this is a pool. You can discuss yes, but there is no reason to say "no, your a f***ing retard, and your wrong, i am smarter than you etc etc" or "i am right and you are wrong". I wonder why every thread g-c posts in goes in that direction. back on topic: i would go for a tweaked version of 1.08. What i felt was bad there was the fact that your sights were going down at some point. To much up and down movement (especially the weird down movement) and way to less shoulder recoil. Anyway, 1.08, 1.11 and 1.12 are a way to indifferent to the stance you are using ( by that i mean there is no difference at all in 90% of the cases. If you don't believe me check the configs yourselves). A bit too arcadish for my taste.

And by no means trying to rob this post, here is the mi28N i have been working on (not too much lately due to some lack of time ). You seem to be a bit more advanced than i am atm DigitalCent. Nice model btw Around 20k this one as well, 20.855 to be exact. Can loose up to 7k just by redoing the rocket pods

Is this a feature in VBS1/2, though? Hope ArmA II has it. Anything else new and interesting? I played the ArmA demo and the server would always go out of sync after a bit, but this was the demo mind. Keep sharing the new features/facts/your praises/qualms about ArmA! AFAIK walking inside vehicles is NOT gonna be in arma 2. shooting from some might be though

I'd say ppl who wanna play with ACE are not gonna play Evolution anyway:P (Or at least not only this as it does not encourage team play, and you won't be able to play ACE going rambo)

Really nice tank you got there! Bad things first: *The armor is way to high in relation with the other standard tanks..It can take up to 3-6 shot before it blows up *The commander's Mg is way to powerful. I was able to BLOW a t72 with about 100-150 bullets. i found that odd Good things: *I like the canon's recoil absorber that works *random markers *overall quality of the model and textures. Gonna put it besides Homer's and have a good comparison So, t90 next?

first of all i do like ppl creating threads with this kind of topic, demanding stuff....well done, that will surely get attention! Secondly, saying OFP flying models were better than arma, and just that is rubbish. OFP was a lot simpler and easier. This is not a flying sim, and all of you who thinks it is are very wrong. Besides, the current set does work, especially if you are using a joystick and NOT mouse + kbd. I can do almost everything that i want with a chopper i and really enjoy it. Please do not change it and make it easier. It would be good to have a learning curve, like it is now. In fact i really feel that some aircrafts are way to sensitive atm, like the harrier for instance... I agree on the survivability of the aircrafts, especially the choppers. It should be a lot better, crash-landing now, with the built in auto-rotation is a mess. But i know some MODs have that sorted, and it works a lot better.

well, out of the whole lot of arma players i know, 70% of them do not own QG. And it's not about them being cheap, it's about QG being crap....i don't wanna start a new discussion on this subject though.

If only it would be free of QG content. I do have QG, but by using the new models (witch are few) from it, it cut the access to it from 70% of arma players...pity I now this was a reason for not using it @ IC-Arma.

for custom fan profiles have a look at this: http://www.guru3d.com/article/article/449/3/ anyway, not that i needed that, but well (using att atm) i only got the low-level option whe it should be the performance 3d. I think that is because i do have an ATI x1950xtx, and not a nvidia card. Am i right? can the same thing be done for an ATI card like mine (although i do not suffer from sever stuttering.

about the new FOV: i know this is a matter of taste, still, i find it odd that the default view is zoomed in rather than out. I know i can change it in the player profile, and i know i can use true view mod, but still... And if BIS really wanted to do smth with the fov, they should have changed the camera for 1st person viiew from the current left eye to the right eye. for more info regarding this, check the thread here

It's part because server admins who allow only one mission to be played for days. I find that not amusing, and a show-stopper for the ArmA MP community. Right now on most of the public servers you find either Evolution, Domination or Sahrani Life. Not too many options, ehh? This can be seen from the new players comments, some really think that THIS is the only MP part of arma, witch is in fact very wrong...I really hope i am not the only one thinking like this.... -

Very little info here (no CPU, no OS, no drivers) *On vista: get the latest directX version here *Get the latest Nvidia drivers here I know for a fact that running under Vista SP1 can create problems. I would have the directX version and drivers up to date nevertheless.

