One small thing, flags on the U.S. soldiers,sailors,airmen, coast guard, reserves/guard and Marines always will be point rearward(As in the blue/with stars forward) on the right shoulder. Few questions.. Two full clips of 5.56mm from a BAS Ranger to down a Crimson guard at close range. Joes and Cobras both actually. So trooper "hit point" or "armor" a little up there? H.I.S.S. tank is in the GI Joe section for the editor. Both of these items I ran into from downloading the new mirrored link, Original ModV1.0 and then the patch made. Also scored some P3d errors on the original island load up. cbriobjectgra\ cbrigrass.p3d And then on the new multi base island from Ice, c7_bridge\ c7_bridge3.p3d Both islands are great, the orginal large island is a wonderfull rendition of the comic book island from the Cobra civil war, and the joecobra island feels just like I steped into issue one. Everyone does look like the comic book. Faces are tough to recognize but the obvious uniforms can be ID'ed a mile away. Are you sticking to using only the comic faces or possibly going to OFP style faces? and did I catch Flint mocking me as I shot at him? Swear I heard him calling out some cartoon lines..

I downloaded you island regardless of not having everything just to see it's layout and cruise threw the air looking over everything. Tough without having everything to get a feel for it but I am impressed with your layouts and progress. Any thoughts on Desto's Iron Grenadiers to bring a three-way fight to the battlefield? I wish I knew even a little about making soldiers for OFP....I have always wanted to make a cobra army with east style weapons, all black with the blood red cobra insignia on the chest. Similar too how Devil Due has them depicted in the new comics.

The twins had EE buildings all over. They sprung up in about every major city Cobra was operating in. New York the major one. Seem to remember it being taken out by Joe's because they found it to be a major Cobra base..

This is a cool idea. I hope this MOD continues to completion. I've got a GI Joe collection that would make a whole school of kids stay occupied for months. Plus just about every comic book produced from the 80's on... my only problem is getting around trying to download the original GI Joe Mod beta1 from ofp.info. seems I'm computer stupid trying to get it to work. I've been making my own Cobra Island (wrptool)based of the Cobra island from the comic book. Accurate in size to the map that was supplied in the comic book during the Cobra civil war where Destro introduced his Iron Grenadiers and gave CC and Serpentor a arse kicking. Also making two large mainland islands around it for battles. But again....computer stupid so it has taken time. Be downloading and playing this one as it goes... If you need any info, historical references or anything GI Joe related as I said, all the comics, and also the DVD collections of the tv show, so I can answer questions atleast one last thing, have you built the Terror Drome yet?

Nicolas, This is only a observation of mine after playing threw AA many times and playing it to my glorious death a few dozen times. Your description doesn't sound like a bug at all, but normal mission occurances. ThoBson's use of fog and his scripting makes every attempt at this mission a new experience. Going from Vigny to the hunting lodge where you'll meet up with civilians can result in instant death from a variety of ways. My first attempts in beta testing it took over a dozen tries to get there. Because I didn't take the mindset that I am always in someone's crosshairs, must always stay alert, and use the info given by cutscenes and notes to my advantage. Your route may take you into the path of either side, your speed getting there may alert someone. Jump in the jeep, and someone may be close enough to see that,or hear it. Aside from that, your travel time is to be expected. I once spent 6 hours of game time on foot noting patrol routes, enemy strength and time during those patrols. Using the soldiers that joined me I placed them in safe OP's and myself in different locals and figured out when to hit where. If your travel time is to long my suggestion is the motorcycle at the lodge, fuel it up, go solo, and be ready to boogy when hell comes down my first successfull playthrew amounted to 30+ hours of realtime play.

