you can export the settings in hkey_local_machine for bis. there's also a player setting in hkey_current_user, but i'd guess that's probably not necessary to start it up. (do a search in regedit for arma) my docs and local settings have config|mission info that can be saved. the problem might be the copy protection. i can imagine starforce or securerom versions would require a complete reinstall.

i can only speak to the sprocket download (cz version). i'm in the usa. it's 2.7gbs, and didn't take too long to dl. iirc, it maxed out my dl connection - 550/kb. it cost $44.50 and i used visa debit. i haven't had any technical problems with the sprocket download system/setup. the only copy protection it has is an online activation whenever you install it. it could be a pain if you have to reinstall a lot or the activation site is down, but it sure beats starforce or securerom, imo. the english patch works fine with only a few spelling errors from what i've seen - tutorials and first mission. sickboy's done a fine job on that language patch<thanks sickboy!>. hopefully the english patch can become independent of a particular arma patch in the future. (does that make sense?) the uk release is on feb 16th, i believe. no date for a us release - no us publisher has been announced yet. so if you want arma anytime soon it'll be czech or german now or brit next month. i would imagine 505 will start a download service for the english version when their release gets going.

since when did the my sproket version come with starforce? dear brk_bigboss, This is old news that SF comes with Sprocket. SF is inactive it seems durring normal play (That is, unless its the one crashing the MP games) You can test and see that SF is here for yourself by: 1- Download the patch 1.01 (yes i know sprocket comes with it already patched) 2- install it 3- Play it and you will see that starforce pops up. Anyways Please BIS, Sprocket, or Softwrap help us fixing this problem that way we can all go home and finaly play this awsome game to its full extent! "old news" that the download has sf? where is it "old news"? i have the dl version and have run the sf unloader several times and nothing pops up. perhaps it's the 1.01 patch that has the sf, not the dl version.

are you sure you just patched with 1.02? if not, uninstall and reinstall and patch with just 1.02.

i bought and downloaded arma yesterday from sprocket. no problems. i did get confused with the activation - i kept trying to put my reference number in the new license when it goes in the existing license section. it's working fine now. my question: is there a FAQ or HOWTO on the controls? no manual came with the download - not even a czech one (like that would have done me any good anyway <g>). i didn't play ofp so all the keys are somewhat daunting. p.s. sprocket - could you plz put up an english manual for download when that gets done?
