Sounds like your router/firewall is locking you out, assuming you have a router/firewall?

If you run the game at the same resolution as your desktop the double mouse pointers can appear, normally I run my desktop at 1024x768@32bit, I also run Opf at that and sometimes get the double cursor, last couple of nights I've been hosting Opf games so dropped my Opf res to 800x600@32bit and have had no double cursors
