Well, I have a question for you moderators; has been ever considered that those titles (Member, Advanced Member, Whatever ...), group selection, post counter and stars, and a joined date would be removed? As I see them, they're nothing but an unecessary noise/rubbish.

Addons folder should be the right place. And use Mikero's 103, IMO it's the best such editor.

Maybe I just don't understand you mate, or I'm just failing to follow your logic, or maybe I'm just too tired (beening up all night and day) and I need a coffee despite I've drinked it about a hectoliter by now, but in my eyes you're just plainly wrong. How for 56k'ers can be easier to open a page full of a bigger pictures than when the pictures are smaller? How 200k pictures are not going to make browsing any worse for 56k users? 100k vs 200k, that's twice as big, so twice as long to open it, right? And as Kronzky has said I just can't understand what's all that fuss about it, and as Shadow has said if you need to post a bigger picture, post a link to it.
-
*doh!* What's this, a lazyness perhaps? What's this, a selfishness perhaps? You're not incosiderate? Think twice, dude. I'm asuming when you still had a 56k connection you've been nicely and politely quiet regarding this, yes? But now,,,all the world have ADSL if you have it, yes? I think Kronzky has maded a very nice exsample to all of you/us, that there's no real need for changing that rule, but as it seems for some of you this (or any other) 'proove' is just not enough. So what's this, a stuborness perhaps? Or (an empty) defying? And I think if Placebo would be still around he would make a very short breath of this discussion. Realy? Didn't know that. I had some idea and a suggestion (forum rules for the moderators  ) but now,,,kudos to you guys, you have my respect.

Heh, I've maded a similar OFP mission long ago only for my personal use, to train my fighting skills. The enemy just keep coming and coming from all directions ... Has never crossed my mind thou that such a sterile Alamo concept would interest anyone.
-
Yes that's about it folks; it's just a matter of personal taste. So with this thread a warm water has been discovered. And a potential perpetuum mobile,,,till its closing. And decide Ebud; it is boring my ass, or maybe a little boring?
-
Hehe, this quoted sentence from a 'non-community' dude is spot on and tells it much more and it's much more logical than any 'novel' of ours; it's containing the core and all the essence. And above all it tells a hard and bare facts and the truth.
-
Not really, all this is in fact OT (check the thread's title and the initialising post), which is not a surprise, all such 'provokative' topics tend to 'end' like this.

I'll not explain in detail, but this is just so invalid thinking. I'm quite used to this on many other game's forums, when some people have some (mostly constructive) remark(s) about the game's quality (and this is so easy nowdays; almost all new published games are bugged and unfinished-published prematurely,,,this has becamed like a trend, like a 'habbit' lately... ), almost immediately there's some one(fanboys) to tell those 'haters' that they don't like the game and why they're playing the game if they don't like it and go and play that other game (e.g. go f**k yourself), what are you doing on this forum then if you don't like the game and so on and so for. Good for you if you're enjoying the game, but don't think that in general you're more 'benifitial to the common cause' than those who're 'complaining' about/over the things, and wants -now listen to this!- some improvements.
-
Get your point,,,but alas you're missing the point, OFP(or ArmA)Dude. Â
-
@Chris Death (and the others) You're (all) forgetting one, but the main thing; the people which buyed ArmA, they've probably payed for (and they're expecting) the quality product, which will entertain them (with the campaign, with the missions ...), they've not payed for some (bugged) skeleton, which awaits to be dressed up by the community, they've not (primarily) payed for some 'tool' (editor); they've buyed a GAME, which must/should work adequately from the first second. And to entertain if possible. Now, if that game is for some (understandably? ) boring,,,OFP was never boring. Remember, BIS with OFP (and later the community) set these standards we're used to (and in co-relation with this the expectations). This is (for now) more regarding OFP than ArmA. Despite that the core of the community is the same,,,there're (still) some fanboys (and fangirls), which do acting/posting like such; which are 'blindly' and single mindendly defending the beloved company and its product ... This are just an eye candies dude ...

This is related with the overall campaign score. You've must of done the previous missions quite miserably, and the last mission obviously didn't improoved that (the overall score) too much, so you still like deserving to be spanked by Col. Blake. But don't worry private, the next time playing you'll done better, and maybe you'll receive a few back tabs on your sholder from Blake. Oh, and btw, the wrong board   ...

