I asked about this in the FFUR 2007 thread. The chinook had some bugs about troops refusing to exit or something along those lines. @Universal Is it really necessary for all those additions? I understand adding a few as bonus but the mod is after all Flash Fx Unit Replacement. But it's up to Thunderbrid84.

So why did the Moscow cellar story get good coverage if it isn't that important? What about the massacres in Yugoslavia? What about Hitler? Wasn't that important? It surely doesn't affect my daily routine. Genocide of American Indians: http://hnn.us/articles/7302.html http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/warstat0.htm#America No, there is only one meaning of liberalism. However, you don't have to be a liberal if you call yourself a liberal and vice versa. And again, I'm not saying that all press is acting the same way even if it's liberal. But there's a tendency to, and that's enough. It is of great importance for getting the big picture. And if you report about Stalin or Yugoslavian mass-murders, why not report about South Korea? I've read many history books, but it's the same thing with history books as with news. You can't go OT in the first post. Indonesia is relevant because it's an expression for the same phenomenon. Nobody knows about it but all know about North Korea. You have to realize that the news are biased from a liberal western point of view. And that people in our western society get brainwashed by getting fed by the "unbiased" information channels from kindergarten and up. That is the most important point here. The rest is just an argument for that. I think the facts presented in this topic confirm an interesting theory by Noam Chomsky. Wiki Excerpt: That theory sums how things work pretty well in my opinion. It's a question of economical interest. If people analyzed their and other peoples part in society I'm sure the society would look very different from today. Again with the answering questions with questions. Never heard of the Moscow Cellar story. Yugoslavia, which I'm assuming you mean in the 1990s, got lots of covergae by the media because it was a CURRENT EVENT at that time. Hitler and World War 2 COMPLETELY CHANGED THE WORLD while The Korean War did not completely change the world. Yes WW2 was important. It may not shape your daily routine today but it made it. Do those articles defend that those mass cullings? Advocate? No. Of course not. Unlike you defending Stalin's mass executions you sicko. The meaning of Liberal can change across the world. For example some Americans treat the word Liberal like the F word. Some in America think that the word Liberal is somewhat similar to communism in that it would destroy their traditional culture. You can go OT in the first post. The thread title is explicitly The Korean War and yet you bring up Indonesia. Second of all this discussion we are having is about the media. Which has nothing to do about The Korean War. Of course the news is biased as I JUST SAID THAT. Oh my god, did you even read what I posted? Nothing can be unbiased. Everything is biased to an extent. A newspaper from the west is going to be sympathetic to the west while a newspaper from N.Korea will be completely supportive to communism because it is controlled. I know the mass media is biased. Murdoch has a huge influenece in the world and his media will always back his personal views. I know this you do not need to explain it to me. History books are the best. Not them all of course but most are 100 times beter than the media if you want to gain an understanding of the world today.

Here are a few favourites of mine. Empire by Kasabian Empire is an excellent video. Live Forever by Oasis Little by Little by Oasis Oasis have to be one of the greatest bands ever. Hard-Fi are right up there with Oasis in my opinion.

Baff1 reminds me of some people I have met in the local pub. Ill be having a pint at the bar and some bloke will start talking about Iraq and the 'Stan and he will say something to the effect of 'We should just drop a nuclear bomb on 'em all.' And I'll reply, 'That's the solution is it? Start a global nuclear war.' To which I will get a blank stare.

Didn't you read what I typed? This news would only be given good coverage in S. Korea given it was an imortant part in their history. Most people in the west would not regard this as important as it does not really affect them. Unlike the recession which has recieved extensive coverage. 20 million Indians? Got a source? That would have been a massive chunk of the world population at that time. I would also add that this news came from a source you would call 'omfgz evil Liberalz' (which by the way means different things in different countries). If I was to post a similar article where a mass grave was found where the people had been killed by communists you would simply mouth it off as a 'liberal propaganda'. Secondly you always ignore, or go as far to defend, attrocities committed by Left Wing regimes (such as Stalin murdering a huge number of his own populace by claiming it was defending the revolution - which is just utter nonsense). While the people who posted in this thread do not defend any mass murder by Western governments or any other regime. Doesn't matter how much news sources you read. Like I said the mass grave in Korea is not a matter of importance to most people in the world ( bar S. Korea). I personally will not watch the news or read most newspapers - except for The Independent. Most news reports on TV are biased (and treat people like they are idiots) and the majority of newspapers nowadays are more focused on entertainment. If you want to see what the world is like open up a history book. And you jump on Scatterbrain for going OT while in your very first post go OT yourself. What has Indonesia got to do with the Korean War? Moreover this is not even a discussion about the Korean War. When I saw the title I expected a historical debate. Not a news report on a mass grave. This discussion is more about ideology - which is most leet.

