    Clafghan Map 20x20 Beta Release

    Yes Icebreakr is a must aswell...But a Kubal Map.....Wow thats one map that should have been made by BIS, It probly is one of the most important areas in Afghanistan(Even still at this time), Its the Capital, and has the U.S. Embassy(C.I.A. HQ) and many SF operate out of there! But if this map is ever made please place the city and Hugh Airbase in the middle of the map! P.S. I am down to help build this map, I can do alot of the building placement in Visitor..Plus my OCD makes sure everything is as accurate as can be, and i can build accurate Bases, specially if its a RL base. And i had familly there so i can get photos! Dave,

    F/A-18 Super Hornet

    Nice work Meatball! Anyway to have then in seprate PBO's so as we dont have to have many F-18s in one pbo(USN/USMC/RAAF) to save on addon space? Just a suggestion, love the jets! Thanks for all you hard work!

  4. Yeah you pretty much read my mind. But NO ADDON! I want this too work with any mission, and if i could have it in only one .sqf file that would be great(I already got atleast 15-20 scripts in my template)! If it makes it easier...it dont have to tow the wreck back(Altho that would be alsome), maby just delete it permently...or if its one that has the Vehicle Respawn script attached too it, it can respawn once its been deleted by the Salvage Truck(?) But again due to me not really knowing how much of my dreaming can be done in this game....i dont know what i want so this thread is more of an idea too i guess!

I would like they to rome around the map(Most likely from Airbase to Airbase..if possible) and or just search/come to destroyed vehicles and make them disapear(?), more or less a realistic way to have destroyed vehicles be removed from the map, unlike Warfare, i guess it would be pointless for money to be made from this but maby a way for them to return back to base once they do so! Its hard to explain exactly what i want as I am not too sure what can be done with my situation, as I am not too sure the limitations of this situation on the game engine, if you understand what i mean!

  7. I am not very good at scripting and still after many hours of reading dont totally understand how this all works! I am having a problem getting the "BIS_fnc_Crows" and "Bis_fnc_Flies" to work! I dont really understand much of what the BIS Wiki says, and not sure if I understand..if at all, what I am doing with this Crows/Flies Function! In the bis wiki it says something about an "Array" or "Position" to use as of means for them to work(Crows/Flies), so another question is, is "deadBodys" an Array...meaning can that work as a way for the engine to classify anyone killed(even during game) to be a possible position for the Crows/Flies to Spawn/Go to?

  9. This is very interesting however very confusing for someone with limited scripting knowlege! So i have a question? I have an Enemy Camp(3 tents/3 trucks and a fire place)! Is it possible to beable to use this Function to write a simple script that will search for a "Random" and "Flat" place to place my Camp with in a Marker zone? My goal is to have a few randomly spawning camps in the Mountains inwhich will Spawn Enemy troops. And even more, it would be nice to have it so the Enemy Camps keep spawning Enemy Troops till the Enemy Camp is destroyed, maby work by having the script look for all 3 tents to be destroyed, and once destroyed, no enemy troops can be Randomly Spawned???
  10. Sorry if I break any forum rules but I am having a problem getting the "BIS fnc Crows" to work! I dont really understand much of what the BIS Wiki says, and not sure if i totally understand..if at all, what im doing with it this Crows Function!     F/A-18 Super Hornet

    Hi Meatball and fellow comunity members, due to me trying this whole "becoming a FireFighter thing" i have not been around alot but was so happy when i had a break and got to play Arma2 a bit, and this F-18 being the first thing i reached for im honored to say this is an amazing contrubution to our comunity! however one simple question, NOT that i have anything againsts Mykes great ol' mighty GLT_Missilebox, is there away for those of us whom would like to play this great addon with the less amount of MB possible to have a simple version with just standard BIS loadouts? i can easily create that myself however in the sake of me ever releasing any of my atleast 200 some missions(30-40 of so with your f-18 in it) it would be nice to have a version that when/if i release i would not have to change things around, or incase i play my missions online with others. So if you could do that, it would be great! And possibly without your nicly made pilot! just a F-18 with stock BIS loadouts and pilots??? ...Odly this next next question might be in the other direction, but could you also release a replacement version of your pilots so that all jets in Arma2/OA can use them stock? Dave, EDIT: Btw i meant No Offence what so ever, sorry if i came off rude..im just short of time atm! also if you need help with anything and i have time please be sure to send me a shout, im not too skilled in anything but have basic knowlege of most things(configs,models and so forth)!

