    The people who use british stuff are a small group and most have served /got a massive intrest,but us brits are funny buggers as in an eye to detail,and to be honest looking at what is already out and what BIS have made Sorry,but they look crap,but looking deeper in what units can do....says it all, awesome!!

    i rember playing with bimbi(prob spelled wrong) british units,then over the years ukf rksl etc, im a fan of british stuff yes and its nice to see the british army in this game engine from the dev. But i hope that the work of great guys like PUKF RKSL and new peps like stalker GB who have served our small but our great fanbase over the years are not forgotten.

    But i think its a great thing bis are doing as such,as in the more british stuff the better!!

    Disclaimer: No i cant make addons,anyone who makes/takes the time to do stuff are awesome.

    Yeah I'm affraid its still "when its done its done" just because every time I sit down to work I find more things I still need to do. On top of that I have been playing Borderlands alot too recently :)

    Personally I would love to get a release out soon because then I can take a break from it all so I'm going as fast as I can :)

    Thanks for your support but the problem is i am only a moddeler and can't texture or config and i need to learn this. To do so i would have to take time from moddeling due to studying for exams and learning both these things. It would be alot easier for me to get someone else to do these things for me untill i have sufficent time to learn both. So the mod will be put on hold indefintly for this period.

    Return of the Jackal

    A bit more work done. Textures are complete (not including dirt and scratches yet, thats still to be done as always), but thanks to swift88's recent trip to DVD2008 for some reference pictures, I now need to add the comms/ecm locker on the back as well as a couple of outriggers for comms antennas.

    Otherwise, time for normal and specular maps. She's a chunky girl, weighs in at just under 10k, but the jerry cans, at4's and weapons are all proxys, so theres a bit extra to factor in there. crazy_o.gif

    It already has bar armour on it. You can see that in the screens.

    WOW! I've only just seen the screen shots!

    you guys have done some fantastic work, but tell me this, will the flatbed be able to transport vehicles?

    My cousin used has just left the army after 21 years of service. He used to drive the tank transporters (only 45mph top speed apparently crazy_o.gif ) but if we could see them or the trucks on your screens carrying playable vehicles that would be amazing!

    Balschoiw is ex-military, with deployments to at least one less than favorable destination (Somalia), so that "nice cosy house" hasn't always been there wink_o.gif

    Something I found interesting when watching some footage is that he was wearing a ballcap favored by US special forces, and knowing that 3rd Group's major AO is A-Stan, I also noticed that he had a patch of what looked like the 3rd Group crest velcroed to the back of his vest when they showed the footage of him getting off the plane.

    Was he attached, or otherwise alongside US special forces? My knowledge of Brit military is limited, what are Ghurkas?

    No, I'm a prior US- Army serviceman with 2 trips to Iraq, 1 to Afghanistan, and in my time with USASOC I have been embedded alongside 2 seperate ODA's from 2 seperate groups, both of whom were using the hat. It was a simple observation followed by speculation. It's not my fault if certain people decide to make more of something than what is there.

    Not sure if you were trying to be witty or clever or something, but as someone who's been around for a long time you should know flame baiting is not acceptable. I personally can't stand the royals but your comment is still clearly offensive.

    I'm confidant that such an intense display of pure win and awesome would wipe out our collective 'following' by means of widespread heart-attacks and cranial-implosions across the community. That would leave nobody to play our stuff unless the euphoria resulted in mass-fornication, creating new generations of ArmA fans. Might be cool to do one day though. smile_o.gif
