Something for ja2 and xcom fans

I love this game already. First tried the russian demo, and nothing says that a game is good like playing it for hours without understanding any text from it. I had a great experience in the allied map with three germans left in the house near the fountain. I sealed the exits with Viper (whose Russian voice I liked better, now he sounds like a redneck) and the medic aiming with their sniper rifles, then I had the Romanian guy and L.A. with MGs and Elf and Taras with SMGs enter the house through windows and doors. Taras and Viper shot one MG fellow trying to escape. Elf shot one guy who tried to surprise her point blank, sending him flying towards a window, breaking it and tumbling next to it. Then the medic and Elf finished the last one easily. Man, what a way to jump on my this years most wanted games list. It even has the Suomi SMG in it, great.

Finnish defence forces mod 1.0 released!

Hmm.. I get the muzzle flash thingie bug with the AK47 w/ grenade launcher (regular resistance grenadier has it) when FDF mod is activated. Something wrong with me or the mod?

Finnish defence forces mod 1.0 released!

Here's some BIS mp missions converted to use FDF mod units. There's five of them in the package and they're all coop or attack&defend. Two of them require the almighty Winter Nogojev map. I tried to choose the best counterparts for the original units so I wouldn't break the balance. I also tried to choose the best forces for the missions, for example in Return to Karjala, they're coastal jaegers because in the original Return to Everon, the troops come from the sea. Some of the choices may not be accurate, as my time in service is yet to come and I'm not an expert on these things. Anyway, enjoy. Download here. Edit: Filesize is 989 KB

Ah, great. But it's true, after this great achievement you all deserve a break. Though, it seems like I found a bug. If anyone said this before me, it looks like I'm becoming blind. But anyway, non-winter Reservist NCO and Officer doesn't seem to have pistol proxies, or what those things are in modmaker-language, anyway, they have invisible pistols.

Finnish defence forces mod 1.0 released!

Much praises, thanks and appreciation from me. I've been waiting this for so long. Though I must lower myself to request for something. First being the bicycle. Riding a bike to a ambush would make a nice mission. Then there's the second request, I usually play MP games on a 2 machine LAN, and most of the coop-missions included have many different teams. So, what I'd like, is AI waypoints for the teams, so our coop-games wouldn't form to a 2 men vs Russia battles. Oh well, these aren't so important, I can enjoy the mod even without these little things, especially as I now have the chair, which makes for a great mission objective in my Vääpeli Körmy -style missions. But those requests shouldn't take long to make, if you happen to have any extra free time someday. Kiitos ja anteeksi.

Airsoft & Paintball and those in between.

Nonooo, AEGs are the real thing. To me electric springers are usually pistols with regular batteries, those small kinds like in flashlights etc. Marui makes these and I used to own a M92F. They are kind of like the mini things, 'cept mini-aegs look like toys and according to my experiments with them, they perform even worse. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"> Getting a little John Woo/Laura Croft action going? <span id='postcolor'> Add some Max Payne style jumps and you've got it

Gas Blowback <span id='postcolor'> And in addition to these... There's the: Electric springers, automatic pistols operated by batteries, not gas. These are horrible horrible things and should never be even considered for airsoft, though they look cool with the blowback effects and they're cool to have little shoot-outs with minimal protection. Price seems to be between good springers and bad gas guns, which leads us to... Regular gas operated guns, same thing as the GBBs only without the BB. Like said by FSPilot </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (FSPilot @ Jan. 24 2003,21:17)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"> When you shoot a gas blowback pistol, you'll usually see the handle move back and forth with each shot (again, check each model to make sure)<span id='postcolor'> The ones that don't move are the 'normal' gas guns and they tend to be cheaper. Then there's the already mentioned mini-aegs, whoo boy, man, they look horrible, same thing as the electric springers, never ever consider buying these. BTW, playing around with two gas guns at the same time is great. Edit: Oh, I may or may not be correct on all the facts, correct me if I'm wrong

Ok, Karttakeskus hasn't been Karttakeskus since 1.4.2002, if I remember correctly, when it got together with Geodata and became Genimap.. but enough with the offtopic. This addon packy thingy just seems better and better, the idea of a new island is great. I haven't heard about Suursaari much but did a bit googling to find out about it and it seems quite nice. Just that there's not many good maps about it is bad. I came across with only two maps, the other one is an old nautical chart where the island is just a little speck and the other one is one colour thingie with absolutely no height information... But anyway, I hope this thing happens somehow.

