i for one love realism but i can def appreciate their stance of not wanting to get bogged down with buttons etc. so why doesn't a group with permission take the existing models and create a realistic models/textures pack for those who care about that? working with the mod to give the end user the choice. -
I had this idea whilst looking around an abrams (in arma) and saw that computer screen with the eagle on. Is it possible to have a central computer, attached to the options screen, that would allow players to create sub missions for others to complete. eg. you come across enemy tanks but have no way of destroying them. you simply create an objective that others can see and accept. Dedicated pilots or indeed anyone in or with a plane or chopper could then complete your objective and earn $$$. Objectives could also be created for medivacs, transport (even vehicles to the field, hitch) specialists, etc. and it would then make sense to have medics and pilots as playable characters. What do you reckon? Tim

true i suppose but if you think of it like this: squad leader requests mission (request fire mission, evac etc.) HQ displays mission for others (checking for availability) mission is accepted (request granted) mission is carried out (splash) you could even have a time limit for missions so if no one accepts papa bear or who ever would say means not available or something. the idea is to replace ai involvement with players but the format would feel the same as scripts where you request cas or arty.

kind of along those lines but i think squad leaders should have the ability as they are on the front line.

I'd like to start by thanking everyone who made this project. It's fucking awesome. As far as my own personal preference goes, in regards to community customization, an "extreme" version of this misson would be fantastic. This would grant the ablility to purchase more advanced weapons, tanks, aircraft and nukes. NOT to unrealistic proportions but if carried out in essence you would have a first person world in conflict... which would own.

Which CTI would you say is most playable? I've tried a few but i'm really looking for one that would work as a singleplayer,ie. all ai units buy infantry/vehicles. Also it would be nice to see extra vehicles/weapons such as the new F117a just for variation. Since sarahni is so huge it would be so awesome if superweapons could be used in the advanced stages of the game. I know i'm asking alot but i just wandered what public opinion was about CTI's? I'd be shocked if someone hadn't already requested this but i searched to no avail. I desperatly want a ch-46 sea knight to go with the stunning marine addons out there. I know they exist for vbs but i don't have a spare grand to throw around. As much as i love the arma community it is a tad sketchy. No offence meant, especially on a request thread, but there is something unsatisfying about us marines leaping out of israilly ch-53. Which brings me to my next request. the IDF ch-53 i believe is an ofp port and on the idf thread: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....5;st=60 Miles Teg sort of grants permission to swap the skin to a USMC variant. The ch-46 is a long shot for a request and at any rate a long time coming but it would keep us sustained if someone could do the USMC CH-53 skin for us. cheers.

Dear Santa, I know it's a bit late but if you could see your way to providing a B17 for Arma that would be just fucking awsome. Supreme work mate, this will open the doors for some seriously sophisticated addons.

Accurate nuclear weapons in flashpoint/arma has always created an element of controversy as they simply wipe out everything. Never the less I do feel that there is a market for them especialy if used in the correct context. M.A.D (muturaly assured destruction) mod aims to use the arma engine to create realistic ICBM's aswell as ABM's. Eventually (once the tools have been relesed) there will be two populated islands, East and West. The players will place silo's capable of launching ICBM's or ABM's about their islands then attempt to deminish the others populace. Think DEFCON for arma. Now seeing as I am but a humble concept arist and a pretty lazy one at that, I have next to no scripting knowledge or patience. However I have compiled some accurate data for missiles and blast effects including; emp radius, radiation radius and effects, first degree burns - conflagration, optimum burst height and blast dammage radius divided into total, severe and moderate damage. To begin with I would like to script the actual nuke effects so if you would like to have a stab at transcribing this data to ARMA pm me and i'll email you the data.

how can i play ai vs ai commanders?

I have recently purchased vista ultimate 32bit and an evga 8800gtx 768mb i installed them on a clean hard drive and updated to the latest drivers. now when i try to run arma (1.05); textures do not load properly and it is slow as anything unless i have the resolution at 1024x768 and even then its not smooth. i am suffering from graphical issues on plenty of programs usually stuttering except halflife 2 or prey. here are my specs: AMD ATH64 X2 4800+ @2.47GHz 2047mb Ram eVGA8800GTX ACS3 768mb Vista Ultimate 32bit Realtek AC97 (Audigy is not recognised?!?) Any help apreciated or if you are suffering from similar issues tell us so i know i'm not alone.

funnily enough theres a seagate baracuda underneath this here empty beer can. Back to xp.. heres to microsoft and all the software developers who can't get there arses in gear. thanks for the help. now if i could only fit it in the case (8800)

don't even get me started on stalker, managed to get augidy working and disabled ac97. It did, wait for it, fuck all... oh well back to oblivion.

crysis will pwn (i hope). it's all us vista users have to cling on to. drivers are a bit wanky. games react totaly individualy to new vista, COH don't work at all, Oblivion looks better than ever, X3 a no no (starforce drivers), prey fine, quake 4 poo, halflife 2 gorgeous, arma decidedly dodgey. i have found that most games cock up at 1900x1200 which is odd because my screen can take it (dell wfp2407) and my card should put it out (8800gtx). i think i'm gonna invest in some more ram and a decent sound card. other than that i'll have to play the waiting game (looking at you nvidia). Cheers anyway.

no real complaints. i have a 7800gt256(oc) amd4800+x2 1.5gb ram and i can run it smooth on highest settings but first i have to select a different resoultion on start up. low to high or high to low. just wondered if anyone else experiences this issue or if it helps anyone.

Does anyone else suffer poor fps when first starting the game? i find that if i change the resolution up or down the perfomance is smooth. eg. 1024x768 choppy frame rate 1280x1024 smooth as. weird. and why have we got no reflections in the water? could this be implemented into the english/us versions in feb? mabye to coincide with dx10/vista release in late jan?

i have a 7800gt(oc) 1500mb ram and an amd 4800x2. when i first got arma i was running 1gb ram and it was stuttery on high settings. i since increased it to 1.5gb and now it runs smooth on highest settings! would recomend the increase did wonders for me thinking of going all out 4gb expensive though.

How come nobody ever made Waco or Horsa gliders? we got a C-47 kinda the next logical step. Would be a larf on a d-day map, add more versitility?
