After +/- 10 years of running a business he'd probably does never have come into any legal stuff like this before, so yeah great for the heads up now that it is on the NET
-
The Terrain vs Unit shadow "bug" is with every shadow quality High and Very High Shadows settings do cast shadow on the unit while in first person, maybe not behind a wall but I'm sure when you move inside a building it casts shadow on your arms and weapon But I would really love "volumetric shadows" where treeleaves would only gives a soft shade while the unit in the shadow casts hard shadow. But maybe too much eyecandy and too less efficient

ATI Tool and ATI Tray Tool aren't the same, ATI Tray Tool is a must have for ATI users, as it gives you more and better control of your GPU settings than CCC gives. If you have a 38xx card you better use RivaTuner at the moment though.

Nothing more than; Would be cool if they'd support ArmA2 for both PS3 and X360 aswell, probably would buy all versions
-
You forgot to quote this part I wrote directly underneath your quote But I'm not trying to convince anyone of my oppinion, just sharing it to have another view on the subject. As I said, there are ways to get mods into the console version which I would prefer over free uncontrolled content
-
I'm not sure but maybe they went out of range?
-
Well he actually did made a point, maybe not directly but he did. If my console would fall victim to 'pc-bugs' like not fully optimized mods with errors and such then I prefer not to have a feature like this. Yeah I know it's still my own decision to actually download and install the mod but as soon as one is popular I would probably need it to play on most servers now wouldn't I? I guess there are enough people who don't care about a glitch or 2 as long as they get some nice looking camo or weapon or whatever in return. But maybe this is where PC and console should stay seperate, OR teams like BIS should set up a HUGE quality control center to check and validate the user made content before distributing it online. This is where Live-DLC is good for (now this is just for example!. With Xbox Live Downloadable Content, you only get the officially distributed content, this can be for free and it could cost a bit. The downside offcourse is that a team like BIS would probably not be big enough to actually do this on a let's say weekly basis But at least you know that the content you get will not crash your console and give you blue screens or whatever

I really want to know what the icons seen inside the vehicles are for! And I really love the advanced command system, if it would be the same for MP it's going to be awesome! I did notice in this video they did not have the graphics that high as they had in the earlier video's, the car did not look like the one we've seen before. And this time we could see that the mirrors are NOT working, but are at this point still the same as in current ArmA EDIT: "With the right weapons you will be able to destroy building completly." I like the sound of this if that means that damage really will be weapon specific then the damage system is updated aswell NOTE: ALL JUST SPECULATION! EDIT2: "ArmA has been sold 300.000 times up till now" CONGRATULATIONS BIS! I actually did not expect that much

I don't necesarrely need indoors as long as there are places to hide in or between or underneath Just played a MP Co-op and we where surrounded from all sides, 6guys vs at least 6groups of 5men. We had to make a run to some houses which where enterable, that really was what saved us because there was no other cover at all, no cars, bushes, trees, fences etc. I think you would have a great Close Quarters location if you would just place lots of scenerie like the above. Offcourse places like the QG radiostation are great aswell, but the way I play ArmA I only use them AFTER having gone through the entire city from building corner to the next, and I only 'need' to enter the objective building
-
Well I thought you could play on a QG-less server while having QG yourself, but the other way around is not possible I know that for sure. Server QG = Client QG Server Norm = Client Norm OR QG OR other mod folder (that's what I thought) as long as you allow different files on the server

It's from a pretty old vid showing off the capabilities of BIS' their mocap studio, a showcase vid for multiple games and other stuff done in their studio, and not even all by BIS them selves edit: I did notice that nobody posted this: http://img245.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pcg6wv3.jpg on the bottumn right it says that the current release date is: Fall '08

New thing to discuss What are the icons on the sides of this image? On the Left you see some type of hearthbeat and on the right a hand in the middle of that hearthline, what is that supposed too mean?

6thSense.eu Mod Reloaded, Public Beta Release
paragraphic l replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Nice job as always sickboy -
Sorry if it was not clear, but I meant that I know how to tweak my FPS with the ingame settings, but I want to know about other tweaks like ATI tray tool or maybe someone know that the 8.2 cat drivers are not optimal for this card? AA is allready on Normal, difference between Low and High is not that much really Do you mean that I should turn ON VSync? to check if I get higher FPS Checked with and without mods And with HDR=32 I have no more AA on which I enjoy MORE And well I don't get near 60 EVER with around the same settings as you have

Estimated Min. Computer Requirements
paragraphic l replied to dkraver's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Inkompetent, that is not really true Yes there where some who had the minimum and could barely play the game, I had a notebook that was around the minimum and could play with 30FPS with settings around normal (some higher some lower) But I do hope that will happen less with ArmA2 making it easier to enjoy the game, without having to tweak every little bit for the engine to take advantage -
arma2 ai voice implementation
paragraphic l replied to sandzibar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
It should be possible if not yet implemented. I can remember that Rainbow Six 3 for Xbox had this feature, where playing multiplayer co-op resulted in a whisper fest so you where not spotted I think there should also come an civilian/at ease voice state But for making mission making easier I really think some sort of TTS should be an outcome AND something I really LIKE would be different languages -
It is actually not that I don't have the idea how to tweak my FPS, if that means lowering my ingame settings, it is more that I THOUGHT I SHOULD get 60fps with these settings at the very least! Your example allready proves my point +20-30FPS with all worse but the 2Gb extra RAM Is it my card? the drivers? or did I just do something completely wrong on my end?!

Can't download but if you can play smooth with that system and these settings, please tell me what miracle it takes!

I thought it looked familiar, nice find lebson

Autumn (recolored) plants
paragraphic l replied to Przemek_kondor's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If you mean that you would spot enemies easier against autumn trees instead of green trees? For me this is not the case, the trees fit well in and the island is still 90% green and brown and only few% yellow and red -
ArmA Photography I - No images over 100kb.
paragraphic l replied to raedor's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Sunset in Autumn @ Eponia Photoshopped -
with my laptop that had a 1.7 ghz processor and 6800 Mobile GPU I allready could play with shading @ very high and shadows @ high but it does not really make much difference if I lower both only gains like 10 fps MAX

I've got a new system but the performance is not what I would've expected to get with this, it's actually almost the same as my 2year old notebook did. These are the specs of my new system and the current ingame settings; ASUSTek Motherboard P5N-E SLI Intel Core2Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz ATI RADEON HD 3870 X2 with 1024MB GDDR3 @ Catalyst 8.2 drivers 2GB DDR2 GEiL RAM @ 4-4-4-12 800Mhz Windows XP Pro 32-bit Ingame: 1280x1024 @ 60Hz VD: 4098m Terrain Details: Normal | AF: V High Object Details: High | Shadow Details: V High Texture Details: Normal | AA: Normal Shading Details: V High | Blood: High Post Processing: V High and I only get around 30FPS Am I aiming to high or should I get better performance with this system? Any hints or maybe found a bottleneck?

ArmA Gold supposedly releasing next week in NA.
paragraphic l replied to Arrowhead's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
QG does not actually CHANGE anything, it only ADDS some stuff So for the tracers, nope they are the same -
Had this problem when installing ArmA the quick way: copying from my old system into my new system... everything got screwed up like the above screens. A simple reïnstall fixed it for me.