    required spec's

    Damn, see i really have no idea about specs much! but i spent alot of money getting mine upgraded just last Febuary! and even tho most of my specs seem to be good for ArmA 3, i still don't get the best game play with my specs in ArmA 2/A2: OA! So it kind of makes me worried about ArmA 3! Can someone..hopefully a BIS DEV, or someone who knows alot about computers, tell me if ArmA 3 will work on my System? and if so should i beable to play on High/Very High Settings???   14. damn i had forgot about this map till i saw the pics on armaholic! looking outstanding! P.S. watch this vid, its chilling how realistic this map is compared to real life! this shows a good bit of the terrian and gives you a good taste of the atmostphere of Oruzgan's Shahidi Hassas area! and you can see how thick and lush the greenzones are/can be. http://wn.com/uruzgan?orderby=viewCount Oh and has any work on the U.S. Firebase(Cobra) started yet? would really love to have a nicly put togather firebase/fob thats very realistic, with proper use of the hescos and barracks/preperation areas and all other acompanying facilitys that can be found on bases of that size! becuase honestly im getting tired of the "OFP russian style square bases" thats been built on takistan lol!     Aircraft Carrier and more

    if your using the nimitz addon, then u should beable to place any BIS towing tractor on the carrier and it should altimaticlybeable to tow aircraft with a script built into the carrier! However unfuntunitly it does not work for me and the carrier seems to freeze my game after about 5-10mins of playing, causing me to have to ctrl + alt + Delete out of the game!

    How old are Arma2 Players?

    21, spent 2 or so years active duty(USAF) and had been in military programs/schools since i was about 11/12 including many types of offical and non-offical military based programs including ROTC..Civil Air Patrol..and much more! those times of being a soldier(or thinking i was) instead of being a kid(as i should have), really payed off cause i was a SSGT right before i left the military... but i feel as im going to die young...since war didnt get me, i figure Cancer eventually will...got me scared of the sun and shit..and gots a big ass scar across my stomach as proof we are not invinceable..even at a young age! so all you guys whos complaining about being old.....be happy you made it that far! most of my dear friends and squad mates died before they was ever 25...and i myself probly wont live that long and my doctor said i got to have tests and get checked out ever 3-6mounths of my life till i die..so i got the feeling death is speeding my direction.. so everyone who feels ashamed to admit there old and has no life other then the one bis gave ya...be happy hahahaha! oh and i had a girl..im sure arma was one of those reasons she left me..... time to go get drunk(cause im legally allowed to now lol), and fall into my "self-pitty"/Depression state lol...oh arma2 here i come...i can always respawn in that life..   18. would any body like to see possibly USAF CSAR units with "UN peace Keeping" gear on? as maby a "extra", To: icebreakr From: USA...with love, USAF CSAR boys lending a hand to the growing Lingor/Duala conflict! if so then maby i try to do a lil something for icebreakr, as a gift for his great gifts to us. but keep in mind my skills are very limited and my USAF Units are only basic OA Delta Force reskins, but i would love to make a pack of them with UN/PK's gear and a Lingor/Duala confict patch on there uniforms? if i can do anything else or help in any way let me know!     BIS community is steadily growing!

    damn...my storie my be a bit more wild lol! for me i had no interest ingames(still dont..btw Arma2/OA's not a game to me, but a life style)! but when my life and dumbazz choices led me down a long dark road to hell, and "bad choices" to sell and smoke too much weed, got me locked up...my mom punished me and left me with only a magazine to read..thankgod it was a military magazine that had an article about OFP, and i begged my mom to buy me the game or to let me get work it off while one spring break from school(was only like 11-12yrs old when OFP came out)! because of that tho, it keep me hooked(but on something good lol)! OFP plus my grandfather/cusins/uncles was the main reason i ended up joing the military(well started off with military programs, schools, USAF Aux. C.A.P.ext.) but then from that i later joined the USAF! so i owe you a big thank you BIS..really, alot of the ppl i use to hang with back then are all locked up and a few killed over drugs/gangs...thanks BIS, and a big thanks from my mom aswell lol!

