  2. Since I have not been actively maintaining The FAQ and my site in general for some 2 years now, I will be changing my domain's hosting account to something simpler and less expensive that will not be able to handle hosting all the pages and files I am currently hosting. This change will take effect a few days prior to the end of March 2007. Please feel free to copy anything currently available from my site. If you publicize any copied materials, I ask that you please note that the materials are courtesy of TheAvonLady.Org. I'm not disappearing off the face of the Internet. Only my site's content is.
  3. Edit: The Retaliation Campaign in English is now available from the Retaliation Campaign site. This thread was originally started before the English version's release. ====================================== I was told that the long awaited Retaliation Campaign has already been released. It's supposed to be a big 130MB+ file. It includes what I've heard described as professional voice acting. Just one problem for many of us: all the text (messages, dialog, briefings, overviews) is in Russian. Remember this thread? Well, looks like no one bothered to get the material translated. Which is a real pity because one of the things most lacking is a seriously well done campaign from the Russian side. I hope this thread gains the attention of someone on the Retaliation team.
  4. UPDATED JAN. 30, 2005 Chose one of the following versions: Download The Avon Lady's "Pigs Can Fly" Campaign (green A-10s only) Download The Avon Lady's "Pigs Can Fly" Campaign (includes gray A-10s - susceptable to CTDs) Other than the color of the A-10s, there are no differences between the above two campaign versions. Some post-release notes: 1. View distance is set up to 2000 meters in missions. If your PC cannot handle it, sorry. 2. Beta testers must download again the campaign file, the Avon AMORE Addon Installer and the Avon AMORE Multimedia Installer. The Avon AMORE Multimedia Music Installer does not have to be downloaded again. 3. The Avon AMORE Multimedia Music Installer is about 17MB and is optional but it would be a pity to run those cutscenes without it. IMPORTANT: If you are experience crash-to-desktops (CTDs) in the following missions, this might be due to a CTD bug associated with the existing version of Diesel's gray A-10 models: Odyssey cutscene. Hog Heaven. Pig Out. Pig In A Poke. High On The Hog. If you encounter CTDs in these missions, try restarting them. If the problem continues, download the campaign version containing only green A-10s. That should do the trick. Of course, read the ReadMe: UPDATE: There is now a VBS1 mission pack version available of the "Pigs Can Fly" Campaign missions. Details on this VBS1 forum thread (registered members only).
  5. For an SP mission, when a condition is true, I want to create an AI plane at a specific location, name it, have it start off flying at 3000 meters, set it to engage at will and assign to it seek and destroy waypoints. All I need to know is how? Yes, I've searched but I'm only finding bits and pieces. TIA.

Pentagon ‘three-day blitz’ plan for Iran

Clarification: what I meant was that the CNN link - at least for me - shows nothing but a very mellow, even bland, introductory page for Newt Gingrich. (What shows for you at CNN may be affected by whether CNN cookies are allowed or not). That's why I posted the YouTube link, assuming that's what's being referred to above. And that video is indeed most interesting.

I don't know what's so interesting about that CNN Gingrich page. Was it originally pointing to ? Newt Gingrich gets it.

The Avon Lady's OFP FAQ will be shutting down

I have been out of gaming for quite some time now both because of real life demands and also because my Dell XPS notebook has overheating spasms now and then. I hope to find free time for getting back to gaming once Vista becomes stable and new generation high end notebooks are available to take advantage of Vista. So I should be back in 20 years. I'll be around.

    Goodbye Placebo

Oooh, I'd like to see a pic of Blackdog as drama queen! I can't get the tune of Streisand's "Memories" out of my head now - and I don't even like Babs! Now that Pan is a full fledged OFP addon, I'm hoping that Blackdog will devote his modmaking abilities to another favorite of his, Tiny Tim. Oh. Hi Ralph. Placebo, you will be sorely missed. Thank you for all your years of forum posting, moderate moderating (well, sort of) and you numerous contributions to the OFP community. I much enjoyed your online and offline posts. Be successful and happy in all your endevors, wherever you may go. Max res!

