    Libyan Revolution Helmet Cam

I don't see how you can possibly know a majority of people support Gaddafi. He certainly doesn't have a majority now. Being a war, and a civil war at that, I think it's safe to assume the loyalist forces have political enemies killed intentionally. The rebels have most likely done the same. The NATO campaign has inevitably led to civilian casualties which is impossible to avoid in an air campaign. A large section of the Libyan people rose up and are chasing the loyalists out of the country, not NATO. Air power alone does not win a war and the rebels have had to do the fighting to get rid of him. I said a large amount of Libyans rebelled, including soldiers, who are also Libyan people.

    Libyan Revolution Helmet Cam

I don't see what this video proves other than that the few thousand people in that video supported Ghadaffi. A few thousand people does not equal the whole of Libya. Yes, he has his supporters, otherwise the fighting would not have lasted as long as it has. Clearly, the fact that there has been a large uprising of Libyans and the defection of military units shows that a significant number of the people don't care for him.

I was just using that as an example but plenty of NGOs, other organisations and including Libyans themselves will no doubt conduct investigations into various events that took place during the revolution once it finishes.

Analysing an event that is on going and not clear cut is not an easy task and has many pitfalls. Only some time after the event do we begin to get a clear picture.

Nope, it's just that some people actually take time to research and analyse, unlike some, who spend 10 minutes on Google and fill in the blanks with whatever fairytale suits them best.* *Usually, tabloid style answers like oil, "west" is evil and so on. Post 73 being a prime example. Such precise knowledge about an event that is confusing (to say the least) and still going on.
  6. Rename the CWA exe to FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE and then run the ECP installer. Direct it to your CWA folder then install it. Once done change the name of the exe back to the original. Don't forget the ECP patch and the fountain fix which can be found on the first page of the official ECP thread.

    Modul Skies Pre Installed

When I ran Samoth's replacement pack and moved the data pbo files to another DTA folder I got that issue or something similar at least. It required one or more SLX files to function.

    Join and Lead Issue

Thanks, I got it working. Never knew you could use a move waypoint with a switch trigger. I thought it had to be a hold waypoint.
  9. In the editor I have set up an FDF platoon attack on a village and its surroundings. The mission is supposed to go like this: The player starts off alone and is ordered to do one final recon before the attack. Once the recon is done the player moves to the position of Alpha squad to take command of it. The squads then move up to their respective forming up points and once all are in position they move up to take the village. The Problem: Each squad has a Hold waypoint a couple hundred metres south of their forming up point. Alpha has this waypoint and a Join and Lead waypoint on top of it for the player. Both waypoints are synchronized with each other. A Hold waypoint, however, doesn't finish, right? So the player never becomes leader of Alpha. So, how do I have the squad hold position 200 metres before its FUP where the player will take command which will then allow the rest of the squads to move to their FUP. I tried 'this stop true' and some code where the squad joined the player but it had issues like number 2 not moving.
  10. The entire community? The community, thousands strong, should not and can not be held responsible for the actions of a few. A number of those few not even being from this community. The issue here is not the protection of work that has caused a stir but an EULA that prevents the public release of missions with certain addons. Something that, I believe, has never happened before. As I am sure you know, an editor created mission simply references addons in the mission.sqm. No ripping of addon PBO files involved. Now, before anyone bites my head off, I am not taking sides and while I find the EULA mission conditions odd I really don't care. I like PR and what they have done for BF2 but the Arma 2 version will probably be warp central for me and my crappy internet connection. Nevertheless, I'll still give it a try, just to see what they've cooked up. The only reason I posted is because it's getting tiring seeing the entire community blamed and generalised for the actions of a few people.

    OFP Addon request thread

Thanks very much Zulu1. By the way, while I was going through my OFP addon DVDs I found this. Doesn't seem to have been uploaded anywhere so I can put up a download link for it if anybody wants.

    help with watch & compass

Thanks very much. Upon further searching, apparently, de-PBOing the data3d.pbo messes up the Strela model causing a crash. I'll do some testing, albeit non-dedi, with a friend and see what happens. data3d.pbo is in the DTA folder. Create a mod folder, like @UI, with a dta folder in it and copy and paste the data3d.pbo from the main folder into there. Once that is done, de-PBO it along with wgl_ui, find the compass and watch. Rename them to kompas and KOSEI respectively, place them in the data3d folder, then PBO the folder to get a new data3d.pbo. Then place wgl_ui.pbo in the addons folder of @UI.

    OFP Addon request thread

Does anyone happen to have the DMA AKD Army pack for @ECP?

    help with watch & compass

Does anybody know what files you replace for the notepad? I think it's one of these: blok, blok_selmis, blok_selmis2 or blok_selmis2master Which one(s) exactly I am not sure. EDIT Searching through the forums I have read that de-PBOing the data3d.pbo is a bad idea for MP as it will cause a crash in the MP environment. Is there any truth to that?

    WWII MP Released!

Maybe a new sticky thread that has solutions for installing problematic mods on CWA could be useful?
  16. Thanks Mandoble, that would be a great addition to the template. :) Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

    FDF Mod

Bingo. Thanks for the fix. Oddly, the S&W addon was causing cutscenes to 'skip' but the worlds error wasn't. It was just annoying seeing it pop up all the time.

    Chain of Command Unified Artillery

1.1 was released in Aug 2006. There's a hotfix for it that was released by Vektorboson a few weeks ago for 1.99/CWA users.
  19. There will be an update soon that includes the F18 and the new Nimitz crew. Would have replied earlier but my internet was down for some time and I didn't notice this topic had been posted in. Plus, now that the USS Nimitz and Mando missiles work together smoothly the ships will now be able to fire missiles and the like. The only problem is finding out how much missiles and what type of missiles are carried by Ticonderoga and Arleigh Burke Class ships in CSG 11.

    FDF Mod

Last time I played FDF was on my old steam powered XP PC and I can't remember getting these missing addon error messages. Maybe I did though. Anyway, I corrected the error message that pops up with the Smith and Wesson pistols. Fixed version of that addon available here if anybody needs it. With that gone I start the FDF Campaign again but get this: "cannot load mission, missing addons: fdf_worlds" I can't find a solution through Google. Anybody know how to fix it?

  22. You mean the OP or Nokturnal1ne? Don't know about the OP but Nokturnal1ne got his Arma Gold from Sprocket so it is patched to 1.18 I believe. Doesn't work for him but he can play the 1.06 demo without problems.

New vehicles for the next patch

Arma 2 isn't just about Warfare game mode. Though RF and USMC upgraded to OA standards would have been nice.
  24. That is odd! Definitely something going on if you can run the 1.06 demo but not the full 1.18 final game. Doesn't look like it could be a hardware issue on your end. Perhaps there is something with the download versions that's different? The OPs Arma was a download version from Atari too. Might be something else though. The problem seems to be present for quite a few people and the 1.18 patch doesn't solve it for all, if you browse through the topics here. In fact, for some, everything worked fine before 1.18! Since you bought from Sprocket (BIS) I'm sure they'll look into it and get your game running if you e-mail them.
  25. We managed to infiltrate them at E3. This will be piece of cake.
