if they are all working on QG and arma2 i'm assuming then that they probably dont intend to fix anymore problems with arma1, or i suppose they could include some fixes with QG

this is stupid, they release those screenies and say they're looking at a 2008 release even though arma is quite obviously flawed still. all they are doing is p!ssin off they're customer base because now how the hell are you going to know that come 2008 (prob 2034) arma "2" isn't going to be a buggy box of crap just like arma 1 was/is. wouldn't it make more sense to hold off on all the screenies and news on arma 2 untill such times that the community is happy with arma 1, that way they wouldn't have this p!ss taken out of them over their release dates. feels like we're bent over a barrel and bis are standing behind us doing the proverbial.

bobo's British DPM commandos V2!
urbanwarrior replied to bobo8767's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
ever heard of devolution, judging by your previous response i would guess not. Back on topic though, nice work and great to see some more work on british units, although the berets look a bit of, like they've put them on without soaking and shaping them first! -
Since when is my AH1Z gunner his own commander??
urbanwarrior replied to iconoclastdx's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
same problem with the gunner in the turrets of a tow equipped humvee. that and when i set my gunner to engage at will, all he does it say "target 1000yrds" he doesn't even target it! i have to go through the command menu and get him to target it, its stupid. -
does anyone find it hard to point your barrel in the right direction before hitting the weapon optics key, i end up trying to look through a scope only to find i'm zoomed in on some house somewhere and by the time i find out where i'm looking i'm dead, this is especially annoying when using the m24, by the time you've managed to get the guy in your sights he's probably run behind a building or something.
-
have to agree, not having tags is a bit annoying, especially when you cant zoom in to see if the guy running down the street is a friendly or not. Also can you call arty if your just a squad in trouble, i can get it from the humvee ok but i cant figure out how you call it when you dont have a humvee (i.e. in a town and cant move because of armour)

Shooting from LittleBird
urbanwarrior replied to Shadow_Spyder's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
there was already a huge thread on this a couple of weeks ago. would be nice to see, especially in MP, if it's hard to shoot from helo's then it will be modelled that way and its use will be limited but atleast the function would be there, besides in the old thread we established that people do shoot from helo's. -
even if the chunks had to be part off an addon it would still be quite nice if when a tower block got hit with a bomb sizeable chunks got ejected from the smoke, it wouldn't matter if it wasn't actual parts of the building because nobody would see them being created through the smoke. the bridges might be a bit of a stretch i suppose, i may carry on dreaming then!
-
i'm no expert at scripting so i'm going to ask a possibly stupid question! can this be used in its current state or modified slightly to work on buildings and bridges, for example a bridge instead off crumbling would have big chunks flying in the air after being hit with 1 or 2 LGB's, likewise for buidings. i like blowing thinks up with harriers!

urbanwarrior replied to raedor's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
does anyone else have a problem with the ch-47, i cant fly it without it looking like an foam r/c helicopter and jittereing everywhere, its very sensitive. maybe i've done something wrong? -
sniper aiming & "super" enemy AI riflemen
urbanwarrior replied to Tozzifan's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
i wouldn't worry about it mate, the very first time i started ARMA i went to the editor and set a squad of opfor on one side of the port at corozol and i sat up on the other side of the bay across the water(bout 700m away) i got 2 shots off and got shot right in the face, it was the 2nd or 3rd round to come my way and it killed me stone dead. you just get used to it after a while -
i've tried running it on my compaq v6000 (amd turion64X2, 1gb ram, 256mb nvidia) but it was unplayable. yours seems better though so you might have more luck

just for you Madmatt! look down, better?
-
so ANYWAY, does any good scripter or anyone who knows how the game engine works(limitations) know if its even possible to allow us to shoot from a moving vehicle in general, the back off a ural or a helo
-
the 50cal is next to useless, go on youtube and have a looky, you'll see what the military uses in the anti material role and it is scary powerful, in arma its pathetic. nice to look at though.
-
also you could be shooting away whilst flying only to find when you jump off the helicopter you need to reload, not very fortunate considering anyone on the opposing squad has probably turned around to try and kill everyone on the helo while there all in the one place

Ah, that reminds me... [OT] When I lived in Germany, a crocodile escaped from a zoo and pursued a reign of terror in a local park - jumping out at people and devouring a few pet doggies. Obviously suffering from a rush of testosterone to the brain, the police tried to shoot it from a flying helicopter (too scared of being ambushed by the croc on the ground probably) and fired dozens of rounds without hitting it. They were then called off because of fears that someone might get hit by a stray round fired by these nutters. They eventually heeded wiser counsel and flew in a girl crocodile from another zoo and used her as a honey-trap to entice the crocodile into captivity again. [/OT] The americans must have gator problems too because they seem to be interested in shooting from helo's aswell http://www.defensedaily.com/cgi....hot.htm

GSG9 or GSGN, whatever, i cant remember the difference, they train to fire from helicopters, they are only allowed to use 9mm para though so they use steyr's chambered for 9mm. i personally would like to see it implemented in the near future but who the hell knows whats going to happen, there's that much stuff flying about these forums about what should have been added or what should be added in the future it makes your head spin

well done on the Hind, brilliantly done! and so many variants. my only gripe, and its small, is the 23mm cannon thing is almost too powerful, it totally desimates entire villages and small towns! dont have any experience of the weapon in real life obviously so i dont know but i really do sh!t myself when i see it coming

future of destructable buildings
urbanwarrior replied to fireship4's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
i think i know the video you mean, it was a red brick wall that fell apart but it was more like a wall made off objects that just reacted to force, like setting up a row of urals then using an M1 as a bowling ball using setvelocity -