    USS Nimitz - WIP

    hey just as a suggestion, and again only a suggestion, and i'm sure this will be very hard and time consuming but maby for the inside you could possibly model out all or most of the rooms(or atleast start with the actual layout of the inside..like troop compartments/housing/briefing rooms/and hopefully mess hall) and then just have only a few of them rooms open(modeled out) and the rest just a closed door! now since that may not be understandable to others as this is my fantisy lol, so heres a example! Say your walking down a hallway and you turn into another hallway and on each side thiers 5 doors(meaning thier should be 5 rooms) but only 2 of the doors can be opened(the other 3 doors permently closed..and not actually modeled/cut out of the model itself(the ship model). just the door itself modeled..meaing the room behind the door isnt there, but the "Closed Door" gives you the illusion thiers actually a room behind the "Closed Door"! now i know nothing what soever about carriers lol specially the inside like the housing..offices...messhall...ext. or even how its all layed out(id figures its just a bunch of hallways in sections with rooms lol)! anyways if you make it like i suggested and with your talented skills..you could probly sculpt the entire inside out..and it might not take tall that time or has too much poly's(?)! i dont know sorry its just one of them things where from sitting here board and in a dream land, and i kinda had a vision of who this would playout(of course as in RL it wont..these things never do lmao)! well goodluck and whatever approach you take in making(or not making) this out, then no matter cause the quility and and usefulness of this addon already exceeds the max of allowed alsome'ness in arma2 addons lol! EDIT: this vid shows somegood views of inside a carrier, and thankfully for you, in most rooms its pretty bare, so you dont need to model too much! goodday, Dave
  21. if you guys get time it would be nice to have a LHD/LHA to have some where to put the LCAC! maby you guys can ask BIS for permissions to edit thier LHD? im not sure on how that works but i do know some comunity members have been give special permissions to edit and publicly release modified Arma2 models(as addons obviously)! or maby JDog can work with you guys on getting a proper Tarawa Class LHD in the works so it matchs JDogs sexy Nimitz Carrier...and the HMS of course!

    nice to finally beable to have a sort of personalitly in one of our most beloved addon makers! now i feel more connected to the map/addons cause i feel as if i know the great IceBreakr now, instead of only a mysterious forum member...behind a forum name lol! also just wanted to say my thanks for your alsome work bro! keep it up your talent is definitly needed and will be always welcome! and even tho your Know for your wild and exotic maps...i bet your skills could also make great althentic and realistc Afghan Maps! so whatever maps we soon are graced with will be amazing no matter the style of the map! P.s. the "F-18" is from my buddy NZDF Crash, for his ANZAC mod...the other "F-18" seen in the comunity is also for a outstanding mod(can anyone say PRACS)..by a outstanding addon maker and friend as well! and maby an U.S. Navy one from me.....but just maby Duala has a new fighter...maby??? anyways sorry to go Off-Topic! @IceBreakr check your inbox bud..im sending you a PM really quick! got a question for ya!
  23. nice update Darkxess! my only suggestion is to please make this as acurate as posible..lol no shortcuts or adding stuff not there in RL! obvously OA has a lack of buildings so i know many will be the same buildings used, but actually thats realistic hahah because thats how it is in rl...both A-stan and everywhere else in the world, the area i live in has 3-4 main type of houses that makes up my community lol! but anyways bro love your work, and im trying to not be picky but out of many maps out or WIP, most of these specially "Kandahar" is a very important map(meaning as far as in RL terms) not that its more important then the other beautiful Arma2 maps! its just that Kandahar is a strategic important location in A-stan its also the home of...and place of origin for the "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan" AKA Taliban's government! anyways goodday bro hope to see the fully potential of this map!   24. wow im so glad im too young to have a heart attack cause i was sure i was about to have one lol....that is truly outstanding and made my day...no i mean week, that made my week lol! and bro you most really....really need to make a proper "Tora-Bora" map based on all exact terrain and mountains heights and sizes/shapes so we can have the very....very important use them beautiful caves which is was tora-bora was most famous for considering that was about to be bin ladens last stand and he also built them caves him self(mostly), for the war with the russians and for the war now!
