  6. The first Charlie Foxtrot video competition is over, and the most glorious winner's name is: Conroy Jury motivation: While staying true to the task of creating a promotional video, Conroy has attempted to capture the very essence of playing in a large scale PvP tournament: The planning, the many different vehicles, the environment, the teamwork and the action. All in under three minutes, which is a suitable length for a promo. Congratulations and honor to the winner! /Charlie Foxtrot Admin Team The winning video: hu6zUyIgago

  10. Our public server is seeing good use, tonight we had a record 95 players on with the server running fine! Even though only about half of the players there were members of Charlie Foxtrot we had some really nice teamwork going on both sides, good job guys! I will repeat the ground rules for all of our new players: Points of Interest: 1) The Server will be admined 2) Team Killers, Vehicle destroyers will be kicked 3) Please join TS for the best experience: ts.cfarma2.com:8768 4) Stick with your teammates 5) If you have problems understanding the Mission just ask in TS/ingame 6) Server settings will be on Veteran Server Paramters - Game length per game 3hr (you dont have to play it all :) ) - Veteran Mode - Vehicles are Limited - Vehicles are on a 5min respawn - Player respawn in 40 seconds Game Parameters/Functionallity We have one large battlespace (1km x 1km) which is the focus of the fighting at any particular time. Points are given to your side for two things, being in the battlespace (called a Zulu on the map) & for killing enemy soldiers. You get 1 point for being in the zone and 10 points for killing an enemy soldier. In addition to this you get 1 point for killing an enemy outside the main Zulu. You also give the enemy 10 points if you die or suicide. These points are added to a team total every 2 minutes. Once 500 points has been reached by one side or other, the zulu moves forward or back depending on whether you were the winner or looser. The counter is reset and you fight in the new zulu. As a result the battle is dynamic. It sounds quite complicated but its not. Stick with your teammates and they will guide you through the game.

    Forming strategic level units

Plumbob? The one we all know and love from way back when? robs456
  12. If you're into PvP at all Charlie Foxtrot won't disappoint you. I'd like to say that its strongest point is the teamwork though. Personally, I just wonder what those who voted 'Coop missions with a small group of friends' would say if they took their small group of friends and joined Charlie Foxtrot. 'Fricken awesome!' is my guess.
  13. robs456

    So few PvP serves?

Coops have their place, but I believe that the experience of playing with AND against a huge number of real people just can't be beat. Real people will create an ever-changing combat environment and to overcome the enemy you'll have to use all your wit and cunning. Not just follow the path of least resistance like in so many coops. That is why tourneys like Charlie Foxtrot exist, for those that want to take 'gaming' to the next level. I mean, there's just a great feeling having scouted some enemy position and when calling in arty you're talking to a real person who is firing according to your coords and adjusting fire according to your directions. (Example from IC-ArmA)
  14. There will be a gaming session on the Charlie Foxtrot Server on WEDNESDAY NIGHT (17th June) @ 8GMT/3EST. Various maps will be on the server as well as our Charlie Foxtrot Scrim 1 map which we will be testing for functionality. It will be on the CF teamspeak & the server will be open to the public.

    Squad/Clan looking for player

Do you live for kicking ass and chewing dirt? Or are you more happy loading up a 5ton with ammo to resupply the troops on the front? Are YOU the type that gets ecstatic at the prospect of reconning a hill for 5 hours? More important, ARE YOU A TEAMPLAYER? In that case, you're in luck. Whatever your specialty, you'll find a place in the KS Army. Who we are. The KS Army is not a clan, but one of the factions in the IC-ArmA tournament, which is not a tournament but outright WAR. It works like this: Two armies (The kickass KS Army and the evil communist aggressors the DRS) fight over territory during a 12-week campaign. At the end of the campaign the one with most territories win. Simple. More info at www.IC-ArmA.com. What we do. Every weekend, the two armies clash in a massive battle that goes on for hours. In the week preceding the battle we practice, strategize, go pubbing, play COOPs or just generally shoot the shit on TS. We're an easygoing community with people from all walks of life and all ages. But make no mistake -most things we do are geared towards our primary goal, the complete and utter destruction of our vile enemy. Who should join? We don't really have any restrictions. However, as we're loosely modeled after a real army with a command structure and such, it would be best for everyone if you're mature enough to follow (and give?) orders. And of course, you need to be a teamplayer. Other than that, all you need is a legitimate copy of ArmA and a burning desire to stomp out communism in Sahrani. Joining is easy! Go to www.IC-ArmA.com and click 'Join a Division' in the left menu, then follow the instructions and make sure you choose 'Kingdom of Sahrani' as your army. See you on the battlefield/ robs456 Â Â Click here to sign up directly!

Two small problems with 1.06 (help)

I had this problem when I was running uTorrent while checking the ingame server browser. No servers showed up and the game 'hanged' for about 2 min. Try to shut down all unnecessary processes before you start ArmA.
