I didn't mean Afghanistan area, I meant "regular winter"/snow one. He should call his pack "Soviet Winter Pack (Afghanistan)" 1.1 Regards Thunderbird84

Nice work, but shouldn't "Soviet Regular motorized infantry units" wear white battle dress uniforms instead of those you've implemented and that were mostly used in Afghanistan, though. Regards Thunderbird84

Hi all, This has nothing to do with ECP, the craters used in FFUR have been implemented only for choppers because they make more sense, but due to choppers light mass value, the crater appears very high, if we'd use it with tanks, this problem won't appear anymore but we won't do it in order to avoid 'lag' problems when there would be too much of destroyed tanks. AI aircraft units attack infantry personnel in FFUR. Will keep BIS values for AT&Law Soldiers. This needs a specifical scripting that uses the 'nearestobject' command. We try to avoid the use of AI scripts the maximum possible in order to avoid lag issues that occur in congested areas. For this reason, we have been forced to withdraw VME scripts, though. One of the two multi configs would be like that. You could use WGL Nogova, it's well done but we haven't incorporated it because of its huge size, and because it has to overwrite an important BIS file (o.pbo) as well. Best Regards Thunderbird84

Thanks for the kind words, you're all very welcome! & There would be 2 MP configs: -Config intended to dedicated servers. -Config that will allow you to play with in all severs. (The second config will replace only Firearms, human units and some effects in order to avoid getting disturbed by CTDs and issues). Will take the lifeboat out of Helicopter pilots and will make some changes as well. Unfortunately you can't run DXDLL with such a graphic card, if you wish to get some decent water reflection effects, you will have to buy at least a fifth generation graphics card. Reven is working on a small tool that will allow you to choose between SP/MP before to run FFUR Mods. Btw, I spent some hours today on some 'drop commands' lines in order to improve Tanks explosion effects to make 'em more realistic. Some shots. Now there's a black smoke that appears on tanks when they're hit. The second 3BM26 shell lets no chance to the US M60... The tank starts burning, you should see the flame's growing up... As you see, the flame's size has been decreased in order to be more realistic and less hollywoodish than the previous one... (...added a grey/black'n white smoke effect around it as well) Best Regards Thunderbird84

Hi, We will decrease (AT/Javelin/Vampire/RPG7) soldiers firing range abilities. Thanks for reporting this issue. -> Best Regards Thunderbird84

War is my best hated friend. But like a lot of people here, I try to keep informed about military stuff. Because this has been decided by BIS. Please people keep in mind that the FFUR mod is a total conversion mod, that means that our main and first objective is to replace BIS stuff by the best of OFP's community and by keeping a balance between realism and gameplay. We decided to add some 'extra' stuff in order to enjoy some people, but adding too much of units might go against the pack's envisaged size and against our 'Total conversion mod status' as well. That's why we decided to establish the compatibility of FFUR packs with extra-addons, as you can see here. ...still unfinished. Btw, We improved the 'reflection effect' by making it more dynamic and more realistic. Some shots. 'Clear Weather, in OFP's summer' You should see the brightness level differences between the top 'which's cleared by the sun' and the left flank which isn't cleared. The same here, watch carefully this hill and the Cessna wings. ...And finally Plus now people who can't run DXDLL might get some decent 'reflection effects'. Edit: Each FFUR pack has its own icon that you may use for the shorcut you've carried out. A lot of changes have been done for this purpose in order to avoid being killed by a 'one bullet-one kill'. Check out our website for more infos. The incoming expected packs will include a lot of new features, especially 'Realistic Bullets values'. Best Regards Thunderbird84

No, there aren't enough, and we've already thought about making a GWC total conversion pack, but most of iraqi addons released until now aren't quite decent to be used for such a purpose, plus a lot of them are still missing. And you have to know that OFP is totally different from BF2, it has nothing to do with it, although it appears to, but trust me, a lot of gaming-experienced people of this forum may confirm it. No. The current Chinese army (PLA) has its own weapons inspired from occidental and russian weapons, the same goes for the rest of their equipments. E.G The QBZ-95 looks like to the french Famas. The PLA Forces uniform is an US modified one. The ZTZ99 seems to be a combo of Leopard & Abrams tanks. The WZ10 looks like to the european Tiger with a french 'Dauphin' touch. ...etc This is not a bug, 'Spetznatz As val' units logically carry an As Val, but the incoming 6.0 packs will update a couple of things. (The vintorez instead of the val for FFUR 2005, the number of ammos decreased to 20...etc) You should call this 'interactivity', not realism. The animation that we will use if we would make this script will represent a '90% dead person'... just a person who's trying to still stay alive...That's why I'm defining it to be 'harsh'. Best Regards Thunderbird84

We implented the updated version of WGL mod data, now ~3 5.56x45 bullets are necessary to take an enemy out at 300 meters by aiming to the torso. ~7 9x19mm bullets are necessary to disable entirely an enemy at 30 meters. I noticed in several harsh "movies documentaries" that show some people getting executed by AKM/AK-47(7.62mm) at 5 meters, sometimes even 2 or 1 meter, people being under fire totally die after receiving as many as 10 bullets to the torso. Maybe we would make a script that makes the enemy sit down once heavly wounded, it's quite harsh as animation, though. But there are so many "realism maniacs" who would appreciate that. This matters a lot here, though. We can not make such a total conversion pack, it's totally unrealistic and it doesn't make any sense. OPFOR arabic terrorists don't have armored units or choppers. (fortunately, though) that won't be used as replacements instead of BIS ones, plus, we are focused on the new FFUR 6.0 packs now. Best Regards Thunderbird84