@Spoon: i am not talking BS here. We tested it @ IC, and even with 20 ppl on we had quite a big desynk. It depends how many ppl you need it for. But as i said, it is indeed a very good script. Sad that is no way to customize the Tags a bit more via some profile/server config

I have already check the matter. Suma PM me saying it cannot be changed via config or script. Similar to spoon script (witch is very good, but adds some more stress on the server) is Loyalguard's script Friendly Tags are good for a Pub server, but, as you said, give the players way too much "awareness", so no go if you strive for realism.

Well, i am beginner, but not that much. I got all the tools needed, i was also able to make my viewer work *by installing over the current o2 the same version* I have read the tutorials smarty pants . But yeah, thanks for the reply Thanks for the reply Linker, i'll have a look at the Eliteness thingy.

I am pretty new to the o2(witch, as posted in BIS tools troubleshooting, has no no viewer for me, and i cannot make that work) and texview. The easiest way for me to understand how things go is by looking in some other models, textures and materials. But 1.the models released by BIS have no texture and no materials (i understand that as they said they have released only the models, not the materials as well). I would like to know where the default materials are (if there are any) so i can config my own textures according to those. All the rvmat that i was able to find in the original pbos are somehow coded as i cannot open them with the material editor, nor with the notepad (in fact i can open them with notepad but the values are missing). I want to know if i am doing something wrong (as stated above i am quite new to this) or if all the content is somehow protected. I have already read linker split's tutorials and a bunch more. IE: where can i find the t72's material rvmat file?

You open up threads like this just for fun? This is hardly gonna happen, and i'd prefer NOT to have melee weapons at all, rather than turning this in CS knife system. You really need to understand what are the priorities for a game developer, and making new animations and configs just to fit your Hollywood ideas about a realistic stealth system is something close to utopia. Regarding bayonets, do you even remember the last time a real army has used something like that?

I disagree with you. The mouse and keyboard are a must in any FPS game. If BIS is gonna bring auto-target up, then yeah, but untill then, anyone using a gamepad to aim will die 3-4 times before he could get a chance to shoot a guy with a mouse. Even if i understand the reason BIS is going for consoles (harder to steal the game) i hope they will think about porting the game from the PC to consoles and not the other way around. You cannot play a game like this with only 12 buttons on a gamepad, i am sorry to say that.

The server is currently located in US, though IC admins are looking in switching to a server in UK. The ping is not an issue with ArmA, unlike other games. It is because how the netcode is done, ppl with higher pings will receive a higher number of packages. I am EU, i have 150 ping but no problem with desynk or lagging all over the place. The MOD also includes: Custom skins Custom Weapons and Vehicle configs Custom Bradley Custom T80u and more..., including upcoming custom islands especially created for this tourney http://arma.totalgamingnetwork.com/sc/news_img/ic3scrim2.wmv

After some testing: Partisan Medic. Rolling Eyes -SLA Weapons Crates still contain M203 instead of GP25 rounds. -AH6 flight control model now has problems. -Oil fields derrick animation way too fast. -Choppers still take little or no damage when ground impact occurs on the nose. -D30's now operate underwater. Shocked -FFAR & 80mm dumbfire rocket sounds removed. -MP5's still pickup SD rounds before normal, unlike every other weapon. -M136 rounds still at the supersonic batman speeds of 1.09. -Recoils are still stupid and arcadish for all weapons, 50cals have almost-no recoils, m24 is deadly accurate and almost recoilless. -MK19 still screws the damn stability and bounces the vehicles way to much. VON is working fine right now, if only there would be a separate slider for its volume. The damn radio reports bugs me off big time when trying to communicate. I got a problem with LODs on 1.11, so in order to get this working i am using -vm108.. It's a bit strange to say the least.
