Nice tip, although you don't need photoshop for this, almost any image processing software has the posterize option in it. If yours doesn't have it, several websites even offer this service What posterize does is just remove information from the image and leaves the most distinct info in it, which causes abrubt transitions and the lower the number the less 'information' stays in the image.

Nice stuff, Shows the most new stuff I've seen so far Movie 4 in particular And again you see the icons appear in the screen, both left and right in middle height. Looks like it appears when in a fight and such... not sure what it represents yet but hope we get more info on this soon. Also they commented there is a limit of 30 seperate teams in the game but not sure in what way they meant that. here you can see them a bit bigger Looking great BIS, also the CTI looks a bit more promissing I see there is a HQ in it Both VD and Skytextures look good

You guys should contact the host... seems like there is some leak of sorts on their side.

Records Record: Blowing Up Paraiso with Ammo & Fuel Trucks Proof: [1] [2] Date: 30/01/07 More information: This one was inspired by the above videos by Arma Vidz and performed over LAN with a mate, constant 3FPS with patch 1.02 or something that was out around that time
-
I like it, it is a great improvement over the first vids BUT; - If the flock is WIDER you see it easier in a forest with less birds - If 1 flock is startled I won't expect to see a second in the nearby area being startled by units again - How about electricity wire? - There allready is an animated bunny, any chance of having it running over a field when scared? It's small and fast but will still alert you

For ArmA defragging always have been a golden-tip for people with low performance and undefragged-disks. It's no myth as ArmA uses your HDD pretty often... for defragging and ArmA there is even a BEST way to defrag and that is to set the ArmA folder to the center of the disk... this can be done with some less basic defragging tools

I definetly think it's overall the issue of people being scattered around the patches, yet if it divides co-op and pvp-ers. I don't think BIS is responsible for that. Overall I think the current player-base is growing more towards co-op and it appeals to more technical gamers for which the game is being advertised. Now I like a great TeamvsTeam game, but as I've heard others say, that's not why I play ArmA. And having TvsT like the Co-ops i play we need a new revolution in servers and maybe in the patches. And to be a bit more on-topic (sorry started reading the wrong question I guess) I've seen more people on the 6thSense server with the new beta's then with 1.08 or even older patches

retexture the seagulls into something fitting but DM is a 3D model to intensive for a script like this?

I've placed this in the 1.09 beta patch troubleshooting thread but I do not think it should've been there. So I create a new topic for this one, I've found others with about the same problem but the solutions did not work for me; - Try other patches - ReInstall game - ReInstall windows - Extract original files from disc Here is my problem as described in the other thread; I have a more general patch problem, it started going wrong with 1.09 giving errors about my arma.exe and armaserver.exe I never had any problems with arma before since german release! now after 6 arma re-installations and my first complete format and xp re-install I STILL keep getting patching errors like this: from patch 1.01 untill the latest 1.09b I have used severall downloaded patches as well as the complete patch included with Queens Gambit There are no scratches on my disc as it has been in my DVD Drive since the beginning! I have no idea what to do, if I say ignore to let the patch get installed I can play but with problems and well the german 1.00 version of ArmA was never really that fun to play System: Windows XP Home edition Intel Core2Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz ATi Radeon HD 2900 XT ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard 2Gb DDR2 800MHz RAM GEiL 4-4-4-12 (more info needed?)

btw why don't you use the original arma birds? makes it more challenging to spot a flock of birds instead of just a small default arma group flying around is this not possible or does it hits on the performance?
-
textures need to be lower for most GPU's high causes the texture lag as you only have 256mb onboard memory I'd recommend textures on low, only gives a small visual difference over normal. what are your shadow settings? if it's low or normal you might get a boost when setting it to hight as it uses an different way of processing the shadows. and your shading settings? if you have a steep performance drop near trees and bushes lower that aswell
-
So DM is it possible to give the birds an visible position in the trees? So you can avoid them? And offcourse if you integrate them do you select specific trees and make the possibility of them appearing at night less than during daytime?
-
your screen probably doesn't support anything higher then 85Mhz so it's locked by your system. 60 fps will not make to much of a difference over 30-40 fps for many, probably not even for you but having the FPS counter on your screen makes you believe it does.
-
Nice, something BIS themselves promised/talked about being in ArmA. Would love to see them going more forwards then directly up, and offcourse some sound, so you even notice some units from behind etc. But then there must be some way to not have this happen when in stealth or to avoid them somehow. It looks promosing and without what I suggest it will still be awesome

1.07 was the previous beta state, so you should rename/remove the current beta folder, then just go and install 1.12 as you don't need 1.09 nor 1.11

First off all, SLX will not, or only minimal, cause any FPS drops Second, the ammo counter is indeed removed and the crosshair you can turn off in difficulty settings But SLX is ECS compatible so if there is something not in SLX which is in ECS there is no problem @Others: SLX is made to improve the gameplay in ArmA, Solus did as much as he could to keep the game stable and performance as high as possible but did not design SLX as an magic ArmA patch. So if your server can only handle 16 people it will probably not handle 60 with SLX, at this point I'm not even sure if it will run smooth at any dedicated server, as most tests where done over LAN or SP as you can see with the results of this addon. But the MOD will come soon untill then let's keep this topic clean about the vehicles so we can fix the current bugs and maybe even finetune some stuff.

In two weeks SLX in Arma alters everything and Solus' his coding skills have grown since OFP SLX Just have a bit off patience and you'll be able to enjoy some AWESOME features. Hopefully Solus is back to release it himself

With Modfolders is cleanest way

There are more pages actually, but it shows only the last month as standard
-
from which publisher is your ArmA version? And have you updated it to at least 1.08? I have the german version but can select english since 1.05 patch if I'm correct. Before that there was the 6thSense english language addon.

Thank you Mr Groch! I've read the topic you've made about this problem and I'm glad you where willing to find the problem and fix it. Great job!
-
That was one amazing movie mate! You've put so much atmosphere in it, and it felt so right for a movie! The scenes, the settings, the camera work, EVERYTHING, just WOW. 15 out of 10 mate!

The vehicles where not tested in an MP environment so there might be some issues. Solus is away for at least 3weeks so he's not able to fix them at this point. There are two ways to have these issues fixed as quick as possible; 1. Be as clear and detailed when reporting your issues and how to reproduce it. 2. Fix them on your own and place them here as a temporary-fix The problem with both is that you will not be able to play online untill Solus releases the fixes with the right signatures.

Saying amen to above post and totally agree with above signature quote -
AMD CPU with Nvidia GPU might not be the best combination. But other than that it looks okay