    The Middle East part 2

So your contrary report makes it a must believe? This is stupid. Translation: " I can confirm that this incident has happened" Source? Couldn't find it at the German Defense Ministry. Source? What regrets? What did Peretz say? Source? If the incident did take place, big deal. If it wasn't warranted, I'd like to see whoever was in charge get a severe whipping. And if it was warranted, I would like to understand why. Still waiting for your sources. I never saw anyone claim that they did. Did you? What for? And again, Source? Anyway, this is where I must get off today.

    The Middle East part 2

No again. From the IDF's spokesperson: The IDF denies firing at a German Navy vessel Thursday 26/10/2006 09:18 IDF spokesperson wishes to clarify that, contrary to media reports, the IDF did not fire at a German Navy vessel. Yesterday morning, October 24th 2006, a German Naval vessel and helicopter were identified off the cost of Rosh Hanikra. The helicopter had taken off from the ship without prior coordination with the IDF (as is standard). As a security measure IAF aircraft were diverted to the area in order to investigate. Â The IDF stresses that at no point did IDF aircraft fire at the German forces.

    The Middle East part 2

No. A helicopter started from a ship to conduct area surveilance and the procedures were followed literally and Israeli authorities have been informed. The helo was not violating Israel´s northern coast, it was in open waters at the Lebanon coast. As the helo had his transponder activated, it would have been no problem to see by shape and profile and tzransponder signal that the helo was friendly and member of the UN mission. Israeli planes then went over the ship, fired shots and deployed countermeasures. This is confirmed by crewmembers of the ship in question. Keeping in mind that isreali airforce has somewhat a bad record lately (taking out watchpost of UN forces ilegally) you can be lucky that they haven´t got shot down. No. IAF denies firing on German warship By JOSH BRANNON AND JPOST STAFF In the wake of the controversy surrounding reports of IAF fighter jets firing on a German warship, <span style='color:red'>IDF sources on Wednesday denied that any shots were fired but admitted that on Tuesday morning there had been an incident in which a German helicopter took off from a warship off the Lebanese coast in an area where, according to agreements, it was required to declare the flight to the IAF. Since the helicopter failed to follow this procedure, the IAF scrambled its fighter jets towards the area but the problem was solved without confrontation and without any shots being fired, the IDF reported.</span> Earlier, Defense Minister Amir Peretz spoke to his German counterpart Franz Josef Jung and vehemently denied reports that the IAF had shot on a German naval vessel off the Lebanese coast. <span style='color:red'>The IDF Spokesperson's Office released a statement stating unequivocally that "contrary to reports, the IDF did not fire at a German warship."</span> "The defense minister clarified to his German counterpart that Israel did not fire any shots on German planes or ships," said a Defense Ministry statement. "The defense minister declared that Israel had no intention whatsoever to carry out attacks against German forces," continued the statement, adding that Peretz had stressed to Jung the need to "increase cooperation both directly and in the framework of the UNIFIL peacekeeping force." A German naval task force led by the frigate Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is off the coast of Lebanon seeking to prevent weapons smuggling as part of the UNIFIL peacekeeping force set up to secure a UN-brokered cease-fire that ended 34 days of fighting between Israel and Lebanon-based Hizbullah guerrillas in southern Lebanon on August 14. Peretz and Jung are scheduled to meet in Israel next week. AP contributed to this report

    The Middle East part 2

How do you make your conclusions up? They're amazingly creative. Since the Oct. 25 news item, the IDF has issued a clear denial that any shots were fired. The German government has not disputed this. It was also stated that Jets were scrambled because pre-established notification procedures were not followed by the German navy and the planes were sent to investigate the aircraft that suddenly appeared very close to Israel's northern coast. Much ado about nothing, thank goodness.
