    Someone at my work was telling me that a BMP is not a tank but an APC. I personally consider it to be a tank, is a BMP1 and BMP2 a tank?

    Thanks theavonlady so I guess this guy at my work was correct. It’s just that everywhere I’ve looked on the net says that a BMP is a tank used for killing infantry. I thought APC’s were vehicles mostly for carrying solders. For example I know for sure that an 1113 is an APC. Regardless of how easy or not it is to destroy a BMP where doses this name APC come from? So are we using the word or terminology (APC) as describing something that is easy to destroy? Or would it be better to say an APC is a vehicle for carrying men? even if the word APC is just a name for a class, it is still a tank none the less...right?

    Black op laser man?

    Black Op Laser Just for fun I added a Black op laser solder to my level as a test but I’m not exactly sure how to use the laser he carries? The equipment appears to be on tri pod but the laser doses not fire any weapon. Can someone explain this? Dose this Black op guy need two work with a tank or plain? I guess what I’m asking, is I need some detailed instructions how to use this guy and what buttons to press? Thanks!

    Ok, try this link http://forums.beyondunreal.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=1639479 Side Note: The map takes a little more power to run because (there are AI tanks) that guard each teams bases because I don’t believe in using KillZones as they are unreal. I would say anyone with a 1000MHz and up 256 mb’s or more recommended, should be fine “Leave the AI ON for this map or someone will have to guard the base(s)â€

I’ve got 12 guys for the West “one of them being the leader†Now I’ve got (four) empty tanks sitting and I would like the AI leader to divide up the 12 men so that each tank gets 3 men and then drives to the final unloading zone. I can do this fine with 3 guys using one tank but how do I do it with three? I’m not sure how to set up the way points so that the 12 men all go in different tanks and then drive to there final location?

    I hope this pic shows up foreveryone out of numbers 1 through 4, can anyone tell me what number represents the best level or point at wich the target should be?   12. I’ve got the way points set up, but when you say to use the Someguy assignAscargo command. Doses that mean I need to name each guy something different? Also dose Someguy assignAscargo chopper1) have to have the name chopper1? becosue I diden't name the chopers chopper1, I named them P1, short for (Plain1) Either way I’m having a problem with the way points for some reason. Here is what happens. Just to keep things simple I am only using 4 guys now. When the game starts the officer tells the men to get in the plain then flys them to the safe landing zone where there are empty trucks. For some reason, as soon as the men disembark from the officers command instead of the officer telling them to get in the truck, he tells them to get back into the Blackhawk. This doesn’t make sense becouse the way point over the chopper is set to (Get Out) which connects to the empty truck which which have a way point over it set to (Get IN). So what I mean is the units are suppose to get in the empty truck after disembarking from the truck but then why the hell is the officer telling them to get back in the black hulk when they just got out of the Blackhawk?
  13. hello bart.Jan I’m going to try that but one question please. What if I’m also using a Blackhawk chopper to carry them, how should the INT line read for that? You gave me me 3 int lines for tanks but I’m not too sure what to put in the int field of  a backhawk if I wanted some of the men to be in the back as passengers

  16. I’ve got three AI groups with one way point on the leader of each group set to hold and they are sitting still so thats good! Now there is another group of support vehicles near attached to the group of tanks with a support waypoint. The problem is that the supply vehicles keep moving and running over the AI men I have in that location. Rather then using a bunch of supply groups which slows down my map, is there anyway to set AI groups to automatically respawn their supply’s so that they never run out of supply? This way I don’t need to add supply vehicles in a tight location. Note: I don't want to AI groups to respawn when they get killed, I just want their supplys to respawn through out their life span? (While they are alive)
  17. I’ve got Christmas trees all over the island of Everon and I never put them there. This is a clean install of OFP, the only add-on I have is a small pbo file with 4 street lamps but NO other add on has been installed? Has anyone else seen these trees?   19. I’ve got my map set up to respawn players after they get killed. The problem is that when the players respawn, the add on’s that I put in the ammo boxes are not there. note: In the ammos boxes I added the line: this addWeapon "NVGoggles" How do I make it so that the NV goggles are always in the ammo boxes even when the players come back in their second life?

    Wait I’m not clear on something, so you said to use this addWeaponCargo ["NVGoggles", 10] for ammo boxes but what about the INT filed in a player? Should I still use the addWeaponCargo for players INT fields? Not sure what you mean by query Balschoiw you would have to explain that for me to understand. One thing that I’ve always wondered is, do ammo boxes use up a lot of resources? Another words can I add a ton of ammo boxes to my map with out slowing it down? And doses the amount of things in the boxes have an impact on performance?

    Thanks guys And thanks Bart.Jan for getting them two questions! I didn’t add the word cargo. I’ll try it your way this time.  See the other problem was after an hour goes by, most of the ammo boxes are empty so I was hoping that I could do something that would respawn what’s inside the boxes much like the Respawn modes for the players in the description text file.

    Hello Balschoiw Hmm, I didn’t know you could set a number amount in a box so I’m not really sure. All I know is I added the line this addWeapon "NVGoggles" in the INT field. If you know how to set an amount, please explain. By the way in reference to what you just mentioned I have two more questions now. 1. what’s is the Max amount of things an ammo box can hold? 2. Other question is, dose it matter what box I put the goggles in? There are three different kinds of ammo boxes to choose from. Doses the kind of box have any relation to what goes in it?

    I’m not too sure how the triggers would work in your case but I have a normal script file that I’m using for respawing my all my Empty vehicles Give this a try, put this in your User/ Mission folder where your mission.pbo file is http://www.angelfire.com/games4/starstreams/vrs.zip the line in the INT field I’m using for the units is [this]exec "vrs.sqs" I’m not sure if this works on AI units yet but the script works great on Empty units. Just remember to Add one GameLogic named "server" so that script can exit or you'll get multiple respawns.
