I keep getting random crashes, it seems to be about 1 hour into gameplay although that might be coincidence, starting to really annoy me now.. it seems the person I play coop with on older pc gets none of these issues.. I'm getting another gfx card (and some ram) tomorrow and hope that may fix it, if not then I am really out of patience with this game, before anyone says "its a beta patch blah blah" I also had problems with other patches and of course I dont want the fog back. It just seems to me this game prefers older gfx cards (7950 ideal) and/or AMD CPU.

Just loaded a coop map with loads of harriers on and that caused arma to show weird textures and then crash...

I have not tried -vm108 I will try it thanks.

Agreed, the only thing that bugs me about the planes is they are too easy to shoot down, I mean they often get taken down by MG fire which I think is quite silly, choppers fair enough but taking down a jet doing 300mph+ with mg fire..???

I doubt it as the gfx card would be a big bottle neck there, you would do better if you went for something like 8800GT with 512mb.

Was just thinking of upgrading to 8800gtx or Ultra to get more performance in Arma, currenty I have 8800gts 320mb which I think the VRAM is a bit low for Arma, anyone done a similar upgrade?. I dont know what is going on with ATI at the moment so not considering them unless someone can tell me any different.. Thanks.

What the hell gfx card have u got? mine starts to get choppy around 6000m, I think it maybe cos it's only 320mb.

Roger that. I suppose the only good thing is there might be some good coop missions made ready for when/if I finally play Arma again (not played for about 6 months due to bug). I could not give a flying duck about VON. So bored of waiting now and this has certainly damaged my faith in buying BIS products.

Kindly shut up if you are just here to say things like "its not a big deal", I have stopped playing Arma partly because of this bug and still play OFP. Yes it doesn't matter... if you are blind.

Anyone who uses that saying deserves a slap. Too late anyway now, Arma is dead and as for Arma 2 well I know I wont be rushing to buy it.

Yep and in the end it was a big let down, thought I would be playing this game for years, not played it for more than about 1 month.

Yep "done when its done" but the game is already "done" for me and I dont think they'll be many full servers anyway for long.

Well he did post a video in fairness, but really its too small and blurry to tell whether there is a difference or not.

Suspicious because people have already made some posts about fog being fixed and not once has it been the case, and then others have claimed it has been fixed but suddenly they go quiet when you ask for screenshots, weird but true..

That video still looks a bit foggy to me, post a screenshot please and then I can tell you if its cured or not..

No one with an 8800 has cured the fog problem, I've heard many people claim they have but never provide any evidence. Please BIS hurry and release 1.09 so we can stop wasting time reading pointless threads from noobs.
