig) is a civilian mission too (Edit: Oh - I didn't see that MissionCreep mentioned it as well [thanks, MC]. :) ). Maybe you can find some inspiration in there as well. I think that this kind of missions still is quite underrepresented in the community, so I'm looking forward to play yours! -
Which are considered the highest-quality custom co-op missions/campaigns?
Undeceived replied to AlphaKappa's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
AlphaKappa, I think that this excludes lots of great missions for you. You should regard to buy the addon - Arma 2 is just a half game without it. -
No, that's the Arma 3 logo. Edit: Can't see anything like a jellyfish...

Was there a second ago and it worked...

Guess that mines are confirmed. :D

Great thing!! Sahrani Radio resp. Limnos Radio is definitely part of the Armaverse! :) Rock on, Jerry! -
Yeah, but nevertheless good job - e.g. that vehicle in the distance was something I didn't see before. :) And also a good explanation about the red / green lights on the chopper.
-
Hmmm - I see it. The vehicle on the distant road does not move fluently but "stutters" instead. But maybe a trailer version with a higher resolution would help here. :)
-
Or did he mean the lag that still seems to be there for ? :)Probably not. *runsaway* But seriously - I was kinda surprised to see it. What do you think about it? Video lag? Probably not. Arma 2 fixes still not implemented? Not the same kind of lag that was fixed in Arma 2 some months ago?