Well, in one thing you might be right; one day US and China might became an enemies. Just one word; Taiwan ...
-
Thanks for the link mate, but it says it was an old Chinese weather satellite, not an American one. If they would knock down an American satelite that would clearly been an act of an aggresion, and we would had some major conflict at our hands by now, or at least a serious worldwide crisis. And US are worried and they're complaining about something what according to this article themselves are capable to do since 80's, a bit of a two faced policy, dont' you think?
-
Really? I didn't knew that. One of your satelites in the orbit?
-
Well, I cannot add nothing wise to this topic, because the question/theme itself is not properly articulated. What the terminology of the 'local conflict in your country' means here? Does it means a conflict between some national and ethnical groups in some particular country, and then a possible upcomming civil war in that country or what? Excuse me but how I see it this is a pretty much senseless topic, and what till now has been dicussed here are just some 'harmless' and very obscure demonstrations or riots, which have more incommon with a plain vandalism, than with some 'local conflict in your country' or whatever. EDIT: @scotchsoldier Exsactly.
-
You're right, in OFP those conditions should work, but about the ArmA, don't have it yet, so ,,, but I think it should be ok there also. What about deleting obj1c = 1 from the On Activation field, have you try it yet? And a hint; use == instead of >= if the damage value you're checking is 1. In practice it's working on both ways, but == is like more correct. EDIT: Just as a side note and it has crossed my mind; note how damage is spelt (dammage), maybe this is corrected in ArmA ...

@NSX In this topic is not in question the russian internal politic and a social establisment, but should Russia fear NATO and its 'expansion' towards their borders. As I'm concerned you (in Russia) can have whatever political system you want, who -besides the russians- really cares about this, the 'problem' with the Russia is and has always been elsewhere; that thru the history has/is always tried/trying to expand its influence on the neighboring/nearby countries, or even to occupy them - to add/anex them to their 'empire', and I think that this (such a russian policy) has not changed much till nowdays. Just look how Baddo (Finland? ) is thinking/looking about/on the Russia ... So the point in this 'dilemma' (Russia vs NATO) is ,,, that in fact there's no point. No dilemma. Or it should be none; NATO is an organisation, Russia is a country; two incomparable things. And as I wrote before it should be non of a russian concern if some country joins or want to join to some organisation, it is their soverene right to do so, and if together with this organisation wants to install some defensive!!! -does this tells anything?- rocket system on their territory. And about the WW2; that about Zhukov is a historical fact, as is the fact that France in the victorian times would not occupy almost the whole Europe if they wouldn't be under the genious command of General Napoleon Bonaparte, and that in the antic times the Macedonians would not conquer almost the whole known world by those times, if they were not be leaded by the Alexander The Great; the hard (historical) fact is that the great military leaders and commanders win the war(s), not some imaginary people's hard work and soldier's courage (of course they're a cohesive, but not the essential part of it). Back to WW2 in Russia; it was already on its knees, and it certainly would be defeated (WW2 as a whole lost for the non Axis forces? ), Zhukov or no Zhukov, if there would not be the intervention from Hitler (an example of an incompetent military leader), which has re-routed the spearhead of the Group Center towards the south (Romania, Caucasus ...) to aid Group South to capture the oil fields. They were (Group Center, a colossuss military force, until it's been splited), what, only 200 km or even less from Moscow by that time, and there were no serious oposition from the Red Army. And all the military historians are sharing the same opinion that without that Hitler's intervention Moscow would fall, and when Moscow would fall ... @Baddo The reason why I saw your discussion as a selfish one (maybe oportunistic would more apropriate word - you should be a polititian  ), is because you're just asking what/if Finland would benefit if would enter the NATO. Understandable, but NATO is not just a 'place' where you can take what you like, and dismiss everything else; there're not only the benefits and priviledges, but also duties and the obligations. And on way you're discribing it all, such a Finland would be just a (unecessary) burden to/for NATO, but I think you're exadurating here a bit; I think Finland would be (again) invaded from Russia only in some much wider, global conflict. So ...

Good call. There're new members (ArmA users) which don't check if they're on the right place (it's not so evident), before they post their question/problem about the editing/scripting. The ideal solution would be to move/place it into the OPERATION FLASHPOINT subcategory. Or just to add 'OFP only' in the title. @Baddo I'm awared that the above is only an example, but personally I don't see some segnificant and essential changes in your suggestion; those rules are as you say just written in somewhat more friendlier tone, but on the end they're 'the same', and if you look a bit closer they're also 'meanacing', like all such rules are; just for instance; what it will happen, if a member would not 'obey' the fourth point of the rules ('Do post in well-constructed and spell-checked English' )? If some forum is a friendly place or not is more determined by the users/members (which on the end are the people with their characters), and especially by the moderators (which on the end are the people ... ), than the rules. Those rules on such forums are more or less the same, and re-writing them in some more friendlier and poetic tone I dont' think it will change much. EDIT: Aw aw aw, no need for such remarks, Baddo don't mean anything bad ...

I think your thinking is a spot on -=MaVerick=-, this looks very much like an overheating problem.
