Was the campain even bug tested?

I've been a BI fan since the early days of OFP also, and I have been checking the shops, following every U.S. "release" date that has came and went, and now I'm waiting for July 20th to come along and see if the game actually appears. However, in light of your comments, I'm not going to be as excited or eagerly awaiting its arrival. I may just hold off for a while. Maybe let the price drop down a bit, pick it up in the bargain bin, and then pay to be a beta tester.. I think community support has dropped off since OFP. This kind of customer mistreatment could just kill the franchise.

    Linux Dedicated server

They borrowed so many different "touches" from Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter that perhaps they are now trying to keep up with GRAW, for now we have GRAW 2, and here comes...ArmA 2... I hope it doesnt work out that way..that they abandon ArmA 1, in favor of the latest, greatest pretty shiny object..ArmA 2..It does seem like there are "issues" still on the plate to be dealt with before we go jumping to ArmA 2. I love these games, I've had many, many long hours playing OFP, but I'm very dissappointed in this ArmA 2 release...I feel a bit screwed over..Thank you for your $40 for ArmA 1, but here is the game we really meant to put out...that will be $60 this time, thank you...and could you please bend over..thank you... I'm getting so disgusted with the whole thing, I don't even care if they put out a linux server anymore..who cares what we think...they wrote the software, but WE made the game what it has become..I'll just keep on playing the old, outdated, system resource hog, Operation Flashpoint..until I upgrade to a version of windows that wont let me play it anymore..and then I'll just have to play it on my old, outdated xbox...sniff..sniff.. Linux Dedicated server

I read that some people believe that the announcement of ArmA 2 could possibly affect the work being done on a linux version of the Arma server. I too, am fearful, fearful overall that the release of ArmA 2 could affect the whole franchise. Things are moving a bit slowly in the ArmA world compared to the addons, missions, islands, etc..that were constantly popping up for Operation Flashpoint. Sure they are coming out..slowly, but how much work is going to start or even continue in the face of uncertainty. Unless the addon structure (ie models, scripts, missions, etc..) in ArmA 2 is going to be identical to the existing ArmA, or BIS releases some sort of conversion tool..this release announcement spells trouble to me... This just sounds way, way too soon to me, to be talking a sequel to a game thats only been out a few months here in the U.S. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe BIS isn't just trying to milk their loyal fans for all their worth. Perhaps they are just trying to make it up to us..it took sooo friggin long for a flashpoint sequel to arrive..they want to keep them coming fast and furious. Personally, I dont want to see my beloved flashpoint becoming the next Tiger Woods or Madden game...with ArmA 2008, ArmA 2009, ArmA 2010...buying a new version every six months so we can help them beta test their software. Why has it taken this !@#$ long for a linux server to be made available? ArmA looks beautiful, but until I can setup the server in linux, my friends and I can't play together. How do we solve this? We play good ole' flashpoint. Maybe this is why things arent moving along very quickly in the addon scene, everyone else is too busy playing the original game as well... C'mon BIS, give us some more details about what your plans are, and give us a Linux server. If I buy any future versions of Operation Flashpoint/ArmA/Combat Nausea/Whatever its called now...I'll make !@#$ sure there is a linux server available before I shell out my hard earned money. Peace!
