  1. Well, yeah it seems to be a challange, but it seems to show some profits: -Easier integration of Bump- and Specmaps / RVMATs / Damage -Easier texture changes -Closer to BI-standard models -It seems to have an impact on performance, as Synide stated And it can be performed in steps. Might be a good idea, when someone starts to merge the bigger outside surfaces for the first 2 profits. Unitil now, I have only tested it on the ArmA-Bike as a little example. ArmA bike WIP pre alpha 2, while TBird completed the AAVP7.
  2. Thanks Miles, I actually chose the Mk2 because it includes not so many features as implemented in the alternative MBT's. I plan to focus on: -Proxy conversion, so that the OFP proxies do not need to be moved, when using the ArmA-counterparts -Texture merging, followed by bump- and specmaps -Optional new model.cfg animations, so that only minor renaming is needed for conversion. I plan to check this while I change my ISP. So it might take some time to bet back online again. I will send you a DL-link, when I have someting to upload. BR, mike
  3. I checked the Merkavas yesterday. Any interest on the Merkava 2, because I personally favour this model. I you have no interrest an the 2-Version, may I get in contact with the person who gave you the permission for the 4-version? Thanks and Best Regards, mike

    T-90 & T-72BM by Ike

I'll try but wont promise anything. Well, I tried some time ago. You may notice NWD's modifications to the model, when comparing the FCS tanks with the BI-sample model. I was unable to reengineer the needed changes, so I removed the whole project from my rig.

    Tank Fire Control Systems

They look like the standard, but are indeed modified versions made my NWD. You have to transfer the changes to the mod-tanks for private use only. NWD has retired and no one checked for permission, yet... or even was able to reengineer the needed changes Ups, sorry mrcash2009... seems that I answered too fast
  6. You may check for a seemed addon in the samples BI provided. This way you will also be able to locate the different entrys in the memoryLOD plus the matching config.cpp and model.cfg from BI's original. OFP addon's lack the shadowLOD and materials RVMAT's. Best to use some modified content from the BI samples. Also merging the textures is a good way to start adding bumpmaps and specular maps. Next check for proper animations for the crew, when it is a vehicle. Those differ from the OFP ones, so proxies must be replaced. have fun, mike

    T-90 & T-72BM by Ike

At least PSC's BTR-A includes the scripts: OFP.info link But i recon that i have seen shell ejection in SLX mod and another package also creates the shells... So I decided to leave this to the other mod-makers Anyway... it can be included in a replacment config later and for every tank by using PSC's functions. BR, mike :edit: @binary: OK, now it is clear to me Should be do-able
  8. Hi all, now to somethin completely different I checked the OFP content for a suitable counterpart to the T-90's acutally released. I located Bizaroide's Merkava, because I think that a M1A2 is already on the way by ACE, while Mateck (hopfully) will release his new M1A1 HA in the near future. I will check the OFP Merkava for an ArmA conversion (mainly for private use) and just want to ask you weather Elbe plans to perform the same or if you create a Merkava on your own. Because of permission for Bizaroide's tank will take some time, a possible public release is unknown. BR, mike

    T-90 & T-72BM by Ike

@binary: What about the alternative to have a driver hatch? It is already included in the BI-sample model and I have a T-72 WIP, where the needed config / proxy can simply be adapted to any other model? According to the gunner optics... may some1 post a pic what he wants? Else the result may be not what you have in mind.. @NSXr: I already noticed such a turret in the KMDB pages but the blueprints are rather unusable, because of the fine structures. A first release would look rather ugly.. I think that is why no one released such a turret yet. @Rakgitarmen: Everybody would be happy if there would e a "easy script". Something that comes pretty close would be Mr.Peanut's binoLOS, although the script doesnot detect the objects, just the position on the ground the gunner is actually looking at. May be you can improve it this way

Ah, now I got it nevertheless, someone had to do this job. Credits to Rellikki and you i0n0s mike

Great Job i0n0s, I know how hard it is to retext all those units Best Regards, mike

    Tv guided System

Well... I regard the switch to the view should only be performed local on the gunner's client. No need to perform it on the server and other clients. Those will only get the actual position / direction and velocity of the missile. This should be rather MP-friendly, because most of the routines are only active on the gunners rig when TV is active. I have checked the actual crCTI mission for those sqf scripts, may be you find good script examples there.
  13. Hi @all, Is someone planing a texture-merge for this beauty? How to fix / merge... This way, we could add normal maps and retextures would be a lot easier mike