Baff1: Yet another reason why everyone should not have the vote. Yeah mate, it's easy to talk like that when your not in the middle of it. I would like to see you talk of all this when you see your wifes head split open from a fragment with her brains splattered all over your. Your kids blown to little bits from a bomb. Yip, nice and easy to talk of this when your in your cosy little living room. Advocating genocide. Turn back 60 odd years and you would probably be supporting Hitler with his escapade in Russia with his mass murders etc. Bad stuff in war happens. Blue on blue etc. We all know that. It Does not justify mass killing of civillians. Listen up white van man. The world ain't as simple as The Scum (The Sun) makes it out to be.
-
I completely agree with you. Unfortunately most people are more interested in shite like 'Big Brother Celebrity Hijack'. (Well, about facts and knowledge being important - even though you distort it completely when it suits you.)
-
I never said killing civillians was intentional you idiot. You pop in and say 'Hey peeps Capitalism is da evils whiles comminsm is leetz'. *sigh* If you can possibly get this my point is that war is a nasty thing. Attrocities are committed by individuals on all sides and not limited to any specific country/faction/ideology etc. Yes it's not right to cover things such as this up. Any government whether communist/capitalist or whatever whould try to keep such an incident hush-hush to try and make themselves not look bad. What right minded nation would go to the media and say, 'Hey, look at these civilians a platoon wasted'. If you think only a right wing nation would cover up such a thing then you are either incredibly naive or incredibly stupid or a bit of both. You seem to think the world is black and white. As someone who is interested in Sociology you should know that the world is gray! EDIT It's not really strange that this didn't make headline news. Want to know why? Because it happened years ago and is more something historians would be interested in. It would be a different story if it was happening now. As for that Stalin thing. Never heard about it.
-
Both sides commited horrible acts. It's called war. I suggest you watch Brotherhood which is about the Korean War. It's also produced by a South Korean. Excellent film. Nobody is covering up anything. War is a horrible thing that humans get involved in. Not one particular ideology. Are you really this ignorant?
-
You are right Baddo. But it makes for a good laugh on a slow evening.

Only Spokesperson could turn a joke into something serious. I didn't even mention commuism or anything. Your a nutter like those Evangelical Christians you get in the Deep South of the USA. The moderators were just following rules. Which is no flaming, which is what you were doing. No conspiracy. Cultural Hegemony is rubbish as well (to an extent - it seems to imply we are all mindless robots). My mother is christian but I have not been to church since I was ween. Furthermore they are solid SNP voters while I am against dis-union. Humans are diverse; never forget that. Also I work in a refregirated trailer factory and me and everyone else is pretty happy with the system. Same goes for my mate who is a welder. No more discussions with a man who condones mass murders as long as it is in his own interest. Now you run along spoiled little student. Edit: Big fat LOL. Analysis of society is bad! I guess that is why I took Sociology at school! Moreover there is no tens of millions of homeless. That would be double the population of Scotland! Your a funny chap.

Holy conspiracy theories Batman! The BIS moderators are part of a secret Liberal propaganda machine!
-
Obviously. But that is not the point. It seems most people just like to bitch. I mean just look at what happened with ArmA. At the start most threads were just full of insults. Not useful criticisms.
-
With all these negative comments about the film I wasn't so sure about seeing it. But Ebud and Jakerod's comments have got me excited about seeing it. Roll on Feb 1st.

Look with OFP you will never get excellent FPS because it was designed with 2001 computer hardware and not 2008 hardware. Mods that feature scripts and effects such as FFUR, SLX etc. will never perform well with large amounts of units on the map. Even regular OFP can only handle so much before it starts to lag. And that little file TB put up disables infantry features. EDIT: Performance tips, check this link and check post by Sanctuary. Very informative. Link I also suggest that you search for Spybot Search and Destroy to get rid of any spyware. I just did a few days ago and my computer is running that little bit faster.
-
LOL in english plz  Maybe you should type in English yourself. Basically Stewy is saying that these addons are good.
-
That is becasue OFP was not built to take advantage of modern hardware (OFP-2001 while ArmA-2006). However CPU's do have an impact on OFP. Missions that lag on my desktop do not lag on my core 2 duo laptop.
-
If I remember right the anims in WGL allowed you to shoot while running.
-
As said above frame rates are good with this version of FFUR. I use the single mission Revenge as a benchmark and the mission did not slow to a crawl like previous FFUR versions, regular SLX etc. However I find that the sounds are better than FFUR 2007 v2.5.
-
Been playing for a couple of hours and this is the best FFUR of them all in my opinion. It just feels right. Experinced a crash but I'm pretty sure thats down to my computer. Only one bug I discovered. An inavlid crew error (or something along those lines) when I started that single mission with the Apache and the convoy. Thanks for the hard work.
-
From first post. In the time it's taken me to respond to this question you could have read the entire first post.
-
Thank you very much for all the hard work you have put into OFP over the years. *Raises virtual pint glass*

Those two ACU addons are made by the same person. That 'garbage' is the predecessor to the ACU pics posted above. Please stop being so insulting. That 1st Infantry addon was made before the tools were released and the creator did the best he could with them at the time. Had you read the thread you would have realised this.

Sure, no problem. AMD AthlonXP 3200+ (Barton) 2GB DDR RAM (PC3200) in dual-channel mode MSI GeForce 7600GS 512MB (AGP) Aperture size set to 512MB Ceative Audigy 2 Win2K Prof. SP4 Resolution: 1360x768 (16:9)-wide Viewdistance ~2000 meters Terrain detail: Normal Objects detail: High Texture detail: High Shading detail: Very high Postprocess effects: Low Anisotropic filtering: High Shadow detail. High Antialiasing: Very high Blood: High Edit: I still use the 94.24 Forceware drivers, as the never ones requires WinXP. Woah! That's impressive running ArmA on that detail with an AGP machine. The major differences seem to be that I have: 1GB RAM Intel. Pentium 4 2.66GHz Windows XP At first I thought it was because of the Athlon but that seems to have a speed of 2.2Ghz compared to my 2.66GHz. It can't just be the RAM though? Unless it's the Win2K that makes the difference? What is aperture size? Now I'm actually tempted to try and update my old computer if your getting results like those.

Bloody hell it's request after request after request. It will never get released at this rate. Moreover I would be careful with all these realism suggestions especially when you got the AK firing modes wrong in the FFUR thread. Big-Rooney did excellent work with MCM but he can only do so much. All these suggestions is kinda taking the piss in my opinion.
