OFP2 and "armed assault" - what's up?
pong2cs replied to Cpt. FrostBite's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Something just dawned on me, what are the chances of "OFP2" becoming "Armed Assault 2" ? -
I don't care much for the title, though I realise it's value in the game industry, it wouldn't matter much to me personally, but just for the hell of it, only name I could come up with was: Cold War Crisis 2.

Imaginary requirements Based on my professional guess 1.6 Ghz 512 Mb RAM DX9 capable card 2-3 Gb HDD space (excluding 3rd party software) I could easily expect this from OFP 2 as minimum requirements, although I have no clue as to what the truth is. My idea is, despite graphically overwhelming, like HalfLife 2, it will still be capable of running on older (compared to release of game) hardware. I hope I'm not stepping on any toes by voicing my personal guess.

Well there are the bug fixes, otherwise what would be the point? Oh, and a little dandy feature that I think most OFP users enjoy, though I believe it's not to be discussed, beats me why...

I've seen that center picture somewhere in a video about the marines in Iraq, some dude doing the moonwalk on the highway... What island is that?

Operation Flashpoint 2: Combat United.

In OFP flaps are useful in Cessna too . When you take off without flaps always have some damages . Funny, never really seemed like that to me. I always take damage getting the Cessna airborne or even land it.
-
Jesus that's a lot of neat features.. ... But belly landing sounds? I though it was impossible to belly land in OFP?

I also have a 9800 Pro 128Mb, and all I can say is that it runs picture-perfect. So what Kroky says can't be right. I'm running with the unofficial Omega drivers (www.omegacorner.com), should you wish to try them.

Bah, I have a problem with .zip files, whenever I click a link to a .zip file, it automaticly starts downloading to a temp folder, so whenever I right-click the link, to save to a specified folder, I get a "nolinking.php" instead... Pffft.

No whining edition? What's that supposed to mean? And the DKMM_RSC that comes with the pack is smaller than the one I have now, which should I use?

It is likely because you have internal IP's, therefore you are both known as the same IP externally. It's easy to find out, if your IP is 10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x, you have internal IP's, but if they start with something else like 80.x.x.x or 60.x.x.x, you have external IP's. Just go into Start -> Run and type "ipconfig", without the quotes. The only thing to do against it would be to have 1 computer sit outside the network and have an external IP.

I'm not quite sure I get it yet. How much different will the Pavehawk be, in terms of usage within OFP, compared to the Blackhawk?
-
Basically, what Harnu is saying (or rather, what I understood), is to turn vehicles into airplanes. Looking at OFP now, all vehicles (except planes (and helicopters, but that's different)) slow down to a stop when releasing the speeder. The planes however, remain at the specified speed. Except when on ground, where the plane slows down to a stop when going slower than 20 Km/H(or 18, it varies). I like Harnu's idea, and suggest that it be made excactly like the Aircrafts, with the exception of the 20 Km/H stopping maneuver. In short: I agree with Harnu.
-
Completely empty, it can take off at 70 Km/h.

Cant find any ref to a chally? If you're looking for referrence, it never hurts to check FAS.org. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/challenger2.htm  Or did you mean something else?

Link doesn't seem to work... Â Correction: FTP denies access.

Great script in my opionion too, but is the vehicle supposed to appear 5 feet above the ground no matter how high in the air you are? I tried doing one of them low drops where the cargo gets pulled out the back of the C-130 by parachutes, ended up with me blowing up...

This version flies a "little" better than the 1.15 did. It tilts faster, and not only that, but it's the first plane where Flaps really are useful. It has working flares, comes in 2 schemes... Not much different than the 1.15 one, but definitely worth it. Though I can't remember correctly, I seem to recall it being an older version...
