  1. shadow flickering? LOL

just realize, that shadow is just a bitmap mapped into the ground and other objects, probably using shaders ...

then, if there is a hole in this bitmap, then even slightly changing light direction/camera direction or whatever is calculated in shader can and will effect in changing shadow effect like that ...

well, just cant imagine how you will make it better biggrin_o.gif

    notworthy.gif BIS notworthy.gif ArmA

  2. its simple beauty !

I used to play bwcti by dvd, desert crcti, couple of small crctis, but this one is the best smile_o.gif

really, you have to check how much options you have, how much units to build, many possible scenarios (dutch, us, navy, eurores and so on) on so much islands

I'm just testing now alone so I can't say if it works well in coop-mp or pvp-mp.

IMHO its a must-have for every CTI player smile_o.gif

  3. great video. music, action, slow and fast motion - just superb. TV news - genius. Using only visuals and sound and telling us a BIG story - without one text, without one word .... smile_o.gif - great.

(I'm polish and our troops are in Iraq too - thats not the point I think. Video shows another point of view, another perspective, when big actions like war destroys small things, like those two ...)

  4. I would like to publicly thank the interviewers and the staff at Gr komputerowe (I hope that is the name of the website) for the english translation. I really appreciate the effort to share this information with those who don't speak polish. I would be impressed if it was a spanish sidebar but given that their second language choice is something I can benefit from personally, all the better for me smile_o.gif

well, I think they interviewed Placebo in english and later translate it to polish. Then - sharing both language version is good way to evade some possible misunderstands or translate errors.

anyway - interview looks nice - even if screenshots is old like planet itself ...

  5. well, i can't see a point to giving someone video to watch with use of latest TrackIR hardware smile_o.gif

that means we will be sure when NaturalPoint host the video on their site.

and that means that we're jealous about that someone had opportunity to play Arma ..... smile_o.gif

  6. well, I did not found order like that writen, but there is radio chat (sound) of ordering which can be heard like that.

    I think officer is saying:

    - 'engage' - 1st order to someona

    - 'position eg60' - reply to question 'where are you'

if i'm right, there is no engaging position or suppresive fire this way smile_o.gif

    sorry smile_o.gif

  7. thanks sicilian smile_o.gif

I should say that my english is poor - I meant that I dont understand clearly all points from first post and those two (about graphics settings and screenshot) are just my and some other polish players small requests smile_o.gif

well, at least I'm sure now that my post is understandable even if its written by me smile_o.gif

and I really hope that this topic (thanks sicilian) will give BIS some more ideas how to make multiplayer games better and fair.

  8. i think its too much politics here. Community is spreaded all over the world, not everyone is positive to coalition forces in Iraq ...

Maybe we should just dont be rude about that, keep focused on OFP related stuff.

In this topic someone are sending his greets, photos and just keeping contact with us, being at the moment in one of the most dangerous place in the world... someone else is going there also, maybe just respect them?

In other hand, saying that 'I can get on some convoys or something and get some more trigger time in with the 240' is rude also. Most of us are just players, not soldiers, maybe we dont want to know what will you do with this weapon? (and what are your feelings about that)

well, sorry for OT, just dont like when REAL WAR and CONFLICT had a word in discussion like that ...

and about this patch. superb, especially copter smile_o.gif anyone can say, is this unit is related with mexico?

(disclaimer: sorry for my english smile_o.gif )

  9. Today is April 2nd, so we can go back ontopic please.

how can we go ontopic if "YOU" dont give us some Recent Official information about ARMA..

we only can comment on video and we all know thats useless to talk about "old" video.

give us some recent information and concrete information about ARMA, the recent one.

right... we need some fresh info, unless you want to loose this community because of insane biggrin_o.gif

  10. well, sorry if its included in post (i dont understand clearly all points)

    - possibility for admin to check actual visual and game properties (like LOD limit, visuals, particles on/off and so on) for any player. Result should be saved to logfile or to xml.

    - possibility for admin to request actual view of player using command like #getscreen <nick>. Screen in jpg or other compressed format should be send to server. This is much complicated because of data transfer and lags, but can and should be used by admins only couple of times per game and of course without player's knowledge

  11. Nonono...

These aren't the markers that are arranged off in the bottom corner.

It's the other markers, bah. I'll post a screenie tomorrow, I'm dead tired and I'd be shite at explaining right now.

It's just the green overlay marker type-thing, and the smaller orangey-red and yellow elliptical markers sporadically placed

about. I'm not sure what they do.

    Wow... 999th post.

One more until the big 1k... wow_o.gif

Ok. I lied. I'll post a link to the screenie:

    http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/yourebuyingeggs/mapmarkers.jpg

So basically it seems that they're not present in the editor, so they're created dynamically.

How are they created? what does the large green marker represent? The smaller one? Whatabout the yellow/red ones? Are they arbitrarily placed?

    its DAC

big green is DAC sector, where units will be created or where units will have their waypoints only

small ones, those circles are waypoints, each one is referring to other unit type (infantry, trucks, armored, helicopter/base)

if you want to know more just find topic about DAC (made by Silola/Mapfact)

    EDIT: tacrod was faster smile_o.gif

  12. BIS, consider releasing techdemo, beta, demo or anything now. Community is waiting so long and I think will support ArmA even if it's full of bugs. You will have hundreds of beta testers smile_o.gif

Trailer for example. Bis send this beta version to someone, who made a movie. Why not allow some beta testers from community to register and give them demo to test? There is some mechanism to administrate bugreports and those test will give Bis more knowledge in shorter time.

    anyway

Trailer as I said couple of post earlier is just superb. BIS, keep up, don't take critics too serious, just make ArmA and release it. We're waiting for it soooo long ...

  13. Great job! I play this mission with Toyota Wars mod and found that there is no toyotas ... there are only bradleys and bmps and those vehicles dont looks good on Libya map.

I wish to play using toyota technicals, maybe with those 'fire from cargo' scripts smile_o.gif just a small request smile_o.gif

    anyway: great mission. thanks!

edit: one more: those 3 windows with settings, each one use a blackout, can you just show each one without this effect ... asking because I'm dying and replaying so much and there is so much delay ... smile_o.gif