Well, for me this is fine. I've yet to buy a PC game that has keep my interest as much as OFP has. Most keep me happy for a month or two, then I'm back to OFP jamming mags and pissing and moaning trying to find that last elusive Russian troop that seems to keep most missions from ending. I've been out of the loop here for years, but still playing OFP religously. With a PC that is older than dirt and slower than a turtle this gives me plenty of time to save up for a killer system. Nice to say hi again, now it's back to banging my head against a wall downloading addons with 56K since that's all I can get out in the middle of the woods. Maybe by 06 I'll have the house built and have DSL.......ya, and hell will freeze over.

well geeze, lets see if this gets the point across. My present plight I am in is a terrible one. You see I am sitting here reading the forums and I need to scratch the twins, hey they itch. But something terrible happened, I cut the left one open. How did I cut the left one open you ask? I just got done trimming my nails with a ACME nail tirmmer, I did'nt see a warning label or instructions telling me that if I trim them in a pointed fashion that my nuts may be dammaged if I scratch to hard. Damn there bleeding good right now, I better call a lawyer, freaking nail clippers, its all there fault!!! It's a ridulucous effort to make big business subsidize peoples lack of resposibility for thier own actions. Smokers now must pay a huge amount for cigarettes because of the lawsuits against big tobbaco. 90 Billion dollars if my number is right, was the amount paid to th federal goverment and also to those named in lawsuits. Now, do you really think that big business is going to roll over and play dead? No they're just going to up the price on the next pack. Will the feds be happy, yup, cause they can up the taxes on that pack also and put more money towards suing the tobaco industry. Confussed yet? I am. This is the rought' that is being taken with the fattys. Sorry to offend anyone but if you sue cause you don't know how to eat properly your just a fatty in my mind. The goverment will get on the wagon, sue everyone silly, the big business will up the prices to compensate for the lose of profit. Yes first season, Scott was a pissy pants threw the whole ordeal, and it cost him in my opinion. Nice to see Rudy, the guy who played in the very first survivor get to show his stuff. In my opinion SWAT guys have the advantage because they are using thier training every day of the week, serving warrants, survielance of possible suspects. Where the military boys get trained and trained and trained. Then wait and wait and wait for the time to strike, not very often we have conflicts where SEALS are used everyday, but SWAT officers its a daily ordeal. Physically the Military guys are better off, but experience wise I think SWATs got em beat.

Is this the second season? Or has the first season only now made it overseas? If it's the second then YEEha, loved that show, the first season was great, I won't spoil who won, but it was worth it to follow.

Congrats to your first outing, sounds like you did quite well. I just stumbled on to the thread so I could'nt put in my 2 cents worth before you left. But it does'nt sound like you needed it. I am assuming your hooked now, I know I was after my first outing. That was 15 years ago......I now have to much stuff in the basement and to many stories to tell.

I'd give myself a 50% chance of survival, cause theres only two things that are going to happen to me, I am gonna make it or die. To many variables to know what the real chances are. Friendly fragging, schrapnel, stepping on a mine, or the stray bullet just plain laying you on your back. Have you,or anyone here, ever had a real bullet pass by you, I have, not in any form of combat. I was hunting whitetail deer on our property, we had just completed a drive of a creek bottom to push deer to standers. The drive was completed, I was standing in the middle of a open field, with bright blaze orange on. Then I heard a gun start unloading, I watched as a small doe jumped the property fence and was running in my general direction. That's when I saw a blaze orange dot about 200 meters away in a open field on the nieghboring property, and thats when I realized the bullets where traveling in my general direction, needless to say I could here them pass my head and saw one hit the ground about 25 meters in front of me. I never laid on the ground so flat in all my life. I did'nt get up for about 5 minutes after the shooting ended. I only got up because I heard my father and brothers start chewing ass on the guy who had shot in my general direction. The shooter high tailed it out of sight. I finally got up and walked back to the truck. Put my gun in the case, dropped the tailgate and proceded to get drunk as shit.(Up till that point I had not had one drop, I do not hunt and drink, too dangerous.) I have never in my life been so scared, I was shaking so bad I could hardly lift a beer to my mouth. All I can say is, I hope to god I never have another bullet pass my general direction. I did find out a few weeks later who the shooter was, that is a different story all by itself. I will say he has stayed very far away from me since our little chat.

