User Add-On Guide for more Realism and Immersion (ACE2-based)
Thunderbird replied to the.d's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Sounds very good. By the way, please could you mention the newly added SLX Addons (If you added more of SLX) ? Or did you keep the same SLX Addons than the ones mentioned in the first page? Best Regards, TB -
User Add-On Guide for more Realism and Immersion (ACE2-based)
Thunderbird replied to the.d's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Hello, If you aim at combining GL3 and SLX then make sure to take out SLX_GL3 because SNKMAN GL3 system is slightly more optimised than SLX. and both do bring many similar features. Best Regards, TB -
What a tragedy... To say the least. Rest in Peace

If PR developpers found another way to hijack some scripting limitations then it's great. No need of CBA then. Otherwise, they will take their own decisions themselves according to the situations they will be encountering. Regards, TB -

Outstanding work fellas! To say the least. And good to see you around. I still remember the old days when we were working like crazy on that former P'85 Project. Things changed a lot since, heh. Keep it up. Regards, TB -
Try to grab Topas attention on your Addons. This man is more than skilled when it comes to "Textures". Nice 3D models, though. Regards, TB

Looking forward to this guide. I'm sure it will help more than one to carry out a decent combination of all these top-notch ArmA II MODS. And cheers Solus for the amazing efforts to maintain SLX development and evolution. Regards, TB

This seems to shape up rather well. By the way, just out of curiousity, what tool did you use to carry out that video? Regards, TB -
Not the "assassins" fault, but I'd rather blame the one who conducted this operation to such a failure. Regards, TB

FAFw - Forces Armées Françaises Workshop
Thunderbird replied to SoldierIsNotHistory's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I would rather call it "another mentality difference" or you may prefer "different ways to see things".. Only if they are ODOL, if they are MLOD you can edit them. And even if they are ODOL, there is still a way to modifie the textures paths with an Hexa Editor as long as you keep the same number of "modified char cases". Since the ODOL format is nothing than a binary architecture. Technically, the principle of the idea is interesting but not doable, though. Since you can decrypt anything you want. It is just a matter of time. And morally, I find it completely crazy to encrypt your models to not see them used by BIS/BIA, to say the least. Regards, TB -

What about simply starting a new French MOD from scratch, there are many talented 3D modellers here and there, this community is also full of skilled textures designers and there are many decent config specialists as well. If Fafw fellas decided to not share their stuff, (with no intent to make them look bad in a certain light), then let's make it ourselves according to our free time and abilities. Regards, TB -

The current global frustration is fully understandable but the end of the MOD in question should not get ride off the community in such a dramatic way. All in all, a pinch of hindsight is seriously needed to decide a serious policy in order to take out this kind of problems definitively. Regards, TB -

Thunderbird replied to snkman's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Outstanding work to say the least, I spent a couple of minutes reading your scripts and I appreciate the way you build them up. I would like to also highlight the way you behave SNKMAN, since you always ensure to further enhance your MOD by taking into account everyone's suggestions. All in all, keep it up. Best Regards, TB -

Thunderbird replied to SoldierIsNotHistory's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Despite what happened, I think that deciding to give up and withdrawing is not the way to follow. I understand the frustration caused by the amount of encountred issues but not releasing the Addons on which you spent a hell of time IS NOT going to figure out anything in these regards, even on the long run. With no willingness to sound harsh, and by taking into consideration all factors and all problems you had to face, I blame you for setting up a "white flag" over the hill instead of maintaining your efforts until the "public release". In my humble judgement, the wisest decision would have been to release the Addons as that would have undoubtedly avoided you to encounter so many internal/external thefts. Since everyone will be knowing that these Addons belong to YOUR countless hours of hard work. Even if your decision is fully understandable and respectable ("Louable" as we say in french) I'm deeply convinced and persuaded that your decision goes against the community as a whole and not against "The bad guys in question". Best Regards, TB -

AI Real in-game Dialog System [DSAI]
Thunderbird posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi, Here is a little conversion for ArmA II of the famous and well-coded [DSAI or Chatter System] by Wolfrug and Sickboy done for ArmA I. This Addon makes soldiers talk like in real life and according to the situations, they will shout in combat as well as they will talk calmly in IDLE situations. It includes per default English voices to US Troops (The CDF will also probably shout in english as they belong to the same side than the US, haven't check that out yet). Whereas, russians will obviously get russian voices. The installation is simple, just create a MOD folder, make an 'Addons' folder within the MOD folder and put the Addon there. Don't forget to create a shortcut. This is a BETA so it will undoubtedly not work in MP, and the Addons aren't signed. After all, it is meant to be played with the default campaign. -------------------------- Download -------------------------- All credits go to Sickboy and Wolfrug, I just converted the Addon to make it fit with the new engine. Regards, TB -
New Sound Mod in the making, slowly but surely
Thunderbird replied to chammy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Can't find any word to express my satisfaction regarding this Sound MOD. Looking forward to it more than anything else concerning ArmA 2. Keep it up Chammy. Regards, TB -
No way to read them all but you can feel the ongoing global opinion within this topic, far enough to establish a judgment about what's going on. And I do indeed disagree with some "too partial" opinions around here. If you don't feel yourself within this category then don't talk for everyone. Regards, TB
-
Definitely tired of the global arrogance here. The harsh comments concerning OFP 2 make it sound as it is the worst game ever carried out. many of the opinions here are kind of exagerated. Of course, OFP 2 doesn't reach ArmA 2 realism standards, but this is not a reason to kill the thingie as a whole since the game in question is nonethless somehow quite immersive and does at least work properly without the application of x patches. Regards, TB
-
Most of the error messages are due to the fact that the SLX MOD is not binarized. There's a serious gain in performance if you binarize the SLX Addons. Regards, TB
-
Hm, I don't think that OFP: DR is "as unrealistic" as some people try to make it sound. Of course, it won't reach ArmA 2 realism standards, but the game doesn't look to CS. Regards, TB
