I had the same problem, and some more with this mission (I asuming you're playing it with ECP), and I tried to explain this to the author and some other chaps of his on some other site, but he haven't shown some serious willing to listen to them (altrough I'm suspecting he's done the latest mission's update by them), he's been rather hostile instead, because I didn't liked his mission (mostly because of those massive 'technical' problems I had with the mission). Hope you'll not done the same 'mistake'. Not like his mission that is ...

I know it's hard, but also possible, especially on a huge (by dimensions) island like this is supose to be. So, where's the will ...
-
A word from a 'proffy' (a real pilot)! What an addon maker can wish more from that? As I said; this island could go a long way ...
-
I like the farmland islands too, that's my kind of the island, but so far I've been to many times dissapointed with them; most of them just seems not be thouthed out well. And that's what you should try to avoid with this island, because I really liked what I saw on those pics! Give it some time, and some thinking; it can't hurt if you make some kind of a 'wish list', then try to balance all the mentioned aspects and the suggestions from us (the voice of the public!), most of them are very, very good, practical and usable (like those from Sputnik Monroe for instance, I also like your idea about some kind of a small airfield with a 'dirt track' (you see, a very nice compromis!), suitable for agricultular planes and turistical Cessnas, and later, in some war, for the logistical purposes), try to avoid that the island will be suitable only for one kind of warfare (only for tank battles for instance - sorry, Serclaes ), and it's possible, very possible, that we will whithness the birth of the best user's island for OFP!
-
I like the big farmland approach. Vegetation and ofp ai sucks my grandma's underpants. Keep it up! Â Isn't enough of such islands out there? Haven't you fedded up with them? I am. It's just like the broken record with them; always the same, same, same ... We need something a bit NEW, a bit FRESH, and yes, a bit DIFFERENT and more REALISTICAL. And as I can see this island could-can meet this expetations. And please, no airfields. So far I've been able to find only ONE 'european's type' island without an airfield. But the ports on them are rare like the virgins are in RL. The fishing would probably be the main branch of the island's economy so, such an islands have ports, not airfields! Also the airfield is a tactical nightmare; in my (mission maker's) eyes 'the owner of the airfield' is 'the owner of the island', game over.

Just find a nice compromis about those aspects, and it'll be fine.

Yea. Only the forrest(s) should be more like one body, not like a little islands, if you know what I mean. BTW, which island is this?
-
Quite simple, this means a larger forested areas on the island; 'plant' a forrest wherever is possible and suitable; the whole island's 'look out' will be nicer, and above all more realistical (I've never been able to 'swollow' those huge grassy 'steps' on the islands). On almost all islands (official and un-official) those 'forrests' are ridiculously small, so the mission designers have quite a 'problems' to set an (realistical) guerilla scenario for instance. Don't know if this could have any effects on the lag thou ...

And a bit more 'woody' one (like 456820 also suggesting) than the official addons. Looks great otherwise; I still think Everon is the best OFP island, but it's of course to much used, so such an island will came like ... ekhm ... papa on mama.

In the Addons Requirements it says you don't need the Antonov addon for the versions higher than 1.0, but you do; you get a bunch of error messages, and ultimately CTD when the mission should start. Not quite my cup of tea, but it seems like a highly polished and enjoyable mission (so I'll 'keep it' ), and as the first assigment was easy, the second one (Shadow Play) is a tough nut to crack; it seems impossible to reach the target with your chopper not to be spotted by those patrol boats (mission's end). But I'll beat it ... Eventually ... Once I'll return back to her ...