    T-90 & T-72BM by Ike

Not sure, i personally don't care about em and I would have to add another evenhandler(already uses 3 different). Good Job Well, when you have based this tank on the latest version of the ERA-style, numbers and side flag may be added via the init-command of the unit in the mission.sqm. Also those texture manipulations can be added to the init eventhandler using an additional config like I have added to the badger T-90 version. No need to modify this addon. Best Regards, mike

    T-90 MBT

@popcorn: The TankFCS is pretty complex and no one has a clue about how to integrate an alternative tank into this system. Unfortunately NWD retired from modding, but has not given any permission to reuse / modify his excellent addon According to the rulez, the FCS is blocked for any of us and can only be modified for private use, so expect no release.... @binary: One of the aspects of the T-72 ERA "style" project was to create a stronger opponent for Mateck's M1A1 HA. Mateck's next release contains OPFOR tanks, so Mateck provides counterparts, too :edit: Got confused yesterday evening... I have not verified yet, weather this addon requires xeh...
  16. modemmaik

    Vilas' addons

The idea is nice.. . realy But the only way to integrate wide range missile artillery atm is to use mando's missile suite. This way, the result would need both addons, but it would be sweet

    T-90 MBT

Tweaking? Well when I have some minutes in spare.. yes Actually I plan to create some kind of replacement config including all Infantry and adding a weaker MBT for the BLUFOR (smth like a M1 Abrams) and a stronger for OPFOR (let's guess.... yeah it is your T-90). This way we need only minor modifications for crCTI and warfare adaptions. So you see... the T-90 is not out of duty BR, mike

    Vilas' addons

That Dshkm with wheels on... is my favourite Nice work vilas
  19. Just another suggestion: This plane is nice and easy to mod. A very good starting point for someone who want to start modding. Elbe converted it to ArmA, so everybody can join to make it even more ugly in ArmA Requests for someone else OFP addon's implies check for permissions. Also, I think that Gnat already started to convert Footmunchs addons.
  20. The Su-25 model in included in the Oxygen samples for OFP... So I would assume southy's addon is OK from the view of the license. Well done Southy I think that someone else can add the missing animations using the BI sample configs cheers, mike

    T-90 MBT

Well done, Badger And yes, custom textures and numbers can be added using an extended config or replacement config, so no change to the addon's config needed for this (the actual config includes all sections needed and can be used without xeh). Also alternative number textures can be included in the additional config. Those can be user-repainted to match the custom textures. have fun, mike

    T-90 MBT

I once released a ERA-style "blueprint" version to generate user-defined versions without interference each other: DL-Link zShare custom retex version But the link includes the old basic variants, which must be replaced with the new T-90 model. This way, it will be possible to use all variants at the same time. The custom texture feature codes can be removed, because it can be added later, using a replecement config. mike :edit: I am a bit occupied at the moment and I will be offline for some weeks at the end of the month (ISP change), so I would suggest that someone else includes the needed changes (Badger?).

    T-90 MBT

Thanks mate, that is what the ERA-"style" was build for I hope that Sigma-6 reads the dedication. I noticed that the gunner's machinegun fires from the maingun (I count this as a minor issue), while the BI-style fires from the machinegun position. Strage effect, because I was unable to locate the source for this issue. If you want to, I may generate a binarized version of the latest T-90 models, so a signature will be available and no more messages will pop up in the RPT-file So far, excellent work Badger have fun, mike

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

I know that an OFP addon is rather unusable in ArmA, but some WWII addons exist for OFP (e.g. the Ju-52) Before running into trobles that were already solved, it might be a good idea to contact the OFP-developers (when they are still active) and request for a MLOD. Most of the OFP addons also include scipts and good sound samples, which might get reused with the developers permission.

    31st Normandy mod -WW2

A squaddy of mine suggested we slow down the tank rounds, add tracers to see their effects. As you know in RO you can see them and they make a huge "clang" sound when they express a deflection hit. It's a thought that has crossed my mind. So it's something we will look at. Very good I think I noticed such a request for muzzleVelocity modification somewhere here in the forum. Now I know, why Keep up your good work mike @MehMan: Tanks for the info. I have not noticed this ammo option, yet