1. Civilian Police officers and officers in police jeeps cannot cause a end mission when useing a trigger. 2. Jumping off roof of building 8 stories high causes a bum knee at most, you can still walk around. 8 stories would be instant death in most cases, at best you'd live with out being able to walk. 3. And as everyone stated, AI won't cross bridge.

Hawkeye is on the money, great way to do it, different than me, I just bum rushed em with a HK and took down everyone in about 10 seconds, pure luck, first try, think one hostage took a round, he was a little red and slow running away. Then I stole a truck, meet up with my buds, hauled ass to the next base. Snuck in on the west side using cover. Set my ambush up in a "L" formation to funnel russkies into the open. Snuck in as far as I could and inetaited the ambush. When the smoke cleared I moved the vehicles that where there to the rear of the base, set up another ambush for the attacking armor, cleared the area and rolled home with a butt load of equipment. Took along time, be ready to try a couple of times to get threw the ambush with your whole team. But the rewards where plenty of weapons for future missions.

I'm only 3/4ths threw right now so I ca'nt completely comment on the expansion but up to this point I think the story is great Course I am from the US(those imperialists you refer too ) and in my opinion that was the direction the story was to lean too, Western power defeating the Communist power. Remember, this is based back at the height of the cold war, West vs. East, good vs. evil (depending on where your from) and the Resistance over comming the attacking army. Hey back in the 80's they were refered to as Resistance fighters. Terrorists where still considered nut cases that took over planes and always lost. (wait, that still applys). So alot of your assesments, which where good points of arguement, can be interpreted differently. Gastowski and his "unofficial status". That happens in the real world alot more than both of us will ever know, which is just fine with me. It was a act of war, during a tense time period, so alot of countrys would turn a blind eye towards it, just to aviod getting their hands dirty in the public eye. So the US plays in the shadows for a time, just like they did in that little thing we refer to as the Iran/Contra deal back in Reagans days. As for Guba getting promoted, even after he gets his ass handed to him and commits those acts of evil towards the civilians. If he can present a case that smells like roses to his higher ups that he did good then they may buy it. Or they thought he was such a idiot they might as well keep him away from the mother land and stick him on these small unknown islands no one really cares about. Just makes the story good the way they play it out. Considering todays politics, which are much different than the 80's, hey US and Russia are buds danm near, the possibilty of a future OFP where the US and Russia fight side by side against some evil power that needs to be defeated would be a cool game. Hell I allready have missions and campaigns made where they fight side by side, defeating some evil power that is the resistance forces. Just some silly Americans comments, do with them as you wish.

Desperation, bad economy, country on the brink of major problems,a little pissed/jealous at your neighbors, and throw in crazy you basically have the start of 90% of the conflicts that we've seen in the last 50 years. Desperate people do desperate things to get out of the hole thier in. Would'nt surprise me even if Moroccos who are out gunned and manned escalates this, some people don't know when thier beat.

Ya, I was running threw the woods in the 2nd mission, came upon a cabin in the woods, first thought was "wheres Ted", then I heard the crack of a ak-47 and knew it was time to boogy for cover. Oh and when you ram a UAZ with a Ural and your looking threw the windshield, you can see the guys do a header into the windshield of the UAZ and die a painfull death. Buckle up you dumbass's or kiss glass And those shotguns, you could'nt kill a mosquito with those POS's

If it's ok I want to jump in here with a thought. One thing I've learned over the years is anytime someone starts to piss in someone elses Cheerios there is ussually a date in history that coincides with the pissing In 1936 some dude,Calvo Sotelo, I think he was to be the future leader of Spain, was assasinated on July 12th. Then on July 17 there was one hell of a uprising in Morocco, followed by civil unrest in Spain on July18th. Hopefully someone with a better knowledge of history in spain can fill in these blanks for me. So it looks to be a timed event, something has been pissing the Moroccans off and they choose this date to start getting it on. Remember those that don't remember history are doomed to repeat it.
