I just got an Audigy 2.0-ZS and on 5.1 all is good in ofp. EAX enabled no pops or cracks. With the configuration utility and the latest drivers , setting up speakers for surround sound is good, tuning the sound to conform to the room you are in, speaker placement and angle, with the results being a very smooth transition between all the speakers. On stereo speakers, using the CMSS function worked good to centre the sound and broaden the aspect to suit room and speaker placement. (no sneaking tanks). And most importantly All worked great in ofp!! 1.96, I'm impressed with the upgrade Alot of stuff on the Platinum it seems you just don't need, all settings it seems are enabled to play with, a good cut down version.

I'm running a gexcube radeon 9800xt, with 4.2 catalyst. With a fresh install of ofp all worked great, Following: 1. Install game.        2. Patch        3. Run preferences "Auto Detect"        4. Play It was only when I tried turning everything up in the options, things turned bad! Definately 75-85hz seems to work okay even 100hz worked. High detail turned right up was okay.(Not Terrain Detail). FPS maxxed was good. Distance maxxed everything still good, but a bit choppy p4 3.2ghz. 1gig Ram Terrain Detail from Normal to Very High, only after turning down the view distance to make Very High available. This was the straw that broke the camels back!! Game crashed big time with a cannot createVertexPixel (static, "something else cannot remember") out of memory ? Or something very similair to this. And wouldn't get past the splash screens, without the same Error msg. With a solution, replacing the config and preferences from an earlier installation, this would allow game to load allowing me back into options, manually changing figures in file didn't work. But now I had invisible units with floating guns....hmmm Fresh install followed the 4. points above clean or with addons all seems to work on the radeon. with AA, and A-stropic right up, I was grabbing for a box of tissues.

P3-800, GFgts2, 256MB Ram, Windows 2000, Zone Alarm Pro, disabled Zone Alarm Pro then Uninstalled in an attempt to resolve loosing connection.

Suma, The problem for me seemed to creep in firstly with 1.91 as a Beta, two other p.c's on a Lan 3 in total. 2 patched to 1.90 1 patched to 1.91 beta. Very soon after release within 1 month from memory. After reinstall of OFP to 1.90, the same connection lost problem remained so it seemed that 1.85, for me, didn't cause the problem. All c.d's  were purchased 1985 and Res. One p.c. had RedHammer campaign. (*gold upgrade). I will get Lan details and the other system specs, this I'll post soon.

After you re-installed did you turn your view distance down or is it down far enough?

Thank's BIS you Rock!!

With the Serious loss of data on partition and loosing connection problems maybe we should put it to a vote so BIS and CM can get an idea of what the best approach could be for the greater community.
-
I agree very annoying!! 1.91 final, loosing connection problems. *see also connection lost thread And in the game dev's word's "There's a serious problem in Operation Flashpoint 1.75 and above (including versions 1.90/1.91). As Nyles mention's are you aware of this loosing connection problem in M/P? and if so what is it's possible cause? If the community are getting partitions deleted and loosing connection for no apperent reason, other than to be using 1.75 => and nothing is done about it, ofp2 will be a hard sell to those all but devoted fans. (Once bitten twice shy).

fully reinstalled from cwc to 1.91 minus red hammer caus of patching errors minus all campaign updates caus of patching errors, minus non official addons. same connecion lost problems mid game M/P only solution Alt+Tab open a browser window before you get dropped from the game. Tried leaving a browser window open, this seemed to work, not sure though out of 6 games 5 were ruined caus of this problem the final one I kept a browser window open and got a full game out of her without Alt+Tab work around. 1.85 didn't cause this problem.

Where's the Red Hammer 1.85 Mission #6 compatabiltiy Patch gone ?? Codemasters still have it available on thier site But. Has this been replaced by the 1.90 Red Hammer Patch? Or is this now the 1.90-1.91 compatability patch caus there isn't anything to get it from 1.75-1.90, other than a previously released 1.85 mission#6 patch now not on downloads page here, but still up at Codemasters?? Here's a sample of error.log created by patch 190 after installing 1.85 mission #6 fix \Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\CAMPAIGNS\redhammer.pbo: bad size: 16742967 (old=16754925, new=16742967) As you can see this is a really shitty time for patching to start going wrong prolly 2 or 3 from Reinstall being finished. Below is a readme with instructions to use 190.exe for 1.91 update. ***** OPERATION FLASHPOINT: Red Hammer Update 1.91 README ***** This package will fix some troubles in Red Hammer Campaign from Operation Flashpoint: Gold edition in version 1.91. REQUIRED: ========= ORIGINAL VERSION OF OPERATION FLASHPOINT: CWC with Gold Upgrade (or Gold Version) and OPERATION FLASHPOINT: RESISTANCE. Patch 1.91 installed. You don't need this patch if you have OERATION FLASHPOINT: Game of the Year edition! More info about upgrades and patches can be found on www.codemasters.com/flashpoint or www.flashpoint1985.com. HOW TO INSTALL: =============== Simply run OFP_RedHammerUpdate190.exe. It will update your RedHammer.pbo file in Campaigns folder. From searching on this Forum regarding this subject and Avon's faq troubleshooting and reinstalling Ofp. (you can imagine restarting Win2000 each major patch install). Can this be cleared up please as the readme's aren't shedding any light on the subject. Â I don't like feeling this way about OFP!!

This problem has also crept into my ofp gameplay, either LAN or M/P running 1.90 or 1.91 no addons. This was also with FW on and off. Â Â Sent necessary info to BIS support will try the alt tab work around for now, cheers if it works for me.

What is the best way to place things with the edit
pynaple replied to ejanvi's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Also a little note you can use the + or - keys on numpad to zoom in and out of map, for those precision placements. you gotta crawl before you walk and walk before you run. [x,z,y] co-ordinates can come later when you've used the editor a bit more. Have fun pynaple...out -
As the topic was locked and I was not able to use the quote function here's my answer to both of you!! Taking into consideration this official forum is used as a hub for information for old players and new. *quote LBGS_Stewart .. With the broadness of mind to figure some people don't have Resistance yet, don't have the time to make a special visit to a shop to read a box, have physical difficulties (wheel chair bound) or only have the original OFP that only just runs on thier p.c. maybe wanting to upgrade would like to know this information, from what I've read some players were hard up to check the options in Resistance to turn down view distance and terrain detail until smooth. Placebo if your the same one from OFPL I'd expect this sort of closed minded comment (showing promise in the last couple of words). Between the two of you being too concerned who's turn it is to go last in a game of soggy biscuit. You may have noticed this also. Just trying to keep an informative Forum informative GET THE POINT. pynaple ...out
