I like both types of play, this depends what mood im in or how much time I have. I like the warfare map but think it needs some improvement. I like the domination map, when there are a decent amount of players. The problem i find when its pvp and large teams the comunication aint that good and everybody does there own thing. So if i had to pick a favorite at the moment it would be coop.. COOP PLAY- 5 VS PLAYER VS PLAYER - 2

I think if somebody is going to spend hours and hours doing it for arma they might as well wait for arma 2 and do it on that. Would be good thought to have something now while we wait -
Computers hooked up to a router, playing on intern

Strange, it must be something to do with how your router works, maybe something to with 1 ip address showing. I have 4 pc's on my network all with their own arma cd. 1 of them is a dedicated server but the other 3 have never had any problems joining another server at the same time. will try and look into it more -

They sort of have. By using a small aircraft carrier. I think Ivan mentioned the USS Wasp (LHD-1) in the Sahrani Radio interview. of course yeah i remember seeing it  feel a bit stupid now cos i even mentioned it in an earlier post, just completly forgot about it -

I hope they include more than one airport like in arma where there are four. It makes things more equal when having 2 or more sided games.. -

First of all, I've never played Battlefield And I'm just a one man team so adding such stuff will take some time. Maybe in a later release. Again... maybe in a later version. That is one of the things that I've allways kept out of Domination and probably one of the things that will never make it into it, at least not from my side (though as everybody is allowed to modify Domination maybe someone else will implement it). I personally simply dislike such systems, that's one of the reasons I haven't played Evolution for more than a year and one reason I don't like Warfare (completely destroys teamplay in my opinion). You are allready able to limit weapons for soldier classes. Take a look at init.sqf Allready implemented, again take a look at init.sqf The drop support should be much better in the upcoming release. You can lock different enemy AI vehicle types in the next version (armor, car and air, default all vehicles are usable). In the upcoming release the parajump feature will not be available at base anymore (though if someone still wants it it's easily enabled in init.sqf). Maybe I'll remove the parajump flag from the main targets too. Makes things like transporting people and MHQ more important again. Xeno Firstly i have to say that im impressed with your version of this map. i never liked it when the original came out with the rank system etc. I am so glad that you are not doing any reward system cos thats the worst part of any map. i think the warfare map would be so much better if it had a different system than getting cash for killing a enemy. Really nice work on this map look forward to any new versions you release. BTW have you done any version where it has the grass in or did it cause problems

Like the map, the best thing is being able to get more troops and viehcles when away from base. Do the racs make aircraft cos i did not notice any?

I have an idea for warfare that i want to make but not sure if it is even possible would be grateful if anybody could advise before i go any further. The idea is this: I want to make 2 permanant bases one for each side. They will both have all the factorys etc along with all defense installations. I want the factorys to be able to produce a vehicle at set times eg the heavy factory can produce a vehicle every 5 mins etc. I dont want the money system included at all. The object will be to capture as many towns as possible before your base falls. The side with the most captured towns is the victor.

At this point im confident to say that Arma 2 is a sure buy and OPF2 is a maybe, CM have yet to show us a game. That could be because BIS has just been makeing minor additions to the same game now for 7 years, so they will always have something playable to show ... but CM is building a whole new game basiclly from scratch. So 6-8 months from release (if the q1 2009 release dates stay true) its no real supprise CM dosn't have a ton to show. That last 6 months of a new games development is when it all comes together, and its likely we'll start to see more from it in the next few months. Then and only then, when we see OFP2 up and running at full potential, will anyone be able to form a full opinion as to which is better... any opinion formed before that, at least about the look of the game, is simply bias and unsupported by facts. So my original statement is true... without seeing Codemasters game developed to the same point as ArmA2, its impossible to tell which one will be better. Tho I will say this... Codemasters seems to be adding a lot of features the community has been asking for from BIS over the last few years. It seems they might have listened to the community post Flashpoint alot better then BIS has. This is likely because they know doing that will help sell the game... or perhaps they actually care what the community says. Where BIS clearly just does what THEY want, and don't seem to put as much stock into the many, many good community suggestions that have been thrown around since Flashpoint. Thats going to be a huge selling point to the countless OFP and ArmA1 fans who are getting kinda tierd of playing the same game for 7 years now. Â So the potential is there for OFP2 to absolutly crush ArmA2... but since ArmA2 is build on top of an existing platform, it might well be a better looking, better running game. Right now its a toss up... only time will tell who will win. Minor aditions.. I understand when something pops out of nowhere it usually causes a greater impression but the aditions and improvements that led to the current version of the BIS engine are far from minor. From bringing it up to DX9, satellite terrain data and multiple detail layers, terrain and data streaming, skeleton based animation, netcode improvement plus JIP and VON, new scripting language and comands, improved water simulation, improved sound engine, ambient life, animated vegetation (wind), improved ballistic code, material penetration and deflection, draw distance and increased number of world decoration, 3D iron sights, new vehicle classes, multiple turret support, etc. The foundation might be the same but many things were implemented or rebuilt, a better game could have been made out of this improved technology but we all know why things turned out the way they did and we were lucky to receive prime support and free aditions/content. I believe game development is a very complex field of work so i dont consider anything to be minor.. Listening to the comunity.. hello, does anyone hear meh?! What you say is just rude, do you remember when everyone wanted a bridge to blow up? motorcycles? Handguns? Female character models? How about 3D iron sights and animated trigger fingers? Well... i believe they try. Its just that they just cant make everything we want because they cant make everything they want, no one can do everything and i dont know what OPF2 will have that Arma 2 wont but i know Arma 2 will have a good feature set. Thats why we are here, not because of what the game lacks but because of what it has to offer (and other games lack). Conclusion? I think Arma II is going to be a great game, with a nice SP campaign, great MP and editing potential. I have no idea about OPF2 because i havent seen it, i havent seen its a.i. involved in a large battle or a huge detailed pice of ground with 2/3 km view distance, havent seen its editor, havent seen anything conclusive really. Im not going to deny one product in favor of the other like a fanboy, if both are good i'll grab both and be happy about it, i just happen to think that BIS is more likely to create the product that im after, CM being a big corporation is more likely to make a product aimed for the mass market. Public servers, replacement packs, incompatibility and last but not least, personal opinion. Addons packs force people to play it one way or the highway, it also stops a majority of newcomers due to the fact they have to now download a bunch of random files for a game they can easily find elsewhere.... totally agree. Some of the things you have put it this mission will out way the cons if you take out the addons. the ai air abillity for a start. would love to try it but am not willing to put all the addons in

Thought i had done but got other problems with the map at moment, as soon as complete will post here. btw did think about making all towns to capture but there are too many and think it would be too long a game

One thing i dont understand is why the recomended spec is a quad core, when as far as i am aware they are only optomising for duel core. would it not be better just to get the fastest duel core?

Is this happening everytime? I actually had this the other night,but was only for one game? Yes it seems be be all the time. a few other things i have tried to alter have caused the same problem. Lol you think your old, ive been gaming since space invaders first came out 10p a game and i got that good at it they banned me from the curry shop where it was sited. I will be buying arma 2 because i love the scope of this sim, I remember longing for a game of this magnatude then flashpoint came out. Arma 2 is this game but with lots of improvements and thats good enough for me.. -
