    WW1 Mod Release

Does anybody have the ReadMe for the RDS Artillery addon?
  5. A few months ago someone posted this in a topic in the Addons and Mods complete section. I would like to attempt something like this for my own use. I would like to replace only the default BIS vehicles for East and West (for use with GRAA mod). However the above link does not go into detail in how to do this and where the vehicle files for East and West are. How would I do this?

Is there a mirror for 1.1? If not I will try and get one up in the next few days. Time permitting.

    WW1 Mod Release

WW1 Mod Link It would be nice if the reload time could be increased. A good soldier would have been able to get a decent amount of shots off in a minute.

BT invest 1.5 billion in Super-Fast Broadband

You sneaky bugger! Hook, line and sinker! EDIT One major thing I have noticed in my local area is the amount of houses that have suddenly gone up for sale. Everything is getting more expensive, especially fuel (which is really pissing people off). As a consequence of where I live at the moment I am shielded from the 'credit crunch' a tad. *cough* Oil *cough*

BT invest 1.5 billion in Super-Fast Broadband

“Every revolution is impossible until it happens and then it is inevitable†- which I thought was a quote from Da Man, Leon Trotsky, but Google seems not to find it as such. DANGER! Possible ignorance ahead! You do realise that when the Russian Revolution took place when there was a world war going on? That their economy was in a shambles because of that? Their standard of living plummeted further because of it? They lost millions of men with little to show for it? That the war dragged on which made it worse? The people had pretty much zero confidence in their leadership? Revolutions don't tend to happen when things are good and the current situation is stable. Until their is a major economic crash, or a world war dragging on making things hell or some other major event that's going to involve the UK (or a member of the UK even) I don't think we will be seeing Brown's head on a stick.

BT invest 1.5 billion in Super-Fast Broadband

Are you sure you have not exaggerated some of these points? The situation was a lot worse in the 1970's and 1980's. EDIT Generally speaking we are pretty affluent. We are not nearing a revolution. If we were you would certainly know about it! ie Riots, heavy Police presence, pulling troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan etc. Out of curiosity which party are you referring to? If it's the Conservatives they have actually moved from the 'Right' to the 'Centre Right' in order to try and knock Labour from the 'Centre Right' position. Hence Cameron's 'Hug a Hoodie' campaign and then his recent speech where he said poor people only have themselves to blame. This is him trying to find a middle ground between right and left. The majority of people in the UK have centre right views. As a consequence many parties are Centre Right because they want as much votes as possible. All the parties are chasing after the same voter. The Conservatives are not right wing like the BNP for example. I would start getting worried if they were having major electoral success.

    Configless Replacement Mod

'Back in my day...' I have it. I know what it does and the effort that goes into making such things (hence the thanks). I have yet to give it a thorough try. The main for reason for a lack of comments on it is probably down do the slowly dying OFP community when ArmA appeared. I don't play OFP much myself nowadays. What does it all contain? If you put it up I will give it a permanent mirror. Aye, just had a look through that tutorial and had a little practice. Easier to use than what I thought so I will just use the config method instead.

    Configless Replacement Mod

Read what I typed more carefully. Already have it. Thanks for it btw. Thanks. Will have a peek. Probably. Don't really understand them though. The original way means that I can use it with other mods such as FDF without having to edit countless config.cpp's. I'll check out the method nonetheless so thank you for pointing out that tutorial.
  14. As great a mod SLX is it can get very laggy when playing certain missions. In order to increase performance I have disabled SLX shot effects and the tank smoke feature. Performance is much better (Battlefields mission is my benchmark) however there is still some lag and the smoke and fire effects seem to be the main culprit. How would I disable the smoke and fire effects entirely?

    SLX SUPER AI

Have a look in the FFSX 2007 mod folder and access the SLX_GL3_Settings. There are options in this file that allow you to enable or disable certain features with the mod such as effects and AI enhancements. There are instructions in the file that tell you how to do this.

Built in Revives in ArmA 2!?

But it is not forced so it really depends on the mission designer.

    Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced

It turned out to be the best FPS i ever played . When STALKER was announced it was supposed to have A, B, C...X, Y, Z features. When it came out it only had A, B, C, D, E features. In other words a lot of the original features were cut due to certain issues. Which might happen to OFP2 regardless if they were promised or not.

    Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced

What good is a 'promise' in the business world? Have you ever heard of STALKER? Their main goal is to make money and if those features get in the way of that they will scrap them in a heartbeat. Regardless if they were promised or not. A demo will show us if they have kept their 'promise'.

    Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced

Well pet, I never said I wasn't interested in it. It certainly does sound awesome and I hope it does turn out the way most of us here would want it to. However there is nothing to really indicate that it will turn out that way, despite the fact that it was presented in a magazine and all the talk Codies are doing. Just look at STALKER: what it was supposed to be and how it turned out. What does not make sense is people boasting about how awesome OFP2 is going to be when their is nothing to back that up.

    Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced

Why thank you. Sorry to disappoint you but I am not excited about Codies saying how awesome their game is going to be (surprise surprise) and their two CGI trailers which don't really tell you anything about the game. I will wait until they release a demo. Good for you to get excited so easily. Must be hell on your other half though.

We simply know pretty much what ArmA2 is going to be like. You seemed to have gotten you knickers in a twist in your last post. Maybe calming down would be a good idea. It's just a game.
