Thanks for that link, great read. You can see some of those previous ideas and issues are still being used and fought with Arma. I can understand better why a publisher has'nt been found with the history of not finding one that suits BIS. It is nice to see they want a publisher that won't take over the game, and make it something different. You can hope Arma comes out sooner than OFP did when compared to development time needed. Nice to see they look at the things that went wrong, and understand them hoping to improve on them.

Wow, thanks for everyone mentioning how old they where at the time. Now I feel old..17 at the time and can remember reading about it and watching it on TV at school. Congrats on the anniversary and the refresher on the history.

I went back threw all my AGS downloads looking for where i missed it, then released I have never seen it, then released you never said it was out, then released I was a tool for looking for it when it wasn't out I am looking forward to the release. It will fit very well in my island I am making. Thanks

are those two lane highways/streets released anywhere or are they of your design and not released yet? I only ask because I would love to use them, and the US style buildings.. edit...I finally caught the agent smith released the roads 3 years ago part. I guess I am just braindead trying to find them.

So if soccer(sorry, I'm a yank) is in the game. Does this mean the violence in the stands will finally be protrayed correctly? Red card comes out, fans go wild with Molotov's and storm the field. You mission, get to safety at the nearest bar. sorry, couldn't resist. But it could make for some interesting missions. Guarding a soccer match. Keeping the fans calm. Then finding the terrorist/badguy/thug armed with a bomb and dragging him out by his hair. Or...Two squads have a grudge match, then half way threw the game one of their members pulls a AK and sprays the field. Or their sniper starts poping guys from 500 meters. Then everyone runs for their weapons and it turns into a gun battle again, sorry, couldn't resist.

It sure feels like the game is coming soon. Summer vacation must have recharged the crew at IDEA/BIS. I'm sure they would like it boxed and shipped so as to get on track with Game2. I hope for a early fall release

Wow, very impressive and I like your idea of "naked" islands that people can adjust or build to their liking. I'll keep an eye on your work and if one falls into the style I am trying to use for my island I may transfer or convert what I've done to yours....if you don't mind Great work.

What, as a rough guess, is the percentage of completion of Armed Assault right now? 75.1% My OPINION is they must be all but finished, dealing with possible publishers and getting ready for a marketing campaign of some sort. Nice long vacations, refreshed and hopefully not holding on for the big Christmas sales time. Heck, release it right before the school year starts so college and high school kids around the world can't focus on the school work. Us old married farts will just call in sick

Your missing his point. Publishers looking at ArmA would possibly prefer the BF2 route. Continued expansions to make uber money. BIS hopefully prefers the OFP route for ArmA. Expansions, but then allowing the community to mod the living hell out of it and they are free to use.

In my experiences the game(it is a game, not just a mission) can do weird things unless you run just V1.96 and no Mods. Make sure that is what your using. Hope it helps

Yes Like I said, I love it. Your answer creates more questions If it's visible, am I waiting in ambush for it to pass me? Am I already "eyes on target"?Am I trying to catch up to it as it has all ready passed? And I still have to worry about escaping. Oh the insanity/joy/love of one picture. I'm still happy with my choice, so I post only to hopefully mess with everyone's minds as they go to choose, and maybe help someone choose. Good luck to everyone.

EDIT because of post just before mine. I've made mine, still feel comfortable with it even with the Hi res pic, although...from the link page. is a little different than so my mind wanders, am I attacking something on the screen that is all ready visible? Am I waiting in ambush for something coming? Do I all ready see my target/targets or am I anticipating them? How does that effect my escape route? Even though some routes seem better, how do I know what is beyond the screen shot? I love it

Ok, there are enough on now. Everyone push away from the PC, step outside and yell "PLACEBO"...If you here someone else yell it, you have a new friend to go chat with while you wait.

Regardless of what it is, BIS and Placebo have with just a few key strokes made us all stand up and pay attention very easily. Which isn't a knock on them at all. They are sure to know how anxious the community is. I'm just glad that they do give the info they have considering they could just be concentrating on the games progress. The info released is like a fine bottle of scotch, and they just want us to sip and savor it, not slam the whole thing and puke our guts out. and congrats to you Placebo on your upcoming marriage. May you both live a long and wonderfull life together. (see guys, you gotta have your lips on their butts instead of whining for stuff)

Maybe it is delayed right now because they are waiting for us Yanks to crawl out of bed and enjoy the surprise with all of the European community. 6 am my time right now. I'll have to make a call and double check but I believe they still have the old woodlands on the ramps at 29palms. 'Course, that's on the ramps, where they are wrenching. I only know this from a family member currently serving. And that was a few months ago when I got the last pic, so just as you described, they may be phased out and he never mentioned that in the last call.
