Opf is being played on anything from a P333 with 128mb ram to 2ghz P4's, yes they have to use different graphical settings but the fact is the game can run, and run quite well thank you very much Hmmm I'm starting to wonder what my point was..... Â ok well IMO Opf's graphics are rather fine and dandy thank you very much :O) Yes we'd like 8squillon polygons in every unit/weapon/vehicle, we'd like to have every blade of grass animated and blowing in the wind, but right now it just isn't possible, Opf4 perchance?

    What OFP multiplayer REALLY needs?

JIP (Join in progress) is not going to be implemented into Opf, no matter how many threads people make asking for it, it just isn't going to happen, maybe it'll be in "Opf2-Dimitri's Revenge" who knows

  13. I was under the impression that Red Hammer contains (and installs) all patches between 1.00 and 1.30? Thus patching to 1.30 and making 1.42 the only other patch currently needed?

Copied&pasted from an ISP forum which in turn was copied and pasted from "LOCKERGNOME TIPS" whatever that may be Note this is for XP Pro only, not applicable to the home version............. Are you "at home" with your broadband connection? No pun intended. Windows XP may be cutting 20% off the top. Unless your computer is a server of sorts, it has been recommended that you turn off QoS (Quality of Service). As Lockergnomie Leslie Smith relays: "The QoS 20% reservation in XP is mostly for its services - like Automatic Updates and various server functions. This sort of thing is done by Windows XP through the Network component known as the QoS Packet Scheduler. Look in the Properties page of your connection under My Network Places. XP still reserves this bandwidth for itself even if you don't have QoS running. To get that reserved bandwidth back, enter "GPEDIT.MSC" from the Start Menu's Run command to bring up the Group Policy Editor. Then, look under Administrative Templates \ Network \ QOS Packet Scheduler. Right-click on the "Limit Reservable Bandwidth" option and select Properties. Enable it. NOTE: enabling this won't limit your bandwidth, it just turns on the component that allows you to change the amount reserved. Now, change the amount reserved to 0% and click OK. Some systems may need to reboot to see the effect. This won't increase the speed from your ISP, but will speed up overall throughput on your PC.

  22. AFAIK US & UK versions are 100% compatible (i.e. seperate patches aren't released for the two version) Yes Installing Red Hammer degrades 1.40 to 1.30 (this is a known problem) the simple reason why this happens is that Red Hammer was released before 1.40, what you should do after installing Red Hammer is to install 1.42 over the top thus taking it back up to 1.42 (I believe 1.40 is no longer needed thus no longer mentioned on Bis' site?) It might be an idea for you to do a complete uninstall, then install Opf, then Red Hammer then 1.42. BTW UK Retail is 1.00 as fair as I'm aware? Not really an important point just thought I'd bring it to attention so to speak If I'm wrong about any of this someone will correct me post haste, I'm typing fast as my sofa is calling my name

  24. Also maybe you're using a different nickname in GS from the one you use in Opf? they have to be totally identical. Maybe nothing to do with it, just a hunch
