you should think about it twice. Hands clipping through weapon, weapon clipping through body and so on, its all animation's fault. In Arma we have one anim to hold weapon and not all of them have holdpoints in the same place. The same goes for clipping with body, it is almost impossible for such a engine to check collisions between men and his weapon. Not clipped hands, movable hands on car steering wheels, movable hands on mounted weapons and so on, it should work when use some sort of Inverse Kinematics, but its alot of work and many changes to engine. Think about it, whinners.

its happening when you have moving target and/or too small distance to target. You need to aim your chopper close on target also. Its happening because Hellfires, AT5 and so cant just turn around in place.

RTT should do, you can decide what resolution you render, you can even use other render-pipeline for it. As far as I can imagine, only thing which can stop BIS from doing that are extensive use of shaders, including HDR effects. Technically its still possible, it only demands big amount of work. Couple of months ago I tried to catch dll9 functions executed from Arma just to use it on special texture. I think my skill is too low to achieve that, but maybe Kegetys or another skilled coder can do it. As for interiors, I miss them much too. -
background texture looks singlecolored even if its not. Try add some noise and scratches, use burn and dodge like on metal parts. next thing are shadows. Try add darker area around cocpit elements. Shadows actually arent convincing that its solid and connected elements. btw, nice work mate

A Possible Community Approach to addon/mod making

well, I will use Terox' suggested approach with my addon project. I'm sure I will have PM box full of permission answers and I will be happy to see my addon in big mod. It costs me almost nothing and saves my time during patching bugs and others' time when creating mod. Do I have always fear unfair people? Terox, sickboy and others: Thanks for this nice idea -
thats a really great news. Vilas, Topas are talented artists, but more skilled people work the better mod will be. Hearing so, it looks like not-another-simple-mod. It looks like total modification project

well, I have the same problem here. Funny it started when I changed my monitor from 4:3 LG CRT to 16:10 IIyama LCD I tried different resolution but no hope found. After couple of hours testing I found its stuttering only when I move or rotate ingame, maybe its because of view-aspect-ratio?

OK, I have a question about signatures. It looks like in the last month or something, something changed in forum software and I cant use php generated images. Giving them tags "img" in brackets dont work as it says: I can understand that its rule about unspecified size of the image generated in real time by php. actually I have to say I'm not a good modder, there is my Kiowa Warrior to be finished and I have no time because of playing MP with my 8BZ clan Therefore it looks like 99% playing vs 1% modding time :P Well, of course I have a excuse, there are finals of ECL War Ladder still going on, in which we participate

I played demo yesterday and after 15 minutes of gameplay (hardest difficulty) have many laugh. Sorry, not because its so fun playing it, because gameplay is so naive... There is all good things which should be there (maybe instead of rate of fire switch), tanks, cobras, guns (many of them), RPGs, grenades, NV and so on. Its just like Arma closed in closet with everything scaled down and simplified. Sorry guys, who are fans of COD series. I just hope it will take 'casual gamers' out of Arma. Thats good side of COD4

great suggestion Vilas, best I heard last time It will give independency between destruction/damage modelling and engine. I'm signing this by both hands. More features in editable configs, more possibilities for addonmakers.

well, good sugestion but also really timeconsuming implementation. Options like define VOIP channels or in, outs need not only internal implementation but also interface. Same goes for teamspeak integration. How do you think they can make interface for this, do you have any ideas or project? Well, its not negative response, dont take it wrong. Its just I really like suggestions but as a developer I need more concrete, solid ideas. I think BIS too.

it is possible using render-to-texture technique, same as MFDs in vehicles, showing camera view different from players view. I really hope that BIS implement simple render-to-texture and give scripters and addonmakers possibility to use it. Things like realistic 3d sniper scopes, MFDs in vehicles, UAVs with cameras, when their view is transmitted onto soldiers item (like laptop) and so on, all is possible using this one technique. If BIS has no people/time resources to make it, I'm offering my programming skills and my time to help. No costs involved