Hi, Thanks for the nice comments, you're all very welcome! Making a total conversion pack that uses foreign oriental countries as main theme does require a lot of work at several levels. -Political context and historian one. (In order to avoid the problems that occured a few weeks ago with our chinese friends). -Military Research to establish a list of authentic military vehicles and units of both wanted nations that may replace the BIS ones. -Then comes the "Addons selections" step. -And Finally comes the pure technical step which requires an extensive amount of work during weeks and months. We're waiting for the uncondensed version of ECP, because their current ECP scripting architecture is very complex, and breaking this complex architecture efficiently would need a lot of time. Best to wait for the proper author decent version. Fixed, wait for the incoming FFUR 6.0 packs. (Check out this page for more infos about the FFUR 2005 envisaged features.) Best Regards Thunderbird84

data/music.pbo replacement config
Thunderbird replied to redface's topic in OFP : CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
Yeah, *haven't tried it yet, but it should work* Create a new folder that will include your new songs you want to implement as .ogg. Then replace the following path by yours: <span style='color:red'>sound[]={"\O\Music\res10.ogg",1.000000,1.000000};</span> try it, if it would work then do the same for the rest of paths. Don't change the songs sound's level. Good luck Regards TB84 -
Awesome stuff as usual! Thanks for these pretty german units. Regards TB84

Well this is not a bad idea at all but you have to know that actually the majority of addons have their own class EH and their own Scripting (as smoke, cockpit actions, Lower/raise gear...etc), combining FFUR scripts and theirs would represent a big deal and a lot of time of work, plus for now, we have other objectives, though. But maybe we could do it later. Regards TB84
-
-> Definitely. Don't worry about such things, we usually don't miss'em... Regards TB84
-
They're awesome! much better and more detailed than the previous ones, btw, please can you keep the same names of textures folders. Best Regards TB84
-
I think they would prefer to keep them for Moscow... Sure. In fact we used the M60 as it was once accomplished by win$e, otherwise, thanks for the nice comments. We hope all of you would appreciate the incoming releases (and maybe the final ones for OFP...). Yes, we expect to make a new more realistic one, we're looking for some accurate pics, though. Perhaps we'd make a combo of ours CSLA retextured desert ones and theirs. Best Regards Thunderbird84

Actually the T-72 is still mostly used by the russian army and it still has a large number of T-72 variants. The same goes for T-80s. Best Regards TB84

Indeed, very nice work, glad to see so many envisaged british addons. Keep it up! Regards Thunderbird84
-
We can't add so many vehicles and such a big number of units unfortunately...but as said in the previous page, you might add any addon you wish with the incoming FFUR packs because the compatibility with extra addons has been established. This would be very nice for some weapons. Didn't know about it, Thanks for the infos. Regards TB84

Useless sarcasm... I feel you'll get a new pretty square under your avatar that will make you look better...

As I see you seem to be definitely determinated to play bull.... I don't care about your BMP and modestly some members of this team can do one thousands times better than yours. Too Much Time Wasted... Back to work now.

Have I posted these pics? Please people, if you'd expect to post some pics of FFUR then make more accurate list of credits in order to avoid to hurt the fragile sensitivity of some people... ^^ 'I'm gonna use ebns72 post as example' <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">Addons: FFUR, retaliation campaign. -> now it should be <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">CSLA Mi-17 used in FFUR 2005 Instead of BIS Hip Thank you and sorry for the disturbance. ShadowY, are you more happy now ? Thunderbird84

I've the impression that the statement was trying to make us look bad, or the intent was there... You have to know that we give credits to all people of this great community and we don't claim ourselves behind nothing except the number of hours spent in order to enhance and to replace BIS stuff. Thunderbird84

Check out this page. ...this post especially Status Quo right now, you'll be informed if there would be some changes. Regards TB84

Operation Flashpoint is the pioneer of Long range Ground-to-Ground, Air-to-Ground, Ground-to-Air, and Air-to-Air simulation games that will be published within the next years. wanna get a more immersive ofp experience? simple, increase your ammos dispersion value....:-) Regards TB84

Definitely. we won't replace the Mi-17 by the Mi-26 because it carries no rockets and it might break a couple of BIS missions. We expect to implement Spetznatz shilka instead of BIS one for Both themes (85 and 05), the Tunguska won't fit because it's too powerful and using it means that we're forced to add the linebacker for the US side. And this is not a good idea because the 2 SAM vehicles carry a bunch of efficient GAM. Check out this page for more infos about the envisaged changes and enhancements. Well following the fact that we expect to establish the compatibility of FFUR packs with "Extra" stuff, then we won't have to include so many addons that won't be used in BIS missions & campaigns. you could do it yourself, though. (just by extracting the .pbo to your ffur...\addons or Res\addons ...etc).- One of our main objectives is to keep FFUR packs the lighter possible. (that's why we incorporated only a few & light "extra" units into FFUR packs). Btw, thanks T80 for that mission, I'll give it a look ASAP. Regards TB84
