What he means to say is we all laugh at you for being so incredibly ignorant, close minded, and blinded by your faith.

EveronVetsAgainstTheWar replied to Akira's topic in OFFTOPIC
China is a growing threat to the world. Just like Russia was this century. It's the same situation all over again. -

Duke, if you were even halfway intelligent you would know that "Under God" wasnt added until 1954. Our country founded : 1776.

Well I already had this discussion on another forum and I hope you don't mind me just copying and pasting my views here. Well as no one is giving a counter point to this issue, and conservative right wing propaganda is rampant, my first post will be about this. The man had every right as a U.S. citizen to make a case defending his daughter's civil libierties. His argument was that his daughter was forced to listen to other students in her public school (which the state requires her to go to and does not give a choice of schools) recite the pledge of alliegance every day with the prayer like "under God" in it. How is this unconstitutional? It's quite simple, if you have a basic knowledge of the constitution. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." That is a constitutional right, garunteed to us. However, when in 1954 president Eisenhower (under pressure from ultra right wing christian organizations such as KKK, Christian Knights, etc.) pushed an act to include the words "under God" following "one nation," in the pledge of alliegance. This was to combat the godless socialist America was at war with. Interesting fact about that, the pledge of alliegance was made up by a christian socialst around the turn of the century. But without the words "under God". Also the original salute to the flag was a "roman salute" which you and I know as a Nazi salute, right arm extended outward. This was changed to hand over hear in the beginning of World War II. Back on the subject of our constituinal rights, we are garunteed seperation of church and state. When a child is forced to listen to other children say the pledge, which has a prayer like line in it, her civil liberties are being impeded on. After the ruling that the pledge of alliegance was unconstiutional, Congress had a fit and they all got overly patriotic and very stubborn. They didn't think about constitutional rights, they only thought that Under God was the norm and someone was attacking america by bringing up the illegality of it. The person who brought this to court is more American than any one of those congress members, because he respects and defends the constitution. Live free or die.

Why are your fingers wrinkly when wet?
EveronVetsAgainstTheWar replied to ChickenHawk's topic in OFFTOPIC
The tips of fingers and toes are covered in a tough, thick layer of skin which, when soaked for a long time, absorbs water and expands. However, because there is no room for this expansion the skin buckles, hence the wrinkles. -

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (placebo @ June 27 2002,16:59)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">My Mum has always been a religious person, having a strong faith and being a regular church goer etc. After having my sister and myself her health suffered until she had a couple of heart attacks, then in 1993 my Dad was killed in an accident, there is only one thing that kept my Mum alive after that and it was her faith. My Dad was her cornerstone, her foundation, she relied on him for everything, before my Dad died she'd never even signed a check before. She came through that, she's still with us, still strong, still healthy, still believing, I don't know what is up there watching over us but I know that my Mum's faith in it is the reason I have one parent to day and not none. Also I look at it this way, yes I believe in God and Heaven and such things, people want to put me down for things like that, tell me I'm stupid or whatever, well I think of it this way, for the 21 years of my life that my Dad was around he was probably the most important person in my life, I still miss him today at 29 as I did the day he died, and yet people want to turn around and tell me I'm wrong and stupid for believing or hoping that somehow, somewhere my Dad's spirit and soul is still alive somewhere, whether in heaven, whether some other kind of further subconscious, well all I can say to those people who try to mock the thought of our loved ones still existing somewhere is fuck you (For the record this isn't aimed at any single person who has posted in this thread, occasionally I just like a lil rant to prove that I am indeed after all human) And remember tears make you stronger.<span id='postcolor'> God loves you!! That's why he killed your family!! </sarcasm>

RalphWiggum: Obvously What he's trying to say is that the coding in the command reference does not work in Mozilla because it is not pure XML, it has some IE only coding. I use mozilla too, it's more stable and kills popups
