I think that started with the first patch that included the version checker thingy, it annoyed me as well because I deleted the SP missions a long time ago, the way I solve this is I have the SP missions in opf/temp then when I'm about to install a new patch I simply copy them over and delete them when the patch is installed

If all that fails have a look in tlx's sound problem thread here and read up on the pci latency setting stuff, changing that setting from 32 to 64 seems to have solved my own sound problems

I too had the same luck as tlx trying to find you some new drivers, have you tried playing around with the hardware sound and eax options in Opf? alternatively you can try lowering the hardware acceleration a notch or two in windows: control panel/sounds and audio devices/ in the "volume" tab click advanced, then click the performance tab, you're finally looking at the hardware acceleration sliders, try playing around with that

Why would someone want to fly a Spitfire in a flightsim when they can fly a modern plane or whatever? It's not about how good/bad the weapon was, it's about the fact that it has historical significance to us
