  2. I used the multiplayer wizard to make a CTF map and now I’m just adding extra stuff like empty Tanks and plains. My question is: I'm also adding some working AI-groups of tanks to hold a location, but will they show up when I host my map online? I’m just using these AI-groups to defend the bases from air attacks
  3. Question1. When I place buildings in my map, its hell getting things lined up where they need to be. Is there some way of moving things while you are in the game so you can see exactly where they are being placed? Question2. Another problem is, there is a building I believe it's called an "Aircraft Hanger", it is a very cool looking building but it doses not sit perfectly flush to the ground.   5. Hi Ya, I’ll just use hold like you said. Just so you know what I’m doing. The Vulcan’s are only used for guarding a parameter around the US base, just as the shilka AI is for the Russian base. See I want to make sure that if a plain even gets near any of the base, it will be shot down very quickly, and so far it is worked as pained. I also have it set up where each countries base is graded by one chopper with full experience.     hello Othin I'm not sure if I'm doing this correct, it's not working as you said? First I tried adding: X=-1 in the INT field, no luck Then I tried adding: this setpos [(getpos this select 0),(getpos this select 1),x]; what could I be doing wrong?

    The building is on a run-way at the air port, how much flatter you can get. I was hoping there was a button that can tilt the axis of the Ă‚ model, I really don't see whey this has not been implimented. btw, JAP Do you know what name is used for the helicopter landing pads in the editor? I can't seem to find one. ... I'm talking about the white X they put on the ground, there is one in the mission called (Ground Attack) 1 and 2

    Lud is correct, it looks like F…cking $hit. Mister Frag, regardless of whether it’s working as planned, I think it looks like total crap and so dose 90% of everyone who has a Gforce3 and 4. We are talking about one of the best graphics cards on the market there is just no excuse for this $hit. The team has some work to do, I gave them my money and I’ll gladly give them more, unless they start making mistakes like this one. They should have de_saturated the color, NOT removed it completely. The Logic makes sense, the mechanics don’t work. Also, look at how $hity the corona/ Hallow around the street lights look, the colors are binding. Like in this shot http://www.imgstudio.com/2002....092.jpg If you have ever seen what a corona texture looks like in Unreal , they are smooth looking. Every time I shoot a missle from a plain at night, the ball of light almost looks like the texture is being displayd at 256 color, Not 24 or 32 bit. .....It looks fake and so dose the light around that street lamp in that shot above

    Problems with night missions....

    I think it looks like crap. I mean I see the logic in it and I must say it’s good to see the the OFP team is concentrating on realism, but they seemed to fall a little short on this one. It would have been better to use some kind of Zone lighting with a very small touch of blue. It DOSES NOT look real, simple as that. Also, they need to tone down the brightness on the bushes at night when the head lights shin on them; it’s just not right looking
  10. Thanks bn880 btw, I put some AI tank units to guard a location but when I flew away in my chopper to go get the enemy flag, the tanks seemed to follow me. This doesn’t seem to make sense because I placed one way point over the leader of the group and set the way point from Move to "Guard" that location. Would it be better to use Hold instead of guard to make sure they always stay in that spot? What’s the difference between Guard and Hold?

What folder exactly dose this (VR.sqs) file need to be in for this Respawing to work? i've already got the Game logic set up: 1) make a "game logic" called respawn1 2) make a "game logic" called server and the vehicle is set exatly as stated, but I'm getting a messages at the top of the screen that says No_User... ect. Dose the map need to be exported and moved to the multiplayer folder before it will work? Right now I’m testing the map with the preview button and it automatically lunches my server. Not sure how most people would handle this, (O.. this is a Multiplayer map btw), I’m using the wizard template to make a CTF map so the AI/ solders are already scripted to run to the flag and bring it back to my knowledge..or at least I think thats how the wizard sets it up? Now I want the flags to be kind of far away from each other. The problem is that it will take the (AI) solders too long on foot to run to my flag and back to their post. My question: Would it be wise to have the AI travel most of the trip in some kind of vehicle? I can do it, but I’m not sure how to set it up so that the AI will get out and into the trucks over… and….over again through out the game? I mean it probably doesn’t even matter since this is a multiplayer map, it will be played by people anyway but I just want to do it right. Say I had an island with a flag, how would I make the (AI) fly to the island and get out of the choppers and back in.. and then fly back to their base to return it? but “over and over againâ€

    Hi Chronicles, thanks for replaying! Yes, I definitely need them to respawn See I don’t have a problem making them cycle, the problem is like you said, when they respawn they loose their way point info. See, I needed them to get the flag when they disimbark from the chopper and then get back in and fly back with it. I don’t think this is going to work, but Truth is: since it’s a multiplayer map, it don’t matter that much as long as AI is turned off during a multiplayer game. I just wanted to know how to do it incase someone happened to play the map by them self.
  15. Not sure about something: I used the built in Wizard from the multiplayer menu so I would have a starting point for a CTF map. So basically the flags are already on the map and just need to be moved. My question is: can I just start adding things like tanks and more buildings? The tanks and infantry will need to respawn, so if I create this respawn text file you need, will it import into my map correctly when I export the level as a multiplayer map?

Some of the tutorials cover way more then I need and tent to get too complicated, I'm kind of new to all this still.     I would like to show some people at my work what OFP looks like in action, is there some type of camera program I can download to make a little movie to burn on a disk and play it at my work with either Real player or Quick time, or even windows media player?

    I do have a Video out on my card That is a cool idea, but as Harnu mentioned it sounds a little costly, plus I’m not sure if there is a VCR by my work. Other thing is I only have a DVD player at my house now. I’ve contacted Coalescent http://www.ctcorp.com/ They seem to have a few tools.     Kegetys posted a pic, but where is that tool? I mean what’s the big deal, why the hell can’t the developers make some kind of tool for the community? after all I think we are helping to support the engine.
