I was just wondering what formations people have been using for AI groups in city / urban environments such as Fallujah or the center of Zargabad? Nothing seems quite right for CQB to me, the closest formations to a "stacked" formation appears to be either file or staggered. Also does anyone have any suggestions for keeping you AI units from trailing to far behind when navigating through these locations? My units seem to become spread out too far between buildings and/or become separated and lost.

Nice I didn't know that! I'll have to keep that in mid next time I'm on the move. -
Best formations for urban environment?

I know I've seen Diamond somewhere, but I don't recall seeing it under the general formations list under [8]. Am I mistaken? -
Good Job! I'm really enjoying this mod and intend to add it to my server this weekend.

I recently installed and setup A2 1.07 dedicated server. When I edit the arma2server and add "OTHERPARAMS=-mod=@mymod" to the Configuration Parameters the mod never loads. However if I have this same parameter in my OA 1.54 dedicated server, there is no problem. What gives? ARMA_DIR=/home/armadedi/arma2 CONFIG=server.cfg PORT=2302 PIDFILE=${ARMA_DIR}/${PORT}.pid RUNFILE=${ARMA_DIR}/${PORT}.run LOGFILE=${ARMA_DIR}/log.${PORT}.txt SERVER=${ARMA_DIR}/server OTHERPARAMS=-mod=@wict Alternatively I can start the server: ./server -mod=mymod and the mod loads with out a hitch.

Linux OA combined ops server issue
skadog replied to tromac's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Ah-ha, thanks again Bilko! I was trying everything but missed the "\", I seemed to have found a temp work around by adding multiple OTHERPARAMS= lines. But this seems like it would either cause a problem or become hard to manage later on as I added more items. Looks like the answer to many of my problems are scattered among the multiple wikis.. e.g. : http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters or http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/server.cfg it would be nice to have one big official comprehensive dedicated server guide for each platform. But I'm sure there are plenty of things to do more important like squashing bugs. -
Linux OA combined ops server issue
skadog replied to tromac's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Quick question, if I want to have multiple entries in the OTHERPARAMS variable do I need to separate them with something? e.g. space, comma, colon, semi-colon? or will the "-" do? OTHERPARAMS=-cpucount=2-mod=mymod -
Thanks for the replies, I did check the ownership and permisions so good sugestion there and thanks a bunch Astra. Untimately it was the ia32-libs that got it running Bilko.

Looked around a little before I decided to post so forgive me if it's been brought up before or elsewhere. So I've just completed the installation. It says successfully installed and I now see some new items in my directory: arma2server, server, tolower, etc. So now when I go to run the server as shown in the instructions under item 4. 4. Dedicated server can be started in foreground: arma2$ ./server I get t replied back: ./server: No such file or directory I do see the executable in my OA directory so I'm not sure why I cant run this. Any ideas? 2.6.32-24-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 5 09:20:59 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I got some of these glasses and they are pretty cool overall. I was a little disappointed using them with OPF, things just don't look quite as 3D as they do in other games. They work in pretty much all of the game games I have played but to varied degrees, so far the best that I have seen are sims like IWAR2, MW4, ILS, etc. They look pretty good in Ghost Recon though.. I'll check them out on HL based games and reply back.
