Hi oldbear, Thanks for the info. It appears the manufacturer can only supply 3000 MHz as the fastest speed for a laptop. Which would you recommend? - 16GB DDR4 3000MHZ (1x16GB) - 32GB DDR4 3000MHZ (2x16GB) The next lowest speed is 2666 MHz. Also does the size of the SSD effect stuttering? The option I've selected is: - 660P Series 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD I think I'll go for the NVIDIA 1070 simply for future proofing. Thanks once again. -

Hi everyone, Thanks for a huge amount of information on this thread. I've been playing since Op Flash, I'm just not savvy with computer technical jargon so please do excuse my lack of understanding. I'm in the process of buying a new laptop for my Arma 3 mission making. I usually like to play on Ultra settings with increased view distance and LARGE amounts of AI on the map. Usually I play these sandbox scenarios in single player then advance them into multiplayer with a few mates. I don't have the time or knowledge to include scripts in my missions to help reduce clutter. So I end up simply putting up with low FPS and a fully populated island full of modded units. I'm looking at upgrading my laptop to cater for my large sandbox style missions and also to prepare for Mechwarrior 5's arrival in September. I'd be very grateful if anyone would be willing to find the Arma 3 bottlenecks with the following specs. Windows 10 Intel Hexa Core i7-8750H NVIDIA GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 Max-Q 15.6" FHD 1920 x 1080 WVA Matte 144Hz LED 16GB DDR4 2666MHZ (1 x 16GB) 660P Series 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD No Hard Drive Selected Killer 1550 AC Low Latency WIFI/BT Optional changes the company is offering: - NVIDIA 1080 (Large increase in cost) - 16GB DDR4 2400MHZ (2 x 8GB) Thanks for your time very appreciated. -

Hi all, I'm a long time Arma fan, started playing when Opflash first came out. I'm having some issues with a mission I've made and was hoping someone might be able to lend some advice. I've created a mission using the editor, exported it to scenarios. It's a bleed tickets scenario with AI spawn modules and areas set up to capture. 1st issue: I'm unable to save the game. In the menu "Save" is grayed out. I've checked the difficulty settings and unlimited saves is on. Whenever I create a different mission and export it to scenarios, I can save it. However every time I add a bleed tickets scenario I cant save it? How does one get around this issue? 2nd issue: I have 999 set as the bleed tickets to count down, when I start the mission I can see how many tickets Bluefor, Opfor and Independent have. However as soon as I team switch or die and team switch, the tickets remaining boxes simply disappear, leaving the player to continue with absolutely no idea how many tickets are remaining. The mission is still continuing but no tickets are displayed, why does the initial player character only see this? I appreciate any help you might be able to provide! Thank you

I'm trying to create a game where you start at the airfield, with the units I place in the editor, but the island is fully random populated with enemy. I have heli transport and artillery as supporters. A squad of about 30. The key being AI placement is random, that way no two engagements are the same. There could be say 5 or 7 objectives across the whole island. looking to set it up as a game that's savable and can run for a very long time. Right now I'm using about 80 random AI per team. So 240 players in total and the mission covers all of the island of Stratis. In this mission teams fight over natural features like mountain ridges etc as well. The biggest things are: - Randomly generating AI continuously and having them carry out actions, Infantry, tanks and aircraft. (If infantry would occupy buildings the game would triple in realism!) - Being savable and long lasting, I only often have time for a 30 minute game and it would be great to run it like a mini campaign

Thanks dreadpirate I just had a go at that. It seems on a lan game, the save option is still grayed out. Is there a way to adjust "enablesaving [false,false];" That might solve everything.

description.ext file problem, quick answer if ok

I have a mission that contains a "description.ext" file, and i need to add another description.ext file into the same folder, it's asking me to replace it, but obviously that will cause problems..any ideas? I know that i can open them both with notepad, do i just cut and paste the text from one onto the bottom of the existing one? -

Does anybody know if it is possible to in any way to open up the official ArmA single player and campagin missions in the editor and take components of them for my own custom missions to play in singlplayer.. Or if anybody knows of a similar reference, just to save time every time building a fully dug in city! I remember doing this with Op Flash so I presume it's also possible in ArmA thanks

is there currently any insurgent addons like the ones in the IMWM screenshots that are out? ive only seen two so far, 1 on the VBS2 website, and 2 here on the IMWM, neither are avaliable to the public, so does anyone know of any other options? please dont say the standard civilians in arma with weapons, because they look stupid in the bright green and pink. also why cant someone just copy all the stuff from VBS2, its exactly what arma should have been! why doesnt VBS2 release its product to the open public and theyll make so much more money?

hey, im making a mission in which my player starts with a Javelin launcher, in the mission editor i added this command into my units init. line. ( this addweapon "JAVELIN" ; this addmagazine "JAVELIN" ) when i play in the editor its all fine etc, but when i then "export" the mission to multiplayer, go online and play with a friend, i start with the Javelin but with no ammo for it? and this is very frustrating given theres no god damn crate in arma that holds ammo for a Javelin, can someone understand this problem? also does anyone know the command to place certain types of grenades or ammo in crates? .... yes i have checked the website

can someone help just need a real quick answer, ive got the unit set position for stand up and prone, but i need the one for crouch. for example : up = {_x setunitpos "up"} foreach thislist  down = {_x setunitpos "down"} foreach thislist  crouch ? thanks

Just wanted to hear some people’s opinions, I’m currently running the Xtreme ArmA Mod latest version 1.4, and find it excellent, but there are alot of bugs...however i can sort of tolerate this... I’ve never tried the 6th sense ArmA mod but it seems to but updated quite regularly on the armaholic website so it must have alot of work put into it, I wanted to ask people who may have tried them both which are better... For me "better" means extreme realism, and great sounds!

ok ill start downloading now then, is it true that its all original sounds? if thats the case ill have to find a sound pack, i dont like chammys or FDF, i like select weapons from each, but XAM comes with an array of sounds i enjoy the most, maybe i could just look at getting a few of the XAM sounds, for example, M4, M16, AK47, but i wouldnt know where to start!
