<s>I've managed to max out everything including view distance and I'm getting between 25-35 fps whereas before my view distance was at about 2000m and some settings turned down, giving me just 20-25fps.</s> - Edit - Turns out the excellent performance was due to fog in the mission, but still I am getter much improved performance over other patches. Excellent job BIS!

Well with the multi-gunner position feature present in ArmA, I see no reason why a workaround can't be made allowing all the cargo positions to shoot?

I've seen the film and had to say I did enjoy it. So long as you don't take everything literally and have an open mind, you'll see that it is a good action movie, nothing more, nothing less. BTW, didn't this kick up some fuss with the Iranians about misrepresentation of their history? Here's a link: BBC - Iranian anger at Hollywood 'assault' and another: BBC - Iran condemns Hollywood war epic

Fantastic! You guys have really worked your socks off for this and I'm glad you've battled through and managed to release, rather than falling at the wayside. It's also great to see a much overlooked conflict represented.

It irritates me when, having had your NVGs on for quite some time at night, you take them off and it's impossible to see even vehicle headlights for about 5 seconds. While I appreciate that there is a period of adjustment when taking off NVGs, surely you would be able to see headlights and other sources of intense light instantly?

Are you sure you have the right patch and not the one for the 505 owners?
-
Well you've modified the campaign in some way. Just copy and paste the 'ca.pbo' file on your ArmA disk into your ArmA directory (c:/Program Files/Bohemia Interactive/Arma/campaigns) and overwrite what you've got in there. Then rerun the patcher.

I haven't read the last few pages, but I thought I had to comment on this. Without Russia the Western Front would have collapsed within a very short time period. The millions of men and tonnes of material Russia injected into the war meant that the Nazis had to use the vast majority of their forces to engage the staggering amount of soldiers Russia put forward. The Western Front was simply a thorn in Hitlers side. It is undeniable however, that the Americans made an invaluable contribution to the war effort on the western front. Check this out to see how many men Russia lost in WW2. Anyway, sorry about that...back to China....

Whoops, well I reasoned that Afghanistan was in the Middle East and this thread was on the first page...

For those in the UK, there's a 'Dispatches' on C4 at 11pm tonight. From the web page: Meeting the Taliban The program on Monday had some great footage and showed what the troops out there have to face on a daily basis.

I think Windows Movie Maker does the job, although doubtless there's some better program out there...

I'm really enjoying your missions, especially the 'Skirmish' ones on Nogova, which have inspired me to mess around with the EBS Command thing in the editor. Do you have a link to the original script with documents etc?

Fantastic! This is going to distract me from ArmA for quite some time!
-
It's not exactly a polished part of ArmA so it isn't set as a default unit. Anyway, if you want to play with it type the following into a crates init line: this addweaponcargo ["javelin",#]; this addmagazinecargo ["javelin",#] #=However many of the javelin weapon/ammo you want

Interesting, although judging by the island's history it should be the British troops training the RACS, not the Yanks. Ah well.
-
Hold left shift and Num pad '-' at the same time, release, then type 'endmission' without the quotes. CWC was a far better campaign, with a logical progression and real involvement and tension. ArmA's campaign was just too obvious as to what would happen.

Says it's 109mb when I download it. -
What camoflauge fits Sahrani best?
stainer replied to j w's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I believe the Poll offered a choice of "other", so I think that posting other countries camo is reasonable enough. Mod teams will inevitably make other units besides US, there are other nations in the world.... Edit: What Messy said... -
Well if my screen were much bigger it would take up a stupid amount of my desk space, which I need when doing work etc. It would be great to have a bigger screen/resolution but I'm not too bothered, ArmA looks good and runs well so I'm not complaining.
-
Well my new setup runs ArmA just fine at 25-40fps regardless of the number of units/buildings etc. Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2x2.4GHz) 2048mb RAM 1GB Geforce 7950 GX2 360GB Hard drive Runs at 1024x768 (can't push that any higher, probably because of my monitor) with all settings at high or very high and a view distance of 3000.

Personally I think Auscam would fit well with a large portion of the island (especially the more southern regions), however good old DPM would work a treat in the northern forests. -
I think it's probably best if you start working on an ArmA version, OFP can't have much more time to live.

Yeh I've just loaded everything up and the layout is pretty much perfect, even the zip-wire tower, great job!
-
Great news! I've been to Fremington Camp with the cadets (yeh laugh all you want) and thought it was a shithole, but I'm sure you've made it look a lot better than it is!

I've just been part of a Rememberance Parade with the Army Cadets. It was fairly small, but all the roads were closed off and quite a lot of people turned up, of all ages. It's good to see that people still remember and honour those who gave their lives.
