I had the same problem (got 1.29 before ) and uninstall+install did not seem to work -still crashed.
But today i got it working.So here is what i did:
i uninstalled OPF, renamed the Directory where opf was installed.
Then i startet regedit and deleted
hkey_users/.DEFAULT/Software/codemasters
Then rebootet.
Then installed patch 1.20 (NOT ultimate upgrade 1 or something else -you dont need it !!!!)
Then rebooztet again,
installed patch 1.30 and-guess what - rebootet again.
after that all my problems were gone.
it seems that not rebooiting after uninstall/every patch or install of ultimate upgrade1 befor patch 1.20 and/or not deleting the reg_key causes the crash when using lasertargeting/-bombs ...
didi it work for U ??? - I hope so .