My pleasure, but your problem belongs amoung 'the core basics' of OFP editing, so next time you could-should look into some tutorials, browse some FAQ pages, and so on  ...
-
You don't have the original picture in a power of two size. You should mention you're getting an error message already in your first post.
-
Yea, I know you're not a fisherman. To 're-confident' you let me put it like this: - if only one of all the players that will-have play your mission will-have found that ill woman for instance ... then you didn't waste your time, - if none will not find her ... then you didn't waste your time. I hope you've putted something like a little 'hint' in the readme about the replaybility level of this mission..
-
So, the picture is there now? If it is, then work on it until you can see the next one (because of the pic's size and all those lines it'll be probably shown on the next page). I'm not quite sure I understand your first sentence correctly (English is not my first language), but as you can see from your own sample, in overviews and in briefings isn't necessary, that their mesures have to be the power of two like the original picture format must be, but of course they'll be 'streched' or 'shinked', if you exsadurate with the measure distortion, and-or if you haven't incalculated the possible distortions in your original pic. And don't worry about those <br>'s; if you need them that much, then you need them that much.
-
Right. So IMHO such commands are meant to be used only for the in-mission cutscenes or something similar; whenever the player needs to stay alive 'at all costs', not in some (serious) mission.
-
Well, regarding me; I've putted your mission aside, until I completely cast out the demons (mission ideas) which are haunting me. No worries here, the mission will be still there, on my HD ... Don't worry, the people are finishing your mission. But there's 'nothing much' to report, except they've just played a masterpiece. But they've already told you this in their first report. P.S.: Oh, just one thing; it's a shame you've used an 'official' flags (Albanian and Bosnian ...), not customly maded. But I should mention this during the beta testing, haven't I? P.P.S.:About the voice: I've found quite a nice female syntetic voice, and with the right manipulating it sounds quite 'natural'. Beside, it's kind of OK if she will sounded a bit emotionless; it's a negative character after all! But if by chance it will not works, I can still later add her the balls and ...
-
I think the pictures are 'lined off'; they're 'there', but they're not shown in the briefing; this can be because of various of reasons. Â Try <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> We got some pictures taken of the target.<br><br> <p align="center"><img src="target.jpg" width="256" height="128"></p><br> The Target on the left talking whit General Guba.<br> <p align="left"><img src="target2.jpg" width="256" height="128"></p> <br> The Target is marked on the left. </h6><hr> If this still do not shown the pictures (or one of them), then experiment with the aligning (center, left, right), with number of lines (<br>), and with a width and height measures (I think you're a bit to wide here), until you get it right. P.S: Oh, and for the size of the picture for the briefing is not necessary to be the power of two.

Damn, I knowed it's a benefit for OFP mission maker, if he have some 'adults' in the familly! My wife don't want even to hear about doing some voice acting (she's to shy and looks on all this 'OFP thing' as a childlish), and I'm desperate for a female voice for my next project! Well, it seems I'll have to use some syntetic voice. Or I'll wait for my daughter to grow up; she's 3 now. Lucky you, TH!

Create markers (preferably as hidden), then link (F2) your unit to those markers, and the unit will start the mission randomly on the position of one of those markers.
-
For deleteting the units put in 'On Activation' field of your trigger <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> "deleteVehicle _x" forEach thisList You're correct about the objects by naming-listing one by one (deleteVehicle unitname), I'm not awared of any other 'easier' way, and you can put those commands in 'On Activation' field of that trigger aswell, you don't need a script for it.
-
I use it when I fu..! But, ALAS, it's to short ... Bolero in OFP?! Now that's a joke, not my petty attempts!
-
No, I'm deadly serious mate! Just imagine it, you're in the middle of intense battle; explosions are bangin' around your ass, bullets are zipin' around your head, and you're flatin' those charging bastards like some crazy mo..er fu..er, and in the backround from your 6.1 sound system's comming "Like a viiiiirgiiin ... ". Yeah, that would be really cool!

Seventh sucks! Those chicks of mine rulz!

Playing music with trigger
karantan replied to BlackAlpha's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
If you know that, where's the problem then? About your second question: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> #loop playMusic "7thImGonnaFly" ~ music lenght time goto "loop" -
Playing music with trigger
karantan replied to BlackAlpha's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Isn't already the official music 'inside' the trigger, so you don't need any command? Just click Effects button in the trigger, then go to Music section, and pick the right track. For looping the music I guess you'll need a simple looping script. But what are you trying to do, mate; drive us all nuts with a constant repeating of the same tune? Â Â Â
