    Operation FacePlant US Infantry v1.00

cameron, you need a new mich, those just look like ass. Â here is what the latest version looks like. Â i believe either lasers air force para rescue, or TQP has a nice looking mich. Â bulkier isnt always better, this is me, minus the IBA. Â also, the knee and elbow pads have been changed, they are no longer tan, they are ACU, as the picture(s) show. If you need actual reference pictures, and will actually use them i'll take some, just let me know of what. all of what i'm wearing, even the hatch operator gloves are standard issue, as well as the wiley X sunglasses, we use those instead of the huge goggles. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b72/olemiss623/Picture042.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b72/olemiss623/Picture031.jpg

What do you *HOPE* will be in ArmA modding?

hell no a sight doesnt make noise when you move change the magnification. plus, sights us infantry us generally dont zoom in and out, the CCO has no magnification, and the ACOG is at 4X...

    Scope VIEW (improved)

Re-read it, without closing one eye using iron sights, one cant properly align the front sight post, and wont have the correct sight picture. With a CCO the sight post has nothing to do with shooting, except for when you bore-sight it
  6. olemissrebel

    Scope VIEW (improved)

yes, but you are instructed, as least as us infantry, from basic training its generally best with two eyes opened

    Scope VIEW (improved)

they should still be superior in game as well, as in real life iron sights require one eye closed, CCO requires both eyes open

the canteens are way too low, they aren't attached to the molle gear in the pictures. Â SF aren't part of the mechanized 1st Armored Division, and the flag and unit patch are facing the wrong way. and no, you wear knee-bows (knee and elbow pads) on the outside of the uniform, how the hell are you gonna pull them up when they slide down or go from side to side? however, there are velcro things where you can insert them. you could add grass stains as well as dirt, they get grass stains very easily, it washes out, but it would sitll be there on those soldiers, as ill bet they have more important things to do than wash their ACUs with CWC going on

    Scope VIEW (improved)

no, they are just regular joe m68 CCOs, no zoom whatsoever.

    OFP Modern Combat Mod

light infantry are armed with m4, not m4a1, there's a pretty big difference, as one is burst and one is automatic... mechanized infantry generally still use the m16a4. Â tank crews are armed with an m4.

Even though they won't change them ...next time, try telling them how they can IMPROVE their shoulders, not just that you don't like them. that's not doing anyone any good, now is it?

Seeing as you obviously know everything there is to know about my army, my uniform working or not, and all of these other patterns, do tell me why the US Army chose the ACU over MarPat (which was originally developed for the army, and changed to marines) and multicam?

    OFP Modern Combat Mod

us infantry dont use the m4a1... and crews def. dont use mp5s...

I'm in total agreement with this, the ACU pattern does not work in woodland. The army claims it to be universal but, it is hardly that. The only places where the ACU pattern works is in urban, rocky, sandy areas. All the army personel I've seen walking around in them stand out like a sore thumb in front of any green vegitation. If you ask me, I think the marines have it down. Well, I suppose it's good no one asked you. ACU works fine for me, in real life, and in flashpoint, because afterall, is it really that hard to tell an OFP charachter wearing ACU or desert or bright orange, the ground is barren...it's really not that big of a deal

    Tonal Update

It's highly unlikely that tonal could really afford those aircraft, and even more unlikely that they would be performing Air Assault missions...not to mention dangerous for a ill-trained, and ill-equipped army, nevertheless, it looks awesome!

At any given unit, a soldier is issued his basic gear, an IBA, etc. Â it depends on how much funding the unit has whether or not he gets nice, new equipment. a friend of mine is in the 173rd AB brigade and italy, and was issued an LCE and ALICE gear, so dont think because you see it in a few pictures that everyone has nice, new ACU gear. Â Sometimes the soldier pays and purchases the gear he likes. Â if he wants to put it directly on the molle straps on the IBA, he can. If he wants to put it on a vest, he can. Â The SOPs are different wherever you go, but in country, no one really gives a damn where your gear is, so don't tell him to look at lasers for reference, because in real life it just depends on the person. Â And just for future reference in this topic and most others, I and a few others who actually wear the 'Interceptor', unlike most of you, don't call it that, it's known and called the IBA. Frostbite is correct in the grenade pouches, they could technically be mounted, but they would be in groups of three or so, and to be mounted that way, they would be on a vest that goes over the IBA

Actually many soldiers in korea are wearing the ACUs, if they recently joined, ie, october 05' to present, they will only have ACUs, plus, if you still have BDUs, why not wear them out instead of getting your new ACUs dirty. They have all been issued ACUs, and if not, they could just buy them a the PX!

what the hell are you smoking? if it was such a crap pattern, would the most technically advaned, and arguably the best army on earth adopt it as their official pattern? i think not. just because you think it looks tacky doesnt mean its crap in combat

What's up with that patch...that HAS to go. Â Plus, this is ffur2006. Â if any US units were deployed to a hotspot, they'd be issued the latest gear, if they hadn't been already, ie, ACU. There's really no need for all of this woodland camo, even if it is nice to look at. Â It's just not 2006. Â I was issued ACUs in October '05. & why not use the mich thats in (i believe) TQP SF, the padded back of the helmet on that one looks very realistic. perhaps its lasers air force para rescues?
