Cheers Opteryx, a very quality update. PS: I got the same black wheat problem at medium distance.. @mehman: do you actually need all that detail?

@Andre: If you are looking for a casual coop game, other that the usual evo, warfare and SL, you might wanna check CIA, GOL, or my own clan KH, as we all host events from time to time (CIA on a regular basics) open to public. Just look for MP section announcements. If you are looking for a non-respawn tourney, you might wanna look into OFCRA. They are french indeed, but they have recently started having a "Foreign Legion" on each side. Worth checking it. -I am currently a 14 month IC vet, former MOD lead, 9 month ATOW member - 2 as active member, 1 month OFCRA member. Al are different in terms of gameplay, the IC has the most players and altogether it is virtually lag-free. @andersson: That is something that has been discussed in the past, the only problem is that it might affect even more the server FPS (bear in mind that the common numbers are ~90 every game), which is already low, and it would need a total rehaul of the MOD (implementing the scripts), and the way everything is set. I am not saying it might be better or worse (in terms of gameplay will surely make it more challenging indeed), as i never got the chance to test it. Maybe in the future (read ArmA 2) or in a test game. Sorry for the offtopic parts...;)

That is gonna be as expensive as you can get. For that money you can get a really nice PC (quad, or wait for 6 or 8 cores cpus) and drag it after you. There is already the QX9300 mobile processor out there, which is the first mobile quad core released. Only Asus has announced his future laptop (you can already find it in online stores for about 4500$ ) http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9761814-7.html http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=12427 Also, some guys over extreme notebooks stuck a PC q6600 into a laptop case. It weights the same as a PC though (more or less) http://www.xtremenotebooks.com/index.p....16_inch

Bring it on!

a medium-skilled modder can put together his own small addon and call scripts from there. DOACS is just a small plaster. what you actually need is having signature check on. That is the best bet you have. Since my clan uses sig check, we never had any problems. Yes, we still do have DOACS on, but that is not gonna keep things away. The bad thing about verifysignature=1 things is that you'll need to put all the keys on the server machine, and some addons don't even have those keys (i am still amazed seeing stuff released with signed files really). So you might wanna create your own key, sign them yourself, and use Yoma or alike to get them to ppl.

Yeah, that is something i miss from OFP...

Nicely done!

Kellys Heroes clan is planning a new VTE event. This is gonna be a public one, just like before, based on your subscription. TS is mandatory in order to take part. Stand bye for further information (such as time and date, addons needed etc)

damn, spooner, you kept that secret! Couldn't listen to it yesterday, but i am now (seeing what spon lied about :P) EDIT: Very good interview. But i subscribe myself to what Q posted below.

That video card will not run arma properly. Maybe on low details. From what i can tell about arma, it really feels good only in powerful video cards presence.

Keep up the good work aush!

SeXyWombat's Tank Damage System
PuFu replied to SeXyWombat's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
really nice project you got there wombat -
I got the following rig, and i am not that worried about my arma 2 performance, although i might upgrade it AFTER release: E6600 (running stock @2.4, OCed to 3Ghz) - my reliable 1.5 years old cpu. 4GB DDR2 4870 512 GDDR5 If you want to upgrade specifically for arma2 (and maybe OFP2) i would say hold your horses. The Q9450 was 200e more expensive 2 months ago, same goes for the e8500/8600..I prefer to see what i can run before running to the first PC store and getting me a new rig (the celeron, and pentium D to be excluded here) I am looking forward to actually seeing a quad CPU utilized though...

Because, whatever ppl are saying about BIS, they do respect the community, and i believe they'll try to climb back towards the OFP level, by fixing the mistakes they have done, and by delivering a proper game...i would say: take your time, don't rush it. OFP2 might end up being a cool game after all, but i never have faith in ppl who have little to no prior experience in war sims. Besides, i want to see some ingame content, before i can judge.

ACE is a standalone MOD. It does feature a lot of realistic/gameplay changes, as well as new units and vehicles as well. I'm not gonna go in details here though. Regarding ECS compatibility...i am uncertain atm, someone else from ACE might answer you that better than me. But tbh, i don't think you will need ECS anymore since all or most of the features you see in ECS are gonna be covered in ACE, in one form or the other.

The most important features ARMA 2 needs to have
PuFu replied to Stryder's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Unfortunatly, i think you are right. And this would have been one of the main improvements arma needed...together with some better and more fluid animations..... -
I see no point in that. If you play with noobs, you will never learn anything....i see no point in having gimmicks improve the gameplay, as they never do...And one more thing, in AA, you play the same god damn mission over and over and over again. In arma, i never got to play the same mission twice one after the other...it's not tha same type of game anyways

i knew you were cooking up something kju. Keep up the good work!