Don't know much about airsoft grenades, only "explosives" I know are different m203 grenadelaunchers like these: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Category?menu1=5 and this http://www.nemesis-airsoft.fi/kauppa/?cmd=tuote&id=238 (Finnish shop, see a bigger pic by clicking it) Then there's this new thingy http://www.caw.co.jp/caw/launcher/index.html (that site seems to be in japanese) I guess they all shoot these, which shoot bbs out of them.

Airsoft & Paintball and those in between.

Whoa, just noticed this topic. Airsoft is quite popular here in Finland, though our prices seem to be horrible. We have quite few bigger games with plots and stuff couple of times a year I guess. I haven't been in the scene for a while. I participated in a big game called ussr vs nato (which had a plot resembling ofp a little bit) in the summer of 2001. There were some guys from other places than Finland too. Here's a pic of the ussr team and the nato team. Yeah there were some kiddies there but it was mostly fun, too bad the place has been taken apart. So, about guns, I have experience mostly of Marui's AEGs and some crappy springers, got my hands on some gbbs too. I myself have had a vz61 skorpion springer and now I have a FA-MAS, which I'm selling due to lack of money . But I hope to buy a new gun when I get a job. The famas is great, it's cheap, reliable and easy to use, great first gun.

    Kawasaki klr 250 motorbike

Great job, though it'd be great if you'd remove the hud-thingies (the compass, armor, fuel, altitude etc. on the upper part of the screen). If I remember right, on official vehicles, those are only on tanks and other bigger vehicles, cars and especially the jawa doesn't have them. I think by removing them, it would create certain continuity and this great quality addon would feel even more like work from BIS.

is for the chopper.  the amount of FFARS should be minimsed to seven because you should take one of the missile holders off...  also the light on top should be changed to a flashing blue...  Also the pilots uniform is too advanced.  It should be something like the same police trousers, but a different shade of green top...  and the helmet of course... 2 is for the trabant.  Obviously a flashing blue light like the one on the jeep is needed.  But what should also be improved is its armour... not so that 500 rounds from an mgun couldnt kill it but just a bit more.  I know Trabants are made of plastic but it should have an inside coating of somesort... Also here is an idea... why not make a police jeep with a hardtop or closed convertibale? also police would need a truck so why not reskin a PV35 ammo truck or something... Sorry to keep going on but here is one last idea:  one of the Resistance ambulances or perhaps a UAZ with Nogovan police colours and a red cross... you would need to create medics though...  Probably just Civilians with white trousers and a white button shirt with a red cross on the back and arms.  Oh yeah and a white red cross field hospital... just my brain saying stuff.. Edit;  ok i just realised my English is appauling in this post...  maybe its coz i wrote it at 6:30 in the morning... hmmm<span id='postcolor'> 1. It would be unarmed if I could make it that way. I'd do the light if I knew how. About the pilot, I like it, but I've considered making a new one.. maybe. 2. The blue light is needed indeed. The armour, it's just a trabant that they can use to do simple routine patrols and getting drunk people home (or the station). I don't think there's much people shooting the friendly neighbourhood police officer in a peaceful place. Other stuff: Maybe.

The police chopper is great, but would the police really have a chopper armed with FFARs? Maybe they should be disabled, or maybe a littlebird would make a better police chopper. 2. How about a police motorcyle? 3. Has anyone checked out the Police Makarov in Kegetys East weapons pack? 4. I really think a BRDM in Nogova Police colours would be cool...<span id='postcolor'> 1.
