    Making an Addon Mandatory

the best way to do that would be to add the addon you want to use on the server to the mission addon request. It could take a bit of editing, but would do the job in the end.
  2. ALWAYS read the map coordinates: Bottom to UP, Left to right (or in other words, Horizontal digits, then Vertical ones) 1km sq - 4 digit map 100m sq - 6 digit map Always use the compass as well as binoculars. I am not really sure how many ArmA players can read distances with those 2 tools, on the map, and in game screen though... PS: images courtesy to Jones, CF ArmA2

    Any news from b.i.???

With BIS, betas are released to everyone before they release a patch called final(cough, arma1 latest released patch is still beta...for as long as i can remember). So i am sure you will get you testing.
  4. IR strobes - yes it is possible, ACE`1 already has them, ACE2 will deof have them on release Last know eject location for a pilot should also be possible
  5. There is no such script as far as i know. But could be possible by using the camera commands, since that allows you to lock your view on a target. i would start by looking over some of the spectating scripts
  6. i r nt sur3 if any1 wil tak hiz tim3 2 r3d0 teh c0nfig 4 it. Als0 wiz teh nw3 shad3rs add3d might n0t w0rht it
  7. please put that on dev-heaven, and give more details, such as rpt file, driver used etc etc

    Any news from b.i.???

this is NOT another "hey, i got a problem" kind of thread...so i don't understand why some of you are posting here anyways... This is about new about a new patch. If you wanna keep on bitching about poor performances on your computers, there are so many other threads for that...

    Three Questions

doFire please explain further....your music to do what with it? Play it? In that case playSound or playMusic but the sound needs to be in a converted to ogg first, and defined in the description.ext It is possible, only in SP. Use setAccTime
  11. "some missions" is really generic. It's surely in one of the sqs/sqf files...:) on a more serious note, the script should be named is such a way that you would be able to find it (if the mission designer had done it in an organized way). Without knowing witch mission you are talking about, and the link to it, don't expect someone to be able to tell you where to find it
  12. wow...i don't know how i was able to miss this thread until now. Brilliant work mate!

    Download

    not released yet, no
  14. @Manzilla - hate to quote myself...but: as for being able to add them via mission....well, if it's a script, it should be possible...took just a brief look over them really, so i can't give you details i am afraid. Might take a closer look in a few though
  15. the flare system on the F16 can be ported to any other addon. The scripts are there to use, pretty self explanatory as well.
  16. You are talking about how a script should handle the destroyed vehicles (or the ones abandoned) and how the mission designed has set it up. There is no general recipe for that. So i don't really get the scope of this thread....

    UV mapping: how?

yes, correct...useless is an overstatement. But i think most if not all who have access to any other modeling program will use that instead.... could have something to do with my "love" for o2 ;) previous post edited

    UV mapping: how?

Hey mike, soul assasin described pretty well what UV-map is. *uv unwrap being the process of reaching the UV map*. Regarding further information, the same technics apply to basically all 3d modeling programs. Yes, some, such as 3ds max have some features that would allow you to get the uv unwrapped easier than other. But this is not the point. I would suggest using for modeling a 3rd party software. Don't worry about max, maya or other really professional and expensive tools (i use 3dmax because i have a license for it for my architecture projects, otherwise, i wouldn't bother just for ArmA). My suggestion would be to get blender, which is 100% free, it's a lot more flexible than O2 (you will still need O2 nevertheless, but it's not really the best tool to use for modeling) and there are plenty tutorials about it. Also, 3rd party UV Unwrap programs such as UV Unwrap (there are some others as well, but can't really remember them now) might come in useful. Conclusion - there are a few ppl who are actually modeling in 3rd party programs, due to o2 limitation (and well, seeming to be a lefty once used with a more professional software)

    Editing units

Telling you exactly would mean doing the work for you, and this is out of the question, hence the very few replys on your request. No one is gonna do the work for you. Yes, it suppose to be simple. Create a basic addon - you should be finding a quick template around on biki, all you'll need to look after is changing the name of your unit to MVD class (or whatever that is called), or just adding another class to the existing ones, and adding attendant = true; This should be a really easy job Hope it helps. Again, no one will hold your hand and write the changes you need done for you....
  20. GTX260 216 - Physics OFF - no FPS improvement Rest of Rig e6600 Oced @ 3Ghz (yes, i have tried with lower and stock clocks) 4GB DDR2 800Mhz CL4 2x320 HDDs SATA2 - ArmA2 not installed on the same Physical drive as OS seems my graphic settings are there just for the fun of it, changing them around from High/Very High to Low/Very Low doesn't NOT increases my FPS
  21. The bolded values should be in bites and NOT MegaBytes!
  22. not really as a model, but surely can do via custom face
  23. sceneComplexity value belongs in profile.armaprofile file and NOT in the arma.cfg @AxF Fox - at least if you are trying to help out and obvious putting some time in it, make sure your information is accurate.
  24. There is no syntax highlight program for ArmA configs as far as i know. I use Notepad++ since it allows me to mass edit a config, search-replace etc. Oh, and it's free and can open basically any type of file. Yes, correct. In a basic config for what you want, you will need: defines (optional) CfgPatches CfgAddons CfgVehicleClasses CfgVehicles etc in the define part, you can define anything you like, in order to use it faster and right down one line instead of 10. IE: #define SENSITIVITY_BASE_SKILL 1.5 - this will add a 1.5 value in the line you are using. Doing this can mean you can edit faster the whole config, just by changing that one value defined earlier rather than working your way through the whole config (especially if that is huge). you can work with config.hpp/config.h file no problem. Bin file is created on binarization of the whole folder, transforming it in a pbo. Obvioulsy you can binarize/rapify individual files as well. there is a number of user created software of that, as well as BIS ones (available in the ArmA BIS editing tools pack). I am using Eliteness by mikero Good luck!
