He could mean the poor AI that goes prone and does 100 press ups before mounting a vehicle. Or perhaps the AI that just goes prone and won't find cover when being attacked by a tank. ;) For all the wonderfull experiences I have had with the AI in A2, it has also frustrated the hell out of me. As did the AI in Arma and Operation Flashpoint.

ATTN NOOBIES! - New to ArmA II or OA - Here's the place for your questions
stun replied to wraith_v's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Yeah... umm I'm aware of the fact that I could drive it myself or use the editor, but that still doesn't address the fact that you can't order units to move at different speeds when playing other peoples missions. I can't even begin to imagine why BI hasn't included a movement speed command in the menu. -

Anyone know how to get the driver of a vehicle under your command to drive slowly to a location that you have designated? The Slow foward "Q" order isn't much use as the driver stops heading towards the destination and drives slowly in a straight line. I'm no BI noob as I have been playing their games since 2002. As far as I can tell the ability to order your vehicle to proceed to a destination at a slow or fast speed without waypoints is not possible in any BI game. I'm hoping I'm wrong. -
[SP Combined operations] Operation Sandstorm
stun replied to Vicarious's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Great mission! I felt you got the balance spot on for a spec op mission, just the right amount of enemies. Keep them coming! -
I had fun playing it. Although it was a bit confusing to start with. It's finished in the sense that it plays through and ends unlike the unfinished low level hell mission from A2.

So far it is the first and only mod I have used with OA. Thanks again kju!

NP. Glad you got it working in the end. -

stun replied to chacne's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Are you running windows 7? So it isn't creating a folder with the same name as the pbo in the same directory then? Did you try running the cpbo exe with admin rights? Right click cpbo exe and select "run as..." (in xp). You could try using eliteness instead http://dev-heaven.net/projects/mikero-pbodll/files -

Nah, that would be illegal I think. Talk me through step by step how you installed cpbo and then how you tried to extract the pbo. What OS you using by the way? -

What version of cpbo are you using? I managed to do it using Version: 7.7.2010. -

Have you run the cpbo exe and associated it with pbos? The way I use cpbo is to right click on the pbo I wish to extract > open with > cpbo. -

I have already done it using cpbo. -

They are in the missions_e.pbo. Make sure you use the latest version of cpbo to extract them as older versions don't seem to work properly with oa. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=411 -
GLT FLC (FLIR & Countermeasures) (requires A2 + AO content)

Great job Legislator. Anyone else having issues with UH-1Y and this mod; when I have this mod running I can no longer fire the Hydras? -
Which recoil model do you prefer?
stun replied to celery's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Surely it is still realistic if muzzle rise is automatically compensated for. The more muzzle rise a particular weapon exhibits the longer you wait between shots/bursts. People who love having to manually drag their mouse down must have bigger mouse mats than me. I have a laser mouse so I have to lift my mouse quite high to re centre on my mat - this gets quite tedious after a while. -

stun replied to celery's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
@Hunin I agree with you mate. It was an oversimplification on my part as muzzle climb is not the same as recoil, but they are connected. But this is a game after all. I don't want to spend all evening dragging my mouse down my desk. -

stun replied to celery's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Just out of curiosity why are so many people voting for option 2? And before you say "it's more realistic" please take into account: 1. By all accounts modern assault rifles recoil backwards not upwards 2. A little thing called gravity pulls the gun down automatically. I would much rather as people have already suggested that the recoil automatically re-centres the gun, but with a slight randomised offset - so you have to fine tune the aim. -
Looks like I'm on my own on disliking the new recoil. What exactly is so exciting about having to wrestle your mouse? It's not like it is adding realism. It's pretty extreme compared to the arma recoil model - fire off two clips and you are pointing at the sky.
-
Eek. Not liking the new recoil. I thought the vanilla OA recoil was fine. Is the change in the Beta deliberate or a bug? Perhaps someone can correct me on this but don't most modern assault rifles kick back but not up?

Strange that amazon UK didn't know about this until today, and play.com still don't seem to know. Has it been published anywhere that the official UK release date is different to the rest of Europe? I might check with my local hmv and see if they are getting it in and pick it up on Friday.
-
Hmm and I was thinking about canceling my amazon order and getting it from spocket.....

Does anyone have any idea why amazon uk have pushed their release date to 2 july? Amazon.de and .com are still on for 29 June. Is it a distribution problem?
