i was just hoping that 505 games would realise that their flogging a dead horse with the late release, and try to set up a downloadable version (i.e: get their usual cut of the price), but i guess that was hoping for too much. big shame. 4 months is a long time in the gaming industry though, it's not good for the game. but i guess nothing can be done about it. with any luck BIS will learn from this and the game 2 release wont also be a screw up in a few years time when that finally comes along.

yea, looks like "total balls up" wasn't such a bad prediction after all. i still have a tiny bit of faith in BIS sorting out some kind of online download for the full version this side of 2007 though, but it is tiny.

I wouldnt hold your breath, there wont be an online download untill the tortoise with arthritis = 505 Games has released there copy of the game. You will be lucky to see a demo of the game this side of christmas, let alone the full online download. did i miss a post or something ? - what info is this based on ? if thats true, its a major, major blow.

i dont see a problem with respawn if it has a long timer (10-15) mintues, and i did like BF2 spawn on SL to keep your clan mates together, however for OFP maybe it would be better if you could just set up a forward assembly point, so in effect have a forward spawn point.

if you mean "is this a guild type RPG where you slog for hours in real life to build up virtual points to enhance your e-penis", then no. however, i have heard that the idea is for capture the island games to take days, so in effect the battlefield would be persistent, it wouldnt just reset every 5 minutes after a "round". p.s: take a joke, rpg fans.

i partly agree with you padre, but i can understand why some people get annoyed when the dates slip again and again. It's a good thing really, as it shows people really want this product, but you have to allow for people chewing at the bit a little when its this close and they've waited so long.

i have to agree, the waves dont have any kind of realistic look to them. - i think it's because they dont break at the ends and are one nice straight line. hopefully it's a W.I.P.

OT: im really glad they left the floating crosshair in. -- imho it was flashpoint's master stroke. The floating cross hair means you have to move your eyes around to scan more of the screen, which is good for your eyes and realism... also stops you getting tunnel vision on one point. yay for floating crosshairs !
