Not sure about that (at least in my case), the fog in 1.08 looks the same as 1.07.54 i.e not too bad but still present, it was certainly worse in 1.05 and before. I would say its no longer a critical bug but its still annoying for the people that have it.

Actually its not so bad once you get off the mountains and the game does look rather good and with those settings its so smooth even in towns, I can live with it now the game seems so much faster and stable like I said its just annoying that slight haze/fog is not there on older cards. I just want some people who say there is no fog with their 8800 to post some screen shots.

It is not normal, check a screenshot of someone using a 7900 or many other gfx card and you will see the difference, I just want to find out how some 8800 users claim they dont have this problem, ok so its not an unplayable problem but its very annoying having a good gfx card and having to put up with it when old cards dont.

Well I would not describe mine as little fog, I think a little is normal in the distance. 2.5km vd 4km vd All fog bars set to lowest 12:30pm.

Well I dont get it, the only difference is I have a GTS and that I have german online release, though I doubt that should make a difference?, can you provide a screenshot please, not that I dont believe you I just want to see the difference from mine. I might re-install the game later but I only have 1 go left then I need to email the muppets again for another code.

Which driver are you using if any of you have found a fix for this.. the 1.08 patch seems to make the game run 200% smoother but still this damn fog/haze is killing me... please help!!.

Still foggy........... Must say performance seems way better but I wont say I'm impressed until further testing is done. But the damn fog man so irritating!!!!!!!!!!!

lol some people still trying to blame hardware or overclocking for the problems with Arma.. its the game.. get over it, I gave up weeks ago. 500 bug fixes is great, shame is has thousands of bugs though.

Yeah dont buy ATI because the Nvidia 8800 series run Arma so smoothly.

Its more luck than anything it seems as I've tried pretty much all the drivers, some people seem to say everything runs fine then others like me get nothing but endless problems (lod,ctd etc etc) you've just got to pray you are one of the lucky ones, the game is unplayable for me.

Well the "hotfix" is cold for me.

Why the hell are we still beta testing this game 6 months after release?, I know the BIS fan boys will make excuses but really its starting to wear a bit thin now. I loved OFP and played it for many years but Arma really is a shambles at the moment, its a big problem because not everyone is like me or some others on here and will keep trying to get it working, the less determined out there will give up and before long there will be many empty servers.

Well I knew 5 minutes was not reliable.. went online after about 10mins I get triangular AH6 then the hdd spamming returns.. problem not fixed, I really should have given up by now.

1st impressions (5 min quick test) - no more hdd spam and no texture problems yet.. - the fog is the same as the previous beta I think but still a little hazy compared to older gfx cards I hope I dont need to edit this post but I fear I will do..

Its bs anyway because you need a legit unique cdkey to play online, are people really going to "pirate" the game just for sp?, these companies are so full of it, I made a mistake buying the metaboli release online because I couldn't wait but I wont be making the same mistake twice.

lol heard that sort of comment so many times now. This game seems extremely random, people keep posting how they fixed the 8800 issues by changing HDR setting etc but none of this helps for me even the old beta patch crashes.

Tried everything my 8800GTS (320mb) just wont run 1.07 properly at all. If you are having problems I suggest you give up and wait in the hope that BIS fix things in the next patch because believe me its not worth wasting your time over.

Arrrgh I copied your settings Lee_H and no hdd spam or texture errors but then I get the dreaded CTD instead. *sigh* hdd spam is back knew it was too good to be true.

Nope, thats XP Pro (32 bit) with a 8800GTX and the 165.01 beta drivers. Well I dont know how you've completely got rid of fog, I've just installed those drivers and as you can see there is still more fog than yours. I tried changing HDR back to 8 no change either still white mountains, ffs now you've got me going again lol, I thought everyone at least had "slight" fog using 8800, this game is just too damn random.

wtf that is proper fixed!?. You must be using Vista?.

Vista/XP? Driver? I am going to guess at Vista as most people seem to be having problems are using XP..

That is not foggy?. This is the original fog bug , its better now but not 100% fixed.
